They said 4 Hearts Ranch was the best place around. I agree. My mare is very happy at 4 Hearts. She has a wonderful stall with shavings, a fan by day, and wonderful turnout in the evening (summer hours). I look forward to the winter hours. All the long term boarders are very happy. There are multiple vets and farriers that attend this facility. The staff are polite and definitely know how to care for horses. There are no flies because of excellent manure control. Most horse owners care for their horses by boarding at a top shelf facility. I count my blessings, that I was able to get into 4 Hearts Ranch. There is usually a waiting list to get in.

So this is really more of a 2.5 stars. Not a bad place, all spots have 30A and 50A hookups as well…read moreas water and sewer. It is right off a highway so if road noise bothers you I'd look somewhere else. The interior roads are all gravel and the entry is a bit confusing at night. Be extra careful to not drag your wheels off the side either (Especially on the west...) because you'd be stuck for good. Most the people here seem like they are full timers so the number of transient spots is pretty limited but everyone was quiet and pretty much kept to themselves. It is an added bonus though if you are travelling with horses because they have accommodations for that for some extra cost. Several pull through spots as well as some that you have to back in to. Make sure and scout your area before unhooking. I saw the power/water utilities and assumed that was the hookup side. Turned out that the sewer was on the other side (Along with a dual water/electric hookup for the two spots there) and didn't realize it until I was unhooked, jacked and leveled. We just waited until we left to turn around and dump, but it would have been a hassle if we were there for much longer. We called the owner Thursday night to ask where to park and he got us set up just fine. Didn't meet him until Saturday but was a polite guy running a reasonably clean place that serves a niche market. He has another guy on site more or less full time for emergencies but prefers to handle most regular business himself. We'd probably stay here again since the road noise didn't bother us especially at $20/night, but if there was a place further back off the highway where we could let the kids play a little more we'd probably prefer that.

Not only does she teach you how to ride but also why we ride the way we do and how it effects the horse. There has been many times over the years where I have been on my horse having a difficult time and she has patiently sat on the rail and coached me through it. She always makes sure that each rider and horse leave the arena on a good note. There are no short-cuts at her barn, everything we do is done the right way and the safe way.

You're comfortable being told that your animals could suddenly "disappear." We were told this multiple times over the past year. After the farmhand's employment was suddenly terminated and he was given 10 days to leave his home on the property, we no longer felt safe leaving our animals at the stables. We began keeping a video log of our animals to make sure they were all accounted for because we were worried about what might happen when we weren't there. 2. You enjoy living life on the edge and walking by things that can fall at any time. Multiple barn lights have been out for some time, and some light fixtures are quite literally hanging on by a thread. 3. You're not particularly attached to your belongings. Our backup window AC unit, worth over $500, disappeared from the barn while we were moving out. 4. You love a good slip-and-slide. Water has been leaking from the ground for months, and people have slipped (myself included) while trying to get water for their animals. The solution? Cover it up with wood shavings! At one point, there were the cutest frogs living in the puddles. 5. You enjoy being blamed for things you didn't do. Sometimes we were blamed for incidents that happened when we weren't even on the property. 6. You appreciate a good double standard. We were yelled at for leaving the front gate open briefly while unloading supplies, while the owner and family routinely left that same gate wide open for hours on end when leaving the property. If any of these points sound appealing, then this is the right place for you! Honestly, we stayed as long as we did because it was the only place within our budget, and we saw that the farmhand did his best to take care of the animals. Now that he's no longer there, we bit the bullet and moved our animals out.
