I've been coming to Nam Cafe consistently for 2 years now and can easily say it's one of the best restaurants in Cstat. Their pho is fantastic and made of truly fresh and high quality ingredients. I come in once a week for the lunch special and get the same thing every time and it is always delicious. As a college student it's hard to find good priced and healthy food around campus, and Nam Cafe offers that. Great place to grab a bite and get some studying in. Would highly recommend. read more

If you're getting takeout, it can be a bit difficult though because the parking lot does fill up quickly, and people will park behind you and trap you in. I've been in the area since this was the only pho spot in the area. I'm also Vietnamese so my bar is high for pho. It used to taste a lot better than it does now, the pho is good for what it is but if you are looking for traditional pho with more homemade elements this won't be the spot in town. For me this pho is a bit saltier at its base than other restaurant pho and of course homemade pho but it does its job. The location makes it really convenient for the people that live close by and are on campus for class and need lunch craving a soup. However, since it is located where it is on University Dr. it has a bit higher price than typical and essentially double the price pho compared to a typical pho spot. The environment inside is kinda mid if you're looking for atmosphere but not bad for a casual lunch. read more

Overall a great eating experience. The good was delicious and freshly made. I wish the pho had a slightly deeper flavor and the vermicelli had a stronger flavor profile. Helping seemed nicely portioned for the price. The cashiers, servers of food and person cleaning up the table seemed attentive and friendly. The table had full siracha and hoisin bottles which is really nice. The bathrooms were down a very narrow hallway and small (1 person at a time) Parking lot is small.., about 10 slots so parking behind cars is common. I'd recommend and would return. read more

We are always looking for good Vietnamese food, so during our visit to College Station we took the advice of fellow Yelpers and gave the Nam Cafe a try. Parking was a challenge since it is limited to a few spots in front of the restaurant. We eventually found street parking a block away. Once we got to the restaurant we noticed that more experienced diners, double parked behind other customers and wrote their contact information on the clipboard on a table by the door. The system seems to work. The restaurant was busy on a Wednesday night, ordering was done at the counter and food delivered to your table by the kitchen staff. Everyone was friendly. We ordered summer rolls and pho. The summer rolls were fresh and the pho was hot and tasty. The restaurant was clean and the decor is pleasant. We would definitely dine here again when we visit College Station. read more

I've been here a couple times now and the bowls seem to be the way to go. They pack so much food in there that you'd better be hungry when you walk in (like I am). I got the pho spicy soup bowl. It was so hot I had to step away and blow my nose in the restroom because it was getting to me. I eat A LOT of spicey foods, so it really surprised me in a good way. I ate the whole thing and it didn't even jack up my stomach. I'd like to try some of their other items that aren't soup but it's just too delicious. I'll be back for sure. I believe the bowl was $15 which is a bit high for lunch so i'll need to hustle and bussle some greens before I make it back over here. read more

I wish that there was some sort of sauce to pair with it, as it can be a bit dry! I asked for some Hosin sauce on the side & that helped a bit. A local college favorite! I came here on visiting my sister and this is her go to. We started off with the Fresh Spring Roll, I personally thought they were pretty lackluster, not much flavor even when dipped in the peanut sauce. I also tried the tofu bao and pho bao. The tofu bao didn't have much too it either, although the avocado and tofu textures went well together, there wasn't much flavor either. The pho bao I would get again. The beef was very tender and the crispy bean sprouts and hoisin sauce all balanced out very well. The chicken vermicelli was decent, didn't really stand out to me either. A large portion size though. Small for $4 in my opinion. Bao has one slice of pork belly and two pickled cucumber slices. First time had it. Was truly hoping it would be better. Mango Smoothie w pearls - 5 stars. Came here for the first time with my wife. We moved here recently from Hawaii where Pho restaurants are everywhere. I was happy to here there are a few spots here in Bryan/College Station. This place had good reviews so we thought we give it a try. We ordered the meatball pho (good in it's own way, but it wasn't a traditional pho that I make and have tasted elsewhere, even the soup texture was kinda thick like ramen broth), the bbq pork banh mi (super flavorful and juicy), spring rolls (super crispy and delicious especially with the fish sauce), and the Nam Special Fried Rice (dry and the lup cheung pieces looked kind of old, but the flavor was overall ok). We also ordered Thai tea in a bottle and Vietnamese iced coffee (both were yummy). It was strange because the pho looked perfect and the broth tasted legit but once we started stirring the rice noodles around and with the condiments, thats when it started getting thick like there was still starch on the noodles or something, not sure. The prices are decent and the portions is generous. The staff are friendly and fast. There is a lot of parking. Although this pho was pretty yummy in a ramen pho fusion type, it wasn't the same as back in Hawaii. It's like eating fresh sushi in Hawaii and coming here and eating "fresh" sushi in Texas. Can't beat Texas prices though. I will definitely be back for more banh mi and I would like to give the bbq pork and spring roll Vermicelli. read more

I typically love Nam Cafe, and with the cooler weather, I was craving pho. I always order the spicy pho with brisket to go, and it's always amazing. However, on this occasion, I opened up my bowl to find it packed with undercooked, large, spaghetti noodles rather than vermicelli. The pho usually comes with bean sprouts, jalapenos, basil, and hot sauces, but on this day it had only a couple of bean sprouts and a handful of purple cabbage. Not to mention the spicy broth that I typically love smelled and tasted fishy, and not at all like it usually does. I enjoy the convenience of Nam Cafe, but I regret saying that I will no longer be frequenting this establishment as the quality has been too hit-or-miss as of late. read more

You get 10% off with your receipt at the neighboring restaurant Bon Appetea. They didn't mind us eating our food there and drinking our tea. Great service, even better food. The lunch combo is a pretty great deal for the price. I had the brisket and meatball pho along with the egg roll and a drink. The egg roll was surprisingly good. However, the pho stole the show away. This was my first time having pho (or any Vietnamese food) and I enjoyed every bit of it. Super flavourful broth with noodles that had soaked every bit of the broth and had an amazing texture. The meat tasted great too (I preferred the meatball to the brisket). Service was great, with food being served within 5 minutes of ordering it. Will be back very soon! However, I have just one complaint, even though it is a minute thing. Not all of the tables are properly stocked with soup spoons or straws. You may have to borrow them from other tables at times. read more

Finally there's a good pho place in College Station. 5-Star for college Station level (so don't compare with Houston). I like the broth a lot. I've had some really good pho in Houston, and the pho broth I had here is very close to it. There are some other pho places in BCS area but they all tastes like adding to much msg. The broth here are very fresh and very tasty. The brisket in the soup is tender and moist. My friend ordered a dish, and compared with my pho, she said she like the pho more. I think this pho place and the banhmi place next to it are owned by the same person. So if you like the banhmi and boba, you should give a shot to this. read more
