Julia is amazingly helpful with everything on the administrative side. We have been fighting with our insurance company over repayment and Julia is a complete bulldog. She's patient and persistent and 100% on your side. If you EVER need a periodontist or implant dentist you MUST do yourself the favor of seeing Dr. Britten and the people in his office. (In case you're wondering, I'm not related to anyone there, I'm just such a dental coward that finding a place I can go and get perfect care without stressing out every time makes me so happy.)

I I am very disappointed in my visit to Dr. Kobernick's office…read more Prior to my first appointment, I was very clear with multiple staff members that one topic was off the table, as I was aware that Dr. Kobernick is professionally trained in two areas of dental work. This was shared, as I am a very documented anxious person, and I wanted to avoid a panic attack. However, he brought this up within the first two minutes of our visit, causing a panic attack. I'm not sure where the mishap occurred, but either he or his staff dropped the ball in providing extremely relevant case notes. Investing in orthodontic treatment is a pricy decision. In my opinion, he provided me false hope about our treatment options. Knowing he held all the power; I don't think it's right to provide me with hope for a future, that isn't possible. While I regret getting upset, I wish he would have warned me that he was going to deliver gut punching news, especially after making me feel that hope existed or at least be understanding as to why a negative reaction would occur. He wasn't. While I have to accept his decision to not work together, its sad to be that he could help me, but would rather see a person continue to suffer. While he may be a qualified dentist, he was pretty heartless to me.

I had a friend who worked here as a dental hygienist and she loved her job so much that she said I should shadow her. I did and starting liking dentistry. Dr. Kobernick hired me as a dental assistant for my day off from my other (lifeguarding) job. I was really just assisting an assistant who had just had wrist surgery. Dr. Kobernick is a helpful teacher and is a good boss. They did not have a full time dental assistant job opening for me, so I did not stay there long. I got a full-time dental assisting job and then went on to dental hygiene school. After I got my license in 2005, Dr Kobernick hired me as a dental hygienist! The dental assistant, Kimmer, was still there! She was more than an assistant though. That dental hygienist had moved away but Holly was there. I loved working in the room next to her. She loves her patients and they love her. While I was there, Holly was the Pinellas County Dental Hygienists' Association President. I had to cut back to only work part time when I had my first baby, so I am not still working there. But I still go back just to say hi every once in a while. They have such a great team. :-) There is absolutely no staff turnover. Right when I started, I was so impressed that at our morning huddle, Dr Kobernick knew the special wants and request of each patient. He knows all of the patients by name and is so personable so professional. He and his team know how to have fun at work while keeping the quality excellent. Dr Kobernick did my crown lengthening procedure. I needed it on all of my top teeth. He had an opening the day before Thanksgiving because normal people would not think to schedule a surgery on their mouth before an eating holiday. I was nervous myself, but I ate and ate too much like usual! I seriously tell people to get it done by him! My only regret is that I wish I had done the procedure before my wedding pictures! There was nothing to fear! Also of note: they send out funny holiday cards each year. I love holiday cards especially when they are creative. I think it says a lot for a business when the boss listens to the employees and actually implements their crazy ideas. They had a guessing game for when my (first) baby would be born. Patients liked being involved. The office works as a team without gossip. Well I'm sure there's some:) Instead of their St. Pete office being in one of the tall buildings downtown, they have a beautiful new office on 4th Street. So go to Dr. K and tell them I say hi!

Was told there was pus coming from inside of second molar. Do I need an antibiotic? "What for?" was the answer. Oh and all this teeth pulling, "might give me 5 years before I'll need to have them all pulled" and not a candidate for implants. I think they should change their name to Pinellas Tooth Pulling Service. FOLLOWUP: Having bone grafting by Dr. Crawford in St Petersburg. NO teeth being pulled!

I walked out of the treatment room and they took a panoramic xray then numbed him out .... once the xray came out they said oh its an implant and charged him close to 1300 for an implant that was basically waving in the wind. As a former Registered Dental Assistant i was in total shock. It took the doctor less than two minutes to extract it. I insisted my husband call back and he spoke to the Dr who agreed he had been overcharged. 2 months later the Dr Pikos will not come to the phone despite 5 or 6 attempts to speak to him. No refund has been given. I am going to file a complaint with my insurance company as this is quite poor business.
