I've warmed up to the Belltop. When it opened not so long ago, I resented the changes it had made from the previous cafe in the same space--notably the price hike and the shrinkage in portions. But after some bumps and false starts the Belltop has emerged as one of the better cafes on campus.
The coffee is pretty good (best: the coldpress), there are some basic breakfast items at reasonable prices (excellent fruit toast), and a cooler full of take-away Asian lunches--Vietnamese salad rolls, Singapore noodles, Pad Thai, and similar. On the sweet side the selection remains underwhelming: probably a blessing in disguise since I'm rarely tempted to sample these.
Best, of course, is the space itself: a rooftop with unimprovable views north across the river. A very pleasant place to spend an hour or two. read more
