If you've been thinking about getting your trees trimmed, you should call Bell's Tree Service. A couple of our family members have used their service in the past and were pleased with their work, so we decided to give them a try. When we called for an estimate, Miguel responded and came out quickly to provide a quote. For the amount of work we wanted done, the price was reasonable. They scheduled an appointment in advance to complete the job and estimated it would take two days. It actually took a day and a half! Miguel and his crew, Marvin, Jim, and Nacho, are all very nice, efficient, hard workers, and make a great team. It was incredible watching them swing through the trees with such ease. They trimmed everything exactly how we asked. We will feel a whole lot safer when the storm season begins. The crew cleaned the yard up so well before they left. Don't call on anyone else for tree removal. After the recent Feb storm, our 135 foot redwood was teetering over and close to falling onto the house. I called L Bell the next day and Miguel showed up within hours. He gave a reasonable estimate and the crew began working the next day. The did a great job of cutting down the redwood without damaging the nearby fence and did their best protecting the street while the cut tree parts came crashing down. I had them take out the cut redwood stump and a 10year old stump from a previous cut redwood. I can't tell two huge redwoods existed in that spot before. I am impressed. Steve C. read more

I used them 16 years ago to remove pines in my yard. They were attentive to taking care of the yard, removing the trees, stump grinding, and cleaning up afterward. It had a large amount of surface roots that were raising up my front porch. They spent time digging and cutting out these roots, they did an excellent job. I didn't know who to call or what to do when the tree in my front yard first dropped a smaller branch on my roof - no damage thank goodness, then a second, much larger one in the street during our last big storm. I checked the Better Business Bureau, Yelp, and Google and called a couple of likely tree services. It still seemed like a leap of faith, since I know nothing about this business. Jeanette came out the next day and gave me a quote in writing. The price was reasonable and she said they could take care of the tree the following week. Another company could not be here until the end of the month. I signed up and she gave me a copy of her insurance paperwork. The crew showed up this morning, as scheduled, and on time. They were friendly and efficient. They cleaned up after themselves, and had us inspect the area before they left. I could not be happier with their service. Bell's Tree Service removed two 50' palm trees, shrubs, and a smaller tree from our backyard and a large redwood in the front yard. The tree removal went smoothly, with no damage to property. At the end of the day, the trees, shrubs, stumps, and all debris were gone. The workers labored tirelessly throughout the day to get the job finished and raked/cleaned/blew afterwards, leaving our property clean and mess-free. When I needed a pine tree with several trunks over 50 feet tall removed, Bell's Tree Service was recommended to me by my niece. They had trimmed her trees, and she had been very pleased with their work. The Bell's Tree Service estimator was very knowledgeable and even taught me a few things I hadn't known before. I was surprised when she handed me several papers that included their contractor's number and estimate along with other things. (Later, I learned that every tree service is legally required to have given me those, but only 2 of the 4 who gave quotes did so. So, I knew they had all their ducks in a row legally, and if there should be any mishaps it would be covered.) Not only was their quote quite reasonable, but when asked to also do some other work, they threw it in. I was impressed... and very grateful! Their amazingly fast, efficient workers were very professional and extremely polite. The worker in the tree almost seemed to be part of it the way he moved with ease up the trunk and across the branches as he cut away. I was also impressed with their accuracy in mentally calculating where branches and tree trunks would land. A water faucet was located very close to the tree, but there was no damage to it or any other property! Bell's Tree Service was amazing in every way, and I highly recommend them. read more

I hardly EVER write reviews on anything... but for this I felt compelled. Our neighbors hired Jeanette's company to come out and trim a large tree that hung over their home. They had us sign a form saying it was okay to trim the tree, which we did, assuming that this was a reputable company with an experienced arborist that would do the job properly. We were not home when the work was done. We come home to find HALF of our tree was removed!? It was supposed to be a "trim" on a couple of larger overhanging branches. Not only did Jeanette's team come a day early to do the job, without our neighbor who ordered the work being there, when they called him to let him know they were coming early, he said he would come to home to supervise and discuss... but that they had "already done the job"... "we are finished"... WITHOUT our neighbor there to approve or confirm what was being done!? We were astounded that this was done so unprofessionally!!! The trimming was so drastic that it looks like an amateur did it... with virtually half the tree being removed... so there is NO aesthetic balance to the tree at all. It looks like half of the tree was removed and the other half on our side of the property line remained untouched. Upon calling Jeanette the next day, we explained the situation and that we needed them to come back to at least trim OUR side of the tree a little more... so it didn't look so terrible. Perhaps trimming a couple of branches so at least the tree isn't an unsightly eye-sore. We even said that we'd be willing to pay a little bit more to have them come out... again, just trimming a couple of branches so it didn't look so bad. Jeanette said "I'm less concerned about the money and more concerned about the customer good will" and future business. This was encouraging. I'm a business owner and I know the importance of good customer service. We were hopeful. So we scheduled them to come to the house the next day for a little bit of trimming. When Jeanette finally arrived to the house, she presented us with a bill for $475.00 (on top of the $600 we have already spent with our neighbor for the previous botch job). When we asked "what about the 'good will vs. money' issue"- she didn't care. She was completely ignoring her own offer, which SHE gave to us even after we said we'd be willing to pay a little more. Then, she threw our neighbors "under the bus" saying they wanted everything cut down on their side of the fence... despite the fact that they weren't even there when the trimming was done. Bottom line, not only did they drastically cut our poor tree- at the wrong time of year I might add which may affect the overall health- but she ignored her own offer of fixing a terrible problem that THEY created. It is patently obvious this company chooses volume/ quantity/ speed over quality and ethics. Be VERY wary of hiring this company. Because of their focus on speed and not on communication, our poor tree and the overall eye appeal of our home has to suffer. And had Jeanette merely followed up on her own suggestion of "making this right"...I would have been a very happy customer that would have hired them again. They went from a guaranteed future customer to an unhappy consumer that will now spread the word on social media. Very sad. read more

Dishonest and completely unprofessional. Avoid this company at all cost! Bell's Tree Service took the word of a neighbor who claimed to be speaking on our behalf. (We were out of town at the time.) This person instructed them to enter our property and cut 10-12 feet off the top of several of our trees so that SHE could have more sunlight in her upstairs windows. The deceitful neighbor aside, this company had a legal and professional obligation to contact us directly before agreeing to perform this service. They did no such thing. Instead, they trespassed on private property, illegally cut down our trees, and then tried to claim that they were not at fault because the neighbor tricked them. It has now been six months and Bell's Tree Service has done absolutely nothing to try to rectify this issue. In fact, the owner is refusing to take our phone calls and we have been forced to hire an attorney. read more

Bell Tree Service removed a huge cork oak tree that was growing in between mine and my neighbors home in October. This tree was well over 100yrs old and the limbs having over my house were over 2 tons each I was told by the County. Bell Tree Service was awesome. They took this humoungous tree down piece by piece over 3 days. They cleaned everything up and were nice and friendly guys who were very professional.
