So I'm finding all these new an interesting places to eat now that I work in the city. And it is fantastic.
Let's start with Bellini shall we. Which, is quite fabulous.
First of all; it's easy to find and nice to sit inside.
It does get busy over lunch time but not completely packed so if you're there with people you can hear each other speak or if you want you can zone out completely and read a book or if your into people watching go for it.
Secondly; the food is good.
I've been twice now. The first time I could only get a sandwich as the kitchen was closed but they toasted it up for me and the ingredients were fresh and there was heaps of salmon on my smoked salmon and cheese roll. I typically expect people to skimp on meat and fish but this was awesome.
The second time I went it was during lunch and I managed to order a steak off the menu. It was delicious. Perfectly cooked with these gorgeous potatoes and amazing flavours. I loved it.
Thirdly; it's reasonably priced.
They have a menu during the busy lunch period that you can order off and there's also the typically found selection of pre-made sandwiches and salads. All of these items are really well priced for a city location.
Plus there's a bar (not sure if I mentioned this but it's clearly the most important piece of information) and the drinks are a lot cheaper then you'll find most places in the CBD. I got my steak and a glass of wine for $30.
Fourthly; the staff.
Now this is, sadly, why Bellini aren't getting 5 stars in my book. The staff are disorganised. Really disorganised. The first time I went there it took them 10 minutes to find someone who could tell me that they weren't doing the menu, only sandwiches at that time of day. The second time I went there it took them 10 minutes to find someone who could serve me a glass of wine.
I've never had an unpleasant experience with them - really lovely, friendly people who are easy to smile but it shouldn't be that difficult to get organised in the job you do every day.
Anyway - to sum up! Food is amazing, price is great and the location is swell. Try it out. read more
