The place seemed to be older so the door was stuck and staff had to come struggle to open it. Inside is typical of ice-cream shop with counter and the cooler with different type of gelato/sorbet. They have variety of flavors and some interesting one like Dubai chocolate, mandarin and Maine blueberry. They do let you try if you ask so if you are not sure you can ask to try them. I ended up getting large just so i can try different flavors and it's also just $1 difference from each size. I ended up getting Belgian chocolate, peanut butter browny and chocolate chip affogato flavors. They were all very tasty. I was impressed by the Belgian chocolate as it was super rich chocolate flavor i was looking for a while. Service was good but the staff did struggle with the door and had issue with credit card reader too. Maybe should be more ready for customer when they open. Overall i still liked their gelato and would be a good stop for frozen treat in Newport.

Parking isn't the biggest lot, but there's additional space next door, so we've never had much trouble finding a spot. The staff is always friendly, and even when the line looks long, it moves surprisingly fast. We especially love stopping here with our son on the way home from soccer practice...it's become one of those little traditions we all look forward to. If you're looking for a fun, family friendly ice cream spot with great options and hometown charm, this place is definitely worth the stop!

There was a huge line wrapped around the side of the building when we arrived, with few parking spots left in the lot. The line went by a little slow. I wish they had the menu posted somewhere along the side of the building to look at while waiting since I felt pressured to make a fast decision when I got up there to not hold up the line any longer. Luckily the menu for hard ice cream is short. I went with the flavor that sounded the most interesting and have never tried: playdough, while my brother ordered the coconut. The playdough was a bright highlighter yellow color with chunks of colorful dough. The base tasted like vanilla and the dough did not have much flavor. It reminded me of biting into the chewy part of a cowtail candy but with no flavor. I was disappointed. The coconut did taste like coconut, but more artificial than I had in mind. There are no benches or tables so most people were eating the ice cream in their cars. We sat on the wooden logs nearby meant to be a barrier for cars.

The shop is smaller, but clean, cute and easy to pop in and out. The area of Newport where it is, is very nice. I enjoyed both of these cupcakes a lot. The lemon curd filling in the lemon was super good. Both cupcakes were moist, not too rich, and the frosting was amazing. It still had a very "frosting" flavor but it was thick and creamy enough to hold its shape, but not totally like you're just eating sugar. The chocolate raspberry cupcake was amazing. The raspberry frosting is extremely memorable and the chocolate flavor of the cupcake was very good. I am a big vanilla cake fan, as a lot of chocolate cake sometimes tastes funky, but I assure you this one is very good. The girl at the counter was very nice, and helpful with other customers questions. I recommend!
