"Cincinnati needs a grocery store downtown."…read more I've stated or thought the above phrase multiple times during the last [gulp] 26 years that I've worked in downtown Cincinnati. I did not lie; aside from the 2020 COVID-lockdown months, I've shopped at the mini-Kroger on Court Street weekly since its grand opening. Can I find the perfect leg of lamb there? No. It's not Findlay Market nor Is it THE BIG SHOP store. However, it is perfect for picking up coffee, milk, seltzer, and salad supplies for the office, and filling in the gaps in the home cubbard. Impressive produce department, cheese selection , and baked goods. Solid selection of dry goods. Limited meat department, whose pre-portioned and seasoned offerings may appeal to millennials. (Got lamb? See above.) Convenient grab-n-go lunch assortment of deli meat and cheese, pre-made meals in the form of salads, sandwiches, and sushi.

YUCK!! I'm not shopping at a store where it's policy to have ill employees come cough and sneeze all over food they expect me to buy. Forget that! I'll happily shop elsewhere.

Most checkout staff take great care in making sure my groceries are treated with gentleness and care even to the point of rubber banding those pesky egg and fruit cartons that pop open on the car ride home. Michael is a stand out rockstar! I wish I could remember more names (I'm better with faces). Every time I needed to see a manager about something my issue was resolved. Heading over to Pharmacy to give them the same rating! (Edit) Apparently there's no option for separating the Pharmacy. This is now my number one and only pharmacy that I use and it's squarely on the head pharmacist and the staff. Fast, efficient, great pricing and above and beyond the call on making sure that my refills are taken care of on time. To the point where I was switched from a 30 day to 90 day at a better price with an auto refill function that prompts my Doctor when I'm out of refills.

BTW, the quality was just as high in every one we visited, I simply picked this location to review because in an interesting neighborhood that's very pleasant to stroll around in.

But let me tell you - this place has come in for the win so many times we've lost count. They have household items, eggs, rice, limes/lemons, beer and wine! (And surprisingly some good wine!) The owner is friendly, and overall it's a step above your typical bodega.

The prices are very fair; the products are quality top notch and "Cheyenne" aka Jerry Rex Peluso or "Mr. Retired Mayor" makes the BEST sandwiches. It always makes me feel so good to come back home and know some traditions are still around town. Stop in any time, but the holidays always make it more special because the old-time traditions with candy or other products that take you back to childhood are available. The friendly smile for childhood friends as well as first time visitors as you enter the store let you know you are welcome and they are glad to see you. This place definitely is a landmark on Monmouth Street, and I wish the family many more years of success! With Love, Michelle Florence

I appreciate the "What's the name on the order?" as opposed to just ask if you're the name on the order! This location has it all....clothing line, liquor store (separate building), Fifth Third Bank, and a little clinic. We were looking for a particular item in the seafood section.
