This doctor advertises vision is one of life's greatest gifts. Well, he blinded my right eye. As an artist, he caused a serious tragedy in my life. In August 2022, I underwent a routine cataract surgery performed by this arrogant doctor, but it ended in the loss of vision in my right eye. Shockingly, the doctor not only refused to compensate me or apologize but also declined to refund the surgery costs covered by my insurance or Medicare. The only refund offered was for the damaged lens that couldn't be inserted due to the eye damage he caused. When I went to his office, to ask for compensation, he called the police to escort me out. This incident is far from isolated. Public records reveal previous lawsuits for medical malpractice 2006. I know two other individuals in Jupiter whose eyes were damaged by him, both cases were settled out of court. He admitted that such blunders happen only once per year, indicating a shocking lack of accountability, as well as telling me, What did I expect? Your cataracts were so large , as if the damage was my fault. He has a bad reputation with long time Jupiter residents as well as other medical professionals. The doctor is supposed to explain what lens to choose for my particular cataracts. but he was not present. He turned over this important consult to his untrained office worker who advised me to chose the wrong lens for my eye, which I discovered later from a different doctor. Your cataracts were so large" , as if the damage was my fault. The doctor's method of prescribing eye drops for pre-op and post-op cataract surgery is as outdated as his approach. The doctor's unethical behavior extended to financial matters as well. He insisted I pay in advance for two cataract surgeries and two expensive lenses, a demand I rightly refused. Furthermore, he deceived me, falsely claiming the surgery went well through messages delivered by the nurses. Later that day, his office called to inform me of the need for emergency surgery to remove cataract fragments in my retina, leading to a year-long struggle with blindness in my eye. As an artist, this nightmare has profoundly impacted my life. I strongly caution others to stay away from this doctor and his practice. Additionally, it's worth noting that several suspicious positive reviews appear to be fabricated by his staff, adding another layer of dishonesty to this distressing situation. Our eye doctor, Monroe Benaim, MD, recently expanded his outstanding ophthalmology practice to include facial aesthetics, and my wife had a feeling this new offering was just what she was looking for - a physician led studio with state of the art facilities. Dr. Benaim performs many of these facial procedures himself, given his long experience working with the eyes and skin around them. His assistant aesthetician, Eunik, consults with Dr. Benaim and both listened to what my wife was hoping to accomplish through several sessions of microneedling and intense pulsed light treatments. Eunik is a patient advisor, careful technician, and wants her clients to achieve results that are possible without having more complicated surgeries and extended healing times. I had a sty in my right eyelid. Dr Benaims's office accommodated me by giving me an appointment the next day. The medical assistants and office staff were all professional knowledgeable and caring. Doctor Benaim is smart and quickly gave me several strategies for healing my eye that would work for me. I will certainly go to hm for my future eye exams. read more

I had a negative experience at the Florida Eye Group. I went in for a regular checkup because I have vision insurance and it was only supposed to cost me $10. I figured it can't hurt to do a regular checkup. They had one of the staff check me out and she said my vision is good. She asks me why I am there and I say it is for a regular checkup - no complaints or problems. At the end of the visit they had me go into another room where I waited about 15 minutes. They didn't tell me why, just that the Dr. needed to see me. Dr Benaim comes in and spends about 30 seconds looking at my eyes with one of his devices. He then says my eyes are fine and asks me if I have had any problems. I say no. He proceeds to ask me a bunch of questions and finally tells me I might still benefit from glasses (even though he and his staff said my eyes are o.k). I keep telling him if my eyes are ok, I'm not buying any glasses. At this point I started to feel a bit uncomfortable. Like I was talking to a door to door salesman that won't let me close the door. I was charged $134 for sitting through Dr Benaim's sales pitch. He still wrote me up a prescription and when I paid the bill at the front they told me to go into their adjacent eye glasses store to pick up my prescription. I walked straight out. I felt like I'd been scammed and that I paid $134 to sit through a sales pitch for glasses I don't need. I have little faith in Dr. Benaim's medical judgement. He takes advantage of the trust patients have in doctors to increase his profits. read more

THIS OFFICE AND DR. BENAIM ARE THE BEST!! They deserve more than 5 stars! My mom was in Florida for visiting relatives, and accidentally grabbed contact lens cleaner with hydrogen peroxide and used that to clean her lens before putting them in her eye. She immediately felt a painful burning and took out the lens. By the time she removed the lens, her eye was bright red and in a great deal of pain. She rinsed with water and called her relative's eye doctor. He was on vacation, but Dr.Monroe Benaim was covering and she called him. After explaining the situation to Dr. Benaim's office staff, they scheduled an appointment on short notice. They squeezed my mom in to their busy schedule, treated her like a regular patient and gave her amazing personal and professional care. Moreover, when my mom told the office that she wouldn't have time to fill the prescription right away because she was hosting an 80th birthday party/celebration that she had to run to, Dr. Benaim and his staff searched the office to find a sample of the medication that would hold her over until she could get her medication after the birthday party. Everyone tat Dr. Benaim's office went above and beyond! My mom said she wishes she lived there to have Dr. Benaim as her regular doctor. She cannot thank him and his wonderful office enough for seeing her right away, treating her injured eye and making sure she got to the birthday party on time! THEY ARE AWESOME!!!! read more

Please for your eye's sake, stay away from this Doctor. He is a scam. They burned my eye by mistake with an incorrect solution. They did not even care! They never followed up to see how I felt. I had to go to another dr for a steroid. On top of it, he billed Medicare! Since this episode, I have been telling anyone I can, and not surprisingly, there are quite a few people that have same opinion and very bad experiences! read more
