So awhile back after relocating I decided to board my horses at Benbrook stables. I thought that the location near the lake was nice. The young girl that worked there was very nice and showed me around and there seemed to be a lot of options for my horses. I made clear to her that I didn't want my horses to get too beat up in the fields and I wanted to make sure my horses had enough to eat. I kept my horses at Benbrook for a long time because the location and I became friends with the other boards but I finally had to move my horses to a safer location. Neither one of them were getting enough to eat and they had so many bites! And they tried both paddock and the pasture/stall but its the same story. The Truth is there is that only around 1/2 you see are boarders the rest belong to the owner Molly who is very very rood and she also treated my friends who boarded there very badly. She had a pre programed response for anything you may want to talk to her about. You will tell very quickly, that she has spend a lot of time arguing with people that have the same concerns. The truth is, Those round bales are only available for them to eat on between 830 and 2 THEY HAVE NOTHING TO EAT AFTER 2 UNTIL THE NEXT DAY! They will grain your horse at 830 and 130 and while they are in their stalls eating grain they shut the gates. And there is only 3 round bales for 17 horses to share. As predicted there is a lot of fighting and a lot of skinny horses.The paddocks have the same problem but they are all turned loose with the trail horses which are extra mean. You will pay a stall price but they only are in their stalls for gain!! Never at night and they will tell you they put them in when it rains but that's not true either. The 2 people that care for the horses are gone by 430. I will say that the staff that cares for the horse are nice and they try to make up for the owners bad attitude. If it was the same staff but different owners it would be ran differently all the good fields wouldn't be taken up by the owners huge amout horses. If there is a nice looking field that actually have a patch of grass on it THAT WILL ONLY HAVE THE OWNERS HORSES ON THEM! The owners has all fields with grass the boards get only weed pastures!! Just look at the other horses on the exact field they want to put your horse on. Please don't take my word on this, call nicer boarding farms and ask them about what they have heard about benbrook stables! If you love the location just buy a horse trailer. You can park in the lake horse trailer parking directly behind benbrook stables and have full access to all the trails around the lake. In Addition, Please Molly don't bother responding, you have argued with all of the other people posting rating and THIS IS NOT A BLOG, this is a place for people to share their experiences. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE Benbrook Stables! They have THE best trail rides! Their trail horses are unflappable! They take you through creeks, up and down hills, and through some beautiful countryside- especially during Spring. Bluebonnet season explodes on those trails! Absolutely gorgeous! The 2-hour trail ride is incredible! Gorgeous views of Benbrook Lake, it's definitely a must-do! The staff are all so fun and kind. They truly care for all the horses at their barn, and it shows! Their trail horses are beautiful, healthy, happy and have great work ethic. The staff takes special care to make sure each horses needs are met. I leased one of their horses, "Blaze", for about 8 months (their lease program is awesome and surprisingly affordable) I wanted to buy him, but sadly, he's too valuable to them to sell. We had some great adventures together. I ended up buying my own horse and boarding her there at Benbrook Stables. The staff immediately welcomed her and helped her settle in. So grateful to all of them! When my horse got colic over the holidays, the staff were totally ontop of it! They got her up and walking and wouldn't let her down, they called me immediately and waited for the vet to come. Praise Jesus, the vet saved her. If it weren't for the staffs quick actions though, she might not have made it. Every year the barn participates in the Stockyards parade and the Grand Entry! They offer up their trail horses so you can participate with them! It's an incredible experience! I got to ride a pretty little mare named "Seven", and my daughter rode a horse named "Turtle" in the grand entry! It was so much fun!!!! I don't normally write reviews, but Benbrook Stables deserves it! I've brought lots of non-horsey friends and family to go on their awesome trail rides. They've all gone back to do it again! I have boarded at the stables for years and have had a great experience. When I first brought my horse in, he was a rescue and was a bit on the thin side, the owner, Molly, was able to give me some great advice for getting him into shape. It only took a few weeks on the stable's feeding program for my horse to gain his weight and now he looks fantastic! The horses are fed twice daily, and are checked for injuries every time they come in to eat. They get about 6 hours on the hay every day, and there is always plenty of hay in the pasture for the horses. My guy seems like he constantly has his head in the round bale. haha. There are miles and miles of trails to ride right out the back gate, and there are always lots of people to go ride with. The stables even organizes playdays for the boarders and lessons. I love that the playdays are kept smaller. It is not as intimidating for those of us who are just learning the patterns with our horses. Molly and the other staff are always willing to answer any questions that I might have about my horse and training. Molly has even spent time helping me train my horse on the playday patterns. We recently started having Cowboy Church on Sunday nights, which I love! It is a great chance to get together with the other boarders and have fellowship. This is definitely a great home for my horse, and I never have to worry about his care with all the great people at Benbrook Stables looking after him. read more

I started boarding my horses here over two years ago. We have found our new forever home. Benbrook Stables has everything you could ever want in an equestrian center. Most of all they take exceptional care of my babies. I am there six days a week training my 3-year-old, and I see firsthand the love and care the owners and staff have for the horses. I have read a few of the other reviews to the contrary, and let me tell you they are absolutely not true. All of the horses are cared for by a very loving, kind, gentle, and very caring staff. That love comes from the top. The owners are amazing. The Kaycie W. review was an employee that Molly literally fired on the spot for leaving without watering a horse. ( can you say disgruntled?). Molly sees everything and personally follows up on new hires. I was so happy to see her go. People like that don't last long and they all seem to run to Yelp. That is why I chose to write this review. You have to see the stables, and meet the owners. You will be amazed. The staff is the best anywhere. I love our new home, adore the staff ( now that Kacie was kicked to the curb) and love all the amenities Benbrook offers. The price is better than anywhere else and has so much more to offer. Thousands of acres right out the back gate to ride on around lake trails, two arenas, roundpens, gift shop etc.... You will get so much more than you ever thought. read more

I have boarded my horses with Benbrook Stables for over 5 years. The staff is the greatest. They care for all of the horses as if they are their own. I have one that is older and he needs a little extra attention. The guys in the barn are so sweet to him, they go out of their way to make sure he eats all his grain in the mornings and afternoon before they turn him out. They keep him in on hot days and take it upon their selves to give him a cool bath in the afternoons. They simply just love the horses. I would not trust my guys to just anyone. They are constantly going above and beyond. The facilities are beautiful. They also back up to the trails and all you have to do is ride out the back gate and you can find gorgeous lake trails that stretch for over 30 miles. The barns are very well kept, stalls and waters are maintained seven days a week. We have loved it here for a long time, I don't think any one could do it better. You see a lot of mentions of the owners. People get mad because they are zero tolerance for bad behavior, neglect and abuse. If they see any type of abuse to horses, the owner is given a chance to explain or they are asked to leave. No bad apples at this barn. No gossipy BS. It just is not tolerated. We absolutely Love That. Life is too short to put up with the crazy ones. They make it a stress free, fun environment for everyone. read more

Great Place to Board Your Horse - Go on a Trail Ride - Have a Party, or Take a Lesson. We have done it all at Benbrook Stables and love every minute of it. My kids first learned to ride there because we took a trail ride and LOVED IT. Then we took lessons and loved it so much, we bought our first horse and are now boarders. That was 5 years ago. My kids found their passion on that first trail ride. The trail rides are great! The guides are all so fun even while having to deal with a LOT of stuff from first time riders every day. They always do it with a smile. The barns are beautiful and very well kept. Our only complaint is the horses are too fat. They hay is great and the grain is perfectly balanced. Our horses are easy keepers and we have to keep cutting them back. The owners are so fun and always have something going on for the boarders. Always a trail ride or a cookout or a volleyball game and swimming in the Summer or a campfire in the cantina in the winter. Ten years ago, Benbrook stables had a great operation going on, but I honestly wonder what the heck happened? Now, this place is probably great for people who are able to do the "self care" options, but I would not recommend partial or full care on this place to ANYONE. If you are not one of the owners "little girls" that pretty much grew up there and are controlled by her, she doesnt care about anything any boarders have to say. If you have a question or an issue with something she can be very petty and hard to get along with. So unless you want her to pick a fight with you, dont bother bringing up your complaint. It wont be fixed anyway. And good luck actually receiving the services you pay for. The help is also not very knowledgable about horses at all and lazy to boot (with the exception of two girls, so you better hope they're the ones who are caring for your horse). All in all, if you want self care, this would be a good place because you would have minimal dealings with anyone and they do have a decent arena when its dry, but as far as aksking anything more than that... dont bother. read more

Last weekend my girlfriends and I decided to go horseback riding, it was a group of 6 and i am so glad they were able to accommodate all of us on such short notice. i made the reservation early in the morning around 9:30 and were able to get in at the 3 o'clock trail ride which was perfect timing since we had lunch at Joe T's around 1. we arrived around 2:45 which was just enough time to fill out the liability release and get on the horse by 3. I was paired with Georgia, she was such a sweetheart. I recommend her for sure! With the little experience i do have i felt very comfortable. A few of my friends had never even been around horses but they did just fine, all of the horses were very calm and gentle. Our trail boss was Eric, he was very polite and helpful. He didn't mind going over a few things twice and even stayed right beside one of my friends holding the reigns until she felt comfortable enough to hold the reigns on her own. All in all it was an awesome trail ride! The scenery was picture perfect and the weather was outstanding for January! I will be coming back very soon! read more

I have boarded at Benbrook Stables for several years now, and have loved it. The staff is experienced and will always do what is best for your horse. When I first brought my horses in, they were both on the thin side, the staff at the stables helped me with different feeds so that I could fatten my horses up. They are always willing to help. I have always been notified in a timely manner about any injuries to my horses whether it be big or small. They have several vets that frequently come to the stables, as well as a farrier that comes every other week. The owners of the stables have several events through out the year from Christmas parties and cookouts to playdays for the boarders. There is direct access to the trails, and several arenas and round pens on the property that the boarders are allowed to use. I have never had any issue finding someone to ride with or a place to ride my horse. I have always felt safe with my horses at the stables, and I love the family environment. I would not want to board anywhere else. read more

I have boarded my two horses at Benbrook Stables for over 8 years. The facilities have everything you need and then some. The horses are fed and cared for by an incredibly loving staff. Everyone involved with the day to day functions of the stables are very qualified, experienced horse people. They are all happy, love their jobs, and love the horses they care for. The fences, barns and pastures are top notch and are always being improved upon. It is a completely different place than I moved into just 8 yrs. ago. Green pastures and round bales, lots of turnout, never overcrowded, access to 30 miles of trails right out the back gate, two arenas, two round pens, huge stalls. Like I say they have everything you could possibly want. The owners are laid back and very easy to work with. They are always doing something for the boarders to get together and socialize. There is always a trail to join up with, a playday or a fundraiser to join if you want. I would not take my horse anywhere else. read more

Had the best trail ride ever. Me and my family called in, got an appointment for the next day. Girl answering the phone was super sweet and very helpful. She gave us all the info we needed before we arrived. Its cash only, had to arrive 15 minutes early, had to have a mask upon arrival but we could remove once on horse back etc......We arrived, filled out our paper work and got to the horses right on time. Our Guide was exceptional. She was so helpful, informative and made the trail ride a really great experience. We are beginners but we were never treated like it. The horses don't just follow each other either like some other trail rides we have been on at other facilities. We actually got to spread out and enjoy the ride. You can see all of the lake and had a great view of Down Town Fort Worth. The horses are healthy and groomed, and just as sweet as you could ever imagine. Benbrook Stables is very highly recommended in my book. We loved it. read more

I'm a long term full care boarder at Benbrook Stables. Most of the horses there have been there for years. They don't have a big turnover, stay full and no drama. I've boarded at all different barns around DFW through my 35 years of owning horses. Benbrook is our home and our family. I know they will always do what's right for my horse every day of the week. The access to the trails, round pens, arenas, and all the pastures for turn out is more than you can get anywhere else and for less money. The people are all so much fun and we have a lot of get togethers for parties and trail rides. Your horse could not be in better hands even if you did it yourself. The staff is knowledgeable and kind and sweet to all the horses. The hay is always top quality and full care is only $500 right new even with the crazy prices of everything. Loved our evening at Benbrook Stables. Our daughters wedding was outstanding. She was married at the stables in November and we could not have asked for a more lovely time. The venue is just fantastic. All of the lights in the trees and the ranch setting is exactly what she was looking for. The management and owners were so helpful and made the entire experience a pleasure. The staff is so friendly and were available to give a hand any time we needed anything at all. They went above and beyond when it came to hospitality. The bridal suite was warm and cozy with a fire in the fireplace and all the candles around the room. It is a very large, beautifully decorated room, with a private bath so all of her bridesmaids had plenty of room to get dressed and ready beforehand. we just could not believe how much we got for our money. Most Romantic Trail Ride of My Life! I can't thank Benbrook Stables enough for making today the most perfect afternoon ever. My boyfriend of 3 years proposed to me today on horseback. Everyone at the stables was in on it, and helped him plan the whole thing. We rode out for about 45 minutes and I was shocked to see a whole picnic lunch area waiting for us, overlooking the lake. I knew he could not have pulled it off by himself. It was beautiful. They took the horses while we had lunch and came back to pick us up and we rode back to the stables. Most romantic day of my life. Everyone was waiting at the stables to see if I said yes....lol...I think they were just as happy for us as we were. My wedding at Benbrook Stables was beyond anything I could have imagined. It was total perfection. The venue is gorgeous and transformed into an evening under the stars. The price at $250 an hour was also the best we found anywhere. I couldn't believe that was all it cost for the setting you get. It was also the only place I could find that would let me use my own caterers, and bring in all of my own people in to help. Everywhere I checked wanted me to use their list of vendors. The stables employees were so friendly and helpful and very easy to work with. They worked with me on every aspect of my wedding and just made it all so easy. Benbrook Stables is a gorgeous place with gorgeous horses. This chick Libby in the other review is obviously pissed off she doesn't get to work there. Hhahahah! I don't blame her everyone wants to work there. I don't understand why she keeps on hating though, you can tell by her review that she does not know a thing about horses. They said she couldn't answer any questions, and couldn't saddle a horse. Get over it Libby!!! Stop ranting about how the bad people were mean to you. This site is supposed to be a review place, not your insane rant forum because you didn't know enough to get a job. I wish I knew who was dumb enough to hire you. Beautiful Horseback riding experience with the family. We called and easily made a reservation for an early ride to beat the heat. We arrived a little early to fill out our our paperwork. We met a very sweet receptionist who checked us in and showed us right to our horses. We were amazed at how beautiful the horses are here. We ride on all of our vacations and these were the most gorgeous horses we have ever had the opportunity to ride. They were gentle and took great care of us on the trail. The trails are very scenic lake trails overlooking lake Benbrook and even a view of downtown Fort Worth. The staff were all very pleasant and seem to love their jobs. Our guide was super helpful and very informative. this is a must for anyone looking for a really fun trail ride. read more

I helped to plan my God daughters wedding at Benbrook Stables this November. It was so charming and perfectly done that I hope to have my daughters wedding there. The trees are all lit up in the evening and a roaring fire in the fireplace could not have been more romantic. Owner was so helpful in making the day a special one for the bride. She worked with us at every turn when our caterer cancelled at the last minute, they found one for us the next day. Our linens did not arrive and she just happened to have our color in stock. The staff and owner actually saved what could have been a disaster. It turned out amazing. The atmosphere, the weather, the staff, everything was just as perfect as it could be. I know why Benbrook Stables has been voted one of the top 10 best boarding barns in Texas year after year. I've boarded my gelding here for over 5 years. I've been to other barns and they just don't compare. The care your horse gets is the best anywhere. Fresh clean hay, huge turn out pastures, access to the trails around the lake is right out the back gate and so much more. It is a safe, fun and friendly riding environment. Zero barn drama. Lots of get togethers for the holidays and events. It's really a barn family and we love it here. It's a peaceful and loving place to keep your horse. The horses are always so calm and quiet. You can tell the minute you walk in they are all cared for with a lot of love. read more
