If it wasn't for our tour guide/driver, Sam, we wouldn't have known about this place.
We were a few yards away, coming off a great meal from Farmer's Daughter, he suggested we check this place out since, "You're already here. Might as well."
No one in our party have any knowledge about this place, but since he suggested it, and like he said, we were already there, why not!
We were a bit taken aback when we learned there was climbing required. Reason for this is because we just came from the Igorot Stone Kingdom and the next stop is Dragon Treasure Castle. HOWEVER! After this run, it was all well worth it.
We were greeted by a guide (forgot her name, ugh, my bad!) who gave us quick tour of what we're looking at. She explained the huts on this property are all originals, one belonging to a chief. Another is a hut where newlyweds are to reside in for a month to consummate their marriage (there's more to this story, but I'd rather one visit and ask their guide, should you be curious enough!) Even the lush and plantation surrounding the entire area have stories behind them. It really was an interesting tour.
Huts are also available for rent for the novelty of it. There was a cafe as well as a souvenir store.
We're very glad of the stop! Learned a lot about the Igorot's way of life simply by making this unplanned stop. If in Baguio, I'd recommend making a stop and learn a bit of history. read more
