Tam-Awan is a cultural center for the arts catering to both locals and tourists giving one a taste of the indigenous daily lifestyle of the Ifugao (mountain people) from the Cordillera Mountains. The village recreates typical housing huts of the Ifugao where you can rent one of the huts for overnight stays. They also have daily traditional dance performances which are interesting to watch. An onsite artist/weaving station nearby also illustrates the textile makings of the Ifugao. Should you need a unique souvenir from the Cordilleras, their souvenir station on the way out has a number of art or handicrafts, created by local artisans. Visiting Tam-Awan will reward you with many unique photo opportunities and it is an excellent spot for cultural immersion. Don't miss it!

BenCab museum is a must-visit destination if you're looking for an all-out art museum experience…read morehere in the Philippines. If you're coming from Manila, it will take you a couple of hours to get here, but I promise you that it will be worth it. Make that trip to Baguio extra educational, and soak up some culture! This museum has several floors featuring Bencab's extensive collection of art from local indigenous artifacts and antiques to this national artist's personal creations, as well as well-curated collections of artworks from other local artists, both traditional and contemporary. Bencab aims to impress, and he surely delivers. If, for some strange incomprehensible reason you can't/don't appreciate art (I saw some people just SITTING THERE on the museum benches, looking bored. WHY?!?!? HOW!?!? Jeezuz!), then you can wander around his impressive landscaped garden that features lush greenery, fish ponds, and even a hanging bridge (if you dare to ignore the "off limits" sign leading here), framed by the beautiful, mountainous backdrop. There is also Cafe Sabel (named after his muse, which of course you already know) that serves local fare and fresh dishes made from produce from his garden, and a souvenir shop with some interesting finds. However, if there's one thing I did not enjoy about this place, it's that it can get PACKED. Well, I went here during holiday season and that's to be expected. I suggest you visit this place on a non-holiday weekday or off-season weekend. I believe the artworks in this place are best enjoyed in solitude.

Plenty of flowers to look around, appreciate and take pictures. Today, we saw a lot of Snapdragons in 3 different colors in bloom, Hydrangeas, Pot Marigold, and Sunflowers. Not much of colorful cabbage roses. It is best to come during the months of December and January as there are more blooms. I find the entrance fee pricey even for the out of towners. They can give discounts for locals if you talk to the owner. * Entrance fee comes with a complimentary coffee and bread that you can claim at the cafe/souvenir store. * Wear comfy shoes and preferably a closed one. You'll be walking on some unpaved areas and it is not a flat terrain. * Tourist guides are provided. * You must register and buy tickets first before going in * Plenty of parking lot.
