It has a lot more newly opened establishments than the Old Market, so I'm not positive how long it will stay as hoppin' as it is now. I've been to a few bars and restaurants in The Capitol District, and most of them were great, and a few were pretty decent. My favorites are J. Gilberts (for a fancy dinner), Let It Fly (for a delicious burger), Moe and Curly's (for Karaoke), DJ's Dugout (to catch a game) and Roxxy (for a fun 80s/90s bar atmosphere). I've also been to Net Par for a golf Yelp event, Annie's Irish Pub on a pub crawl, and The Stuffed Olive for a drink and some stuffed olives. And I put those on my good-not-great list, for when I'm deciding where I'll go when I head back to the Capitol District. There are a few spots I haven't tried yet down in The Capitol District so I'll for sure be back to hit my favorites, and check out some new ones. I recommend heading down there and scoping it out for yourself and seeing which business you'd be interested in checking it out. Just like any mall or market, there will be hits and misses - but the gems you find will be worth it!

The citrus herb grilled chicken had a lightness to it..herbs made it even more delicious.another of my absolute favorite was the hearty roasted squash soup ...topped with sunflower seeds for taste and texture. last but not least the berry cobbler...cherries, strawberries, topped with crispiness .it was a sweet light dessert for the win ..then the best part that completed the perfect night for ME was when I was nominated for Rookie of the year ...and surprisingly enough I won...I humbly accepted my award...smiled the rest of the night...knowing my journey has just begun! The dance floor / roller rink area isnt bad. I personally did not roller skate but had plenty of fun watching the kids wipe out or using the supplied walkers like 90 year olds. It had what looked like a full kitchen i sure you can lease out. Our group brought their own food and drinks but still able to use the kitchen to serve up. They had music going and the onsite staff was running that. The skates themselves probably all needed a lil attention. Some were way too tight so they couldn't pivot right. I think it'd be a pretty good venue for a wedding reception, kids b-day or otherwise depending on the cost. Its not too far out of town but still kinda out there. Its easy to get to because there are not many other roads to go down in Underwood. Get out there and have fun!

It's an easy to access location in northwest Omaha at 132nd & Fort and has a large parking lot. The venue is available to book for events such as weddings, family reuinions, corporate conferences, etc. According to their website they have a large and a small banquet room which together can accomodate 525-600 people. I had opportunity to visit at the recent Festa Italiana which the AIHS hosts every year as their major fundraiser. It was spacious, clean, modern, attractive and I really appreciated the large, clean women's restrooms. I did not see the kitchen but I've heard from a good source (one of the members of the AIHS) that's it's wonderful and since they used it to cook all that food for the Festa, they would know!

The building itself is clean and has a neat design and look both inside and out. I could see why this ranks highly as a venue. The lunch buffet is fairly popular and seems to have a regular crowd. They serve Italian and American fare for the same price as Golden Corral. The ingredients seemed decent, the food looks good, but the taste. Oh the taste! Where have you gone! The service is OK, though me and my buddies had weird experiences with one of their bus boys (not really a boy, more like a 60 year man). It was off-putting to say the least. It gets a big, fat Meh from me, at least for the lunch buffet.

The person who gave us a tour had an attitude like we were a huge inconvenience to them. After the tour, no one ever followed up with us.
