We are just honestly visiting the restaurant Which is inside the museum so sad to say even if we're just there to eat coz my husband cannot really do all the long walk we will still have to pay for the entrance for the museum which is a no no! BenCab museum is a must-visit destination if you're looking for an all-out art museum experience here in the Philippines. If you're coming from Manila, it will take you a couple of hours to get here, but I promise you that it will be worth it. Make that trip to Baguio extra educational, and soak up some culture! This museum has several floors featuring Bencab's extensive collection of art from local indigenous artifacts and antiques to this national artist's personal creations, as well as well-curated collections of artworks from other local artists, both traditional and contemporary. Bencab aims to impress, and he surely delivers. If, for some strange incomprehensible reason you can't/don't appreciate art (I saw some people just SITTING THERE on the museum benches, looking bored. WHY?!?!? HOW!?!? Jeezuz!), then you can wander around his impressive landscaped garden that features lush greenery, fish ponds, and even a hanging bridge (if you dare to ignore the "off limits" sign leading here), framed by the beautiful, mountainous backdrop. There is also Cafe Sabel (named after his muse, which of course you already know) that serves local fare and fresh dishes made from produce from his garden, and a souvenir shop with some interesting finds. However, if there's one thing I did not enjoy about this place, it's that it can get PACKED. Well, I went here during holiday season and that's to be expected. I suggest you visit this place on a non-holiday weekday or off-season weekend. I believe the artworks in this place are best enjoyed in solitude. read more

Wish I planned out my stay due to missing the eco trail tour. There are certain times to go on this trail and it takes an hour in and about the same time back so approximately 2 hours of hiking. I arrived and started on the bottom by the cafe and worked my way up. Unfortunately this place is not friendly with disabled individuals with no elevator on site but on the map provided there is an access ramp on level 3? The wooden carvings were dope from the bed, cabinet, bench, massage chair, tobacco/lunch box holders and more! The glass doors towards the outside patio to take in the view of the mountains were perfect to weave back into the next exhibit. It's sad to see a lot of the "do not touch signs" posted everywhere which is such a distraction to the art itself so I suggest the front desk person should advise given rules to the guests before entering. I need to return with my hiking shoes next time. read more

This is a bit of a stretch from Metro Manila, but hey. Drivable right? PROS: BenCab Museum near Baguio City has given me one of the best museum experiences ever. Aside from the jaw-dropping art that surrounds you, you are surrounded by the mountainous Benguet terrain and a landscaped garden. It feels like the union of natural and man-made art. With the lush forestry outside and immersive works inside, it's so easy to get lost in thought and just spend your whole day there exploring; When you're looking for food, the museum has Café Sabel - named after Ben Cabrera's muse. They have this open-air location where you can enjoy the view. Plus the food and drinks are affordable and delicious; I hear you could hike the trail from their garden to the forest surrounding the museum. We'll be trying that when we get back. CONS: Baguio is quite a drive from Metro Manila, and the museum's location is around 30 minutes from the city center. If you haven't been there before, I suggest taking a cab or jeepney from the city market instead. It's really easy to get lost going there, but it's worth it. TL;DR: This is the must-try experience when going to Baguio City. Forget the crowds and smoke, BenCab Museum could be the only thing you visit when going north and it would be more than enough. read more

Bencab Museum is situated 20-25mins away from the city. Travelers can commute to the museum through Cab or Jeep. Bringing a private car is also a breeze via Daang Asin Road. Exact location is easily searchable in Waze or other GPS applications. Entrance fee is charged at Php 120 per head. This museum encapsulates the rich culture and artistry of the province. Every floor is a culmination of true Filipino talent with different exhibits that broadens the learning experience. Collections include BenCab's amazing works, Orlina's intrinsic Cordillera, ancient artifacts, and contemporary artworks. The museum is a great addition of must-see destinations in Baguio. A breather from the hustle and bustle of city. There is a nature eco-trail that implies an additional entrance of Php 100 each with a minimum of 15-minute walk to reach the end point. This trail is accessible through the bridge that leads to the miniforest that shelters ancient tribal huts. Order food and refreshments at Cafe Sabel. Sip brewed benguet coffee while glancing through the scenic mountain view. read more

Highly recommended for tourist who loves art, and in this place the weather is perfect

The Baguio city center these days is traffic-ridden and full of people. Not exactly an ideal escape from similarly congested Manila. However, there are still some untouched spots of beauty in Benguet, and the BenCab museum is at the top of that list. Probably the reason the museum is still pristine and its surroundings are uncluttered is because it's rather far from the city proper and very difficult to find without a good map. Still, the drive is totally worth the scenery and art. The museum is 4 whole floors of National Artist Ben Cabrera's art collection and some of his own works as well. All the exhibits are exquisitely beautiful! (One gallery is NSFW/R-18, by the way. Avoid it, or don't. Whatever floats your boat.) It's easy to while away a couple of hours admiring everything. The Cafe Sabel on the lowest floor is amazing! Named after the famous muse, the dishes here evoke the same feelings of inspiration Ben Cab must have gotten from Sabel. I highly recommend the chicken paprika dish and the delicious strawberry shake. Watch out for the lunch rush though, it's insane. The cafe overlooks impeccably landscaped, terrace-like gardens with a duck pond and gabi plants growing in water. I wanted to try going on the walking tour of the forest across the ravine, because goddamn that sounded awesome, but unfortunately there wasn't enough time. When I return then! I surely will, hopefully on a spontaneous Baguio trip with best friends or a date (this would be such an amazing place for a date), I'll drag whoever is with me to the BenCab museum. It's an attraction in Baguio that must not be overlooked. read more

Had the opportunity to explore this place whilst on my trip this summer. They have a great collection of native and contemporary art. Some of the art subjects may be a bit too mature for young children so let them explore with caution. Despite that, I love how they feature local artists. The outside area is breath taking and perfect for quirky and fun pictures. You have to pay some extra cash if you want to explore the whole area. Unfortunately I can't really saw if its worth the cash. The gift shop is well stocked, but a little pricey, I walked out with their most recent magazine. read more
