I've been wanting to stop by the Oh My Gogi! food truck next time I was in Houston in the weekend,…read moresince I heard a bunch of great things about their food. I had no idea that they recently had a food truck in Northgate, so I decided to check them out. TASTE: During my visit, I decided to opt for their Bulgogi Beef Fries, which I typically get at Asian fusion food trucks as a benchmark and since you technically can't go wrong with bulgogi beef fries in general. I had my share of these kind of fries from the west coast to those in Austin and Houston, so I had a good range of good and bad fries. I really liked these fries though, since they were my style. The fries were nicely firm but weren't oily. The bulgogi also had a nice texture and wasn't chewy like what I find at places with similar dishes. It also had the complete works like your spicy mayo and garnishes. One thing that I did notice about the fries was that it was nicely seasoned with some sort of spicy seasoning (?), which I don't recall seeing often in similar fries from other places. Long story short, great tasty bulgogi beef fries. SERVICE: It's a food truck in a food truck park, but the guy taking my order seemed cool. VALUE: Reasonably priced at around $8 and about the same as the other Asian fusion places that you find in the bigger cities and at restaurants in town with similar dishes like Nam Cafe. If this were open for lunch or more weekday evenings, I would have no qualms in making this a frequent spot. ATMOSPHERE: I visited around midnight for a late snack break on a Saturday night in the summer, but it was unfortunately surprisingly empty. But since it was spacious and well-lit with music blaring on the speakers, I think it would make a great atmosphere for a group of friends to eat and hang out. VERDICT: Overall, strong recommend from me. I want to go back to try their other foods. Only bummer is that they are only open on weekend evenings from Thursday to Saturday, so you have to catch them at the right time. Glad they have a food truck like this here in town, because I typically only get this taste when I head to the major cities in the state.

Once the table was set, most of us ordered unsweet tea and it was tough to drink. It tasted like stale Whataburger tea. I asked for lemons and Sweet N Low but they only had Splenda. She brought out the sides for our table and the kimchi was okay...nothing that had fermented long enough. The cold radish was a highlight. The potatoes were tough and I did not even try the jelly... For our entrees, all of us got bulgogi except for my mother who got the spicy seafood soup. Our friend tried ordering the sautéed chicken but the waitress literally said, "is it your first time? You get bulgogi. I promise." She completely hijacked his ordering experience and ended up with a dish he didn't like. None of us liked our food (except my mother). "Mom, y'all (referring to me and her) make better bulgogi than this at home," said my brother. I don't disagree...the texture was rubbery and it was tasteless. This being my 3rd time here (I always get some form of bibimbap), I expected the same quality. The presentation was nice but so much was lacking. Great service, C-tier food.

The interiors are clean and relaxing. A little bit pricey, but portions were large and the high quality ingredients make up for it. The banchan was delicious and unique, but of course their homemade kimchi was the best part. Everything was delicious and we will most definitely be back. I want to make sure and try the kimchi soup next time since we saw so many people order it.

TLDR: food quality went downhill after the renovations; would not recommend anymore…read more It breaks my heart to give Shun de Mom so low of a review. Last year in Spring 2023 (before the semester-long renovations), Shun de Mom was my favorite eatery in CSTAT. I ate here at least 2-3 times/month. However, they're not the same anymore (maybe a different management staff?). For starters, they changed their menu and removed the Thailand Chicken (my favorite dish) along with raising their prices slightly. More importantly, they changed the sauces so "saucy" dishes (like the Orange Chicken) just did not taste good. The chicken lo mein had very little flavor and the noodles seemed "rubbery" for some reason. Lastly, the salt and pepper pork ribs looked exceedingly deep-fried and I'm fairly sure had MSG on them. The only semi-decent dish was the chicken fried rice. So if you're hankering for chicken-fried rice within walking distance of campus, then this is your place. One positive is the servers were exceedingly friendly and the food came out fairly quickly (~10 minutes). The chairs are metal and neither comfortable nor uncomfortable.

Probably should have gone somewhere else. So I walked in the location. There wasn't very many people in there. There was two employees, both of them were on the computers. They pretty much ignored me for a couple of minutes before they decided to come. And help me.I looked over the menu fairly quickly.I already knew what I wanted.I wanted the combination fried rice.I noticed that it's said that the fried rice had scallops in it had never tried it before. So decided to give it a try.I was sadly disappointed. First off, I'm gonna start with. I've had scallops in the past and the scallops that they had in there or whatever they where were extremely fishy to the point of the entire Fried Rice tasted like fish. I ate the majority of the Fried Rice. It left an oily fishy taste in my mouth. I was just so hungry. I ate it and I fell asleep. I noticed that I started getting rumble guts in the middle of the night and yeah, you can figure it out from there. I think next time I'll probably steer clear of this place. And I do come to brian college station quite a bit after I ate there. The next night, one of the guys told me that I shouldn't have eaten there. Just walking in the location didn't look very clean.Look kinda unkepped. Would I ever come back? Probably not more like, definitely not. If you want to try it, try it out. Maybe I just had a bad experience. But yeah it wasn't for me. Combo fried rice 1 outa 10 just nasty fishy taste i have never had scallops in Fried Rice.
