I recently went in to have Belle look at my cars tires/alignment. The car was pulling. I explained the issue and the sales person put it in for a wheel alignment which cost over $100 and then charged me 50% more for a "protection plan" without discussing it with me, further gouging me for $. The alignment did not solve the problem, I took it to my actual mechanic and they explained that Belle rarely actually does the work they claim they did and actually fixed the issue. I spent over 150 for zero work. I also listened to the counter people try to poach customers from their own company, the customer came to the wrong location on accident. They are 100% predatory, even to coworkers. I am never going to them again if I can help it. read more

I should've checked the reviews before going to Bell tire in Plainwell, Michigan. I had an 11 o'clock appointment to get my tires rotated was told it was going to be an hour waited an hour for them to come out and tell me that they're not going to do it because I just need to get new tires. Meanwhile, all the workers are standing behind the counter eating Burger King talking to their girlfriend. Talking about getting with it was a joke would not recommend to anybody. read more

took my wife's Lincoln MKC in to have tires looked at, always losing air, they looked at that, repaired them, on the drive home , there was a clunking noise in the rear, i checked it out, Belle Tire broke the rear sway bar link, took it back in, spoke to the manager, Jeffrey, he said they didn't do it, well it wasn't broke when i took it in there, said he wouldn't repair without charge, but then said he would do it at a discounted price, hmmmm, sounds like maybe they did break it. Not a happy customer, the vehicle rear sway bar link was broke while Belle tire had it in their possession. Awful customer service, so now i have to repair myself, for something Belle Tire broke...i have purchased thousands of dollars in tires there, i wont be back!!!!!....terrible customer service!!!! read more

At checkout the assistant manager Eugene, Gene added the yearly warranty without asking. As soon as I asked about it, he removed the extra $45 protection plan. He saw two women walk in and thought he could sneakily take advantage of them. He was unprofessional and demeaning when he spoke to us. I asked how long the car would take and they said "maybe an hour or so" and we walked down to McDonald's for some breakfast while we waited. Please read! Take Pictures!!! Make sure you have someone with you while you drop off your car and make sure you have your spare in the event that they can't fix your tire. I took my four-door sedan in for a "free patch" on my passenger rear tire for a screw puncture and ended up getting charged for a different tire (lesser might I add) for over $100. The screw was one inch inside the tread and I was stupid, and didn't take any pictures or anything because I was certain that this business had honor and dignity to uphold. Especially for that piece of marketing! Unfortunately, I was wrong. Not only did I leave the facility with a lesser tire, but my brakes scream now. I wish I had just thought to use my spare, but the guy was talking with such urgency, "we've been so generous to get you in as a walk in, after a four hour wait, and it's already up on the hydraulics..." I came back to get a refund on the tire protection plan I did not consent to purchase and the same man at the front desk, who said he looked over my tire personally, immediately became defensive and cut me off every other word I tried to say, dismissing my concerns with conviction as though that was supposed to make me feel assured. At first when I came in to discuss the placement of the screw he said, "No, the screw was right at the edge, here," pointing to the inoperable flexing edge of the tire, and when I said, "No, it was here," and pointed to the tread inside the tire's width, he said, "no, yeah, there was one there too. I meant we found another one in the edge here, but it's your prerogative, if you think I'm lying." Um, guilty conscience much? So he's putting words in my mouth and now I'm getting defensive, and at this point, I'm fed up with the lack of customer service, so, I just want to get a refund back for the automatic charge for the tire plan nobody asked me about and he keeps bickering at me, trying to manipulate me into just giving up my ground with him, because the conversation isn't productive, meanwhile, he's doing all of the talking. He was so angry within five minutes of me voicing my concerns over the quality and integrity of his (personal) business that his hands were shaking as he typed in my name. He then said he'd put notes on my file and that I should never come back, as if his "customer service" would ever see anybody back when he dismisses their genuine questions and concerns with that kind of attitude. And moreover, he said all the females in his family always get proper service. Well, no duh, they're your family! He told me I should speak up if I'm uncomfortable, but then cut me off every time I had to say something and called me rude and disrespectful. So, what am I supposed to do, then? I told the other guys; they're doing a great job (because they didn't screw up my service), and I hope they have personal integrity. The guy in charge was furious and wished me a very condescending good day. Anyway, don't go here unless you have so many receipts for proper and fair service that it'll be indisputable. Me being naïve and trusting, that was stupid on my part. I should've been loyal to my local mechanic because he cares about return business not the upfront dollar. I have been a loyal customer to Belle Tire for the last 5 years, I have bought 2 sets of tires for both our cars, had multiple repairs and always received good/ok care. Well I'm not sure what has changed in the last couple months, but that is no longer the case. I have a slow leak in my tire and called for an appointment. I was told to just come leave my car next Tuesday, that's fine I just have to figure out kids/animal care, how to leave my car and get a ride home and then pick up, and also working remotely that day. I called to confirm the next day that I could still do that and the man was so patronizing, rude, and unhelpful that I just decided I would never go back. I have a local mechanic I go to for all other car issues and now Harringtons has my tire business too. I understand being busy and not having an appointment for me, but to treat people the way I was treated is unacceptable. I went in for 1 tire as I picked up a nail. It was too close to sidewall so wasn't repairable, none in stock so Rob ordered a new one which took 4 days to come in. He asked me to come back but call 1st. I called tire was in so I went in to have it installed. They said 8 to 10 hours, yikes! I asked if they could just put it on rim and I could try to put it on, however they charge to put on vehicle regardless so I asked if they could just throw it on, after that employees were very rude, lost my keys after 1 hr and I don't think I was even in line for tire to be put on. Heard the employees talking bad about me as I had changed my mind about having tire put on vehicle. Don't think I will come back, felt very uncomfortable. Regardless, they wanted to charge him $147 for a single Fiesta tire. Walmart's price was $78 installed, and tire disposal for the old one, for the same size tire. Belle is WAY overpriced. Had 4 new tires installed on Saturday. By Wednesday one of them was flat. Took the car in to fix the tire. They told me 1 1/2 - 2 hour wait. I decided to wait. After 4 hours, they finally decided to roll the car in the garage. 4 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today, i noticed another tire is going flat. Because of warranty, I will take it to another Belle Tire and have them remount all 4 tires. I am not sure this location knows what it is doing. Place blows I went in for an appointment was even 15 minutes early. I needed one tire already off my car changed and put back on. How long did this take no not the 20 minutes you would expect but over an hour for one tire already off the car. I went up after like a half hour to make sure they weren't changing all 4 tires. When I went up I had to wait to be helped no not because there was people in line but because the employees were on their phones! Even with an appointment, the wait time is substantial. The first time I went in for two new tires, it took them 2 hours. The second time that I went in for 2 more tires and alignment, it took 2 and 1/2 hours. Ordered 5 tires via the website a week prior to installation and scheduled appt for Saturday morning at 9am. Arrived for appointment and was told 1-1.5 hours to install the tires so I waited.. 2 hrs passed and FINALLY the vehicle was pulled outside. Paid for the tires and the service writer tells me 'we didn't have the tires you ordered so I gave you an 'upgrade'.. What??? I looked out at my Jeep to find standard radial tires installed, NOT the all terrain tires I ordered. I stated that 'those are not all terrain tires!' He said he would make it right and asked for the keys, which he had never given back to me.. they were still in the ignition. He showed me some tires on the computer that he could swap in. I agreed to that set and they pulled the vehicle back in. Minutes later, he came back to tell me they only had 4 of the tires in stock, not the 5 needed and that the 5th would not be in until Tuesday and they could hold the spare and install the tire when it arrived... I then asked if they had anything else in stock in all terrains that they had 5 of. He looked and informed me that they did and showed me what they had. I agreed to those tires. So now we are looking at having to wait for those to be installed, I watched as some of the technicians stand around and gab as a lone technician changes my tires out and balances them / puts my vehicle back together. Is there no teamwork here? So arrived at 8:50am out at 1:00pm... for 5 tires, and not the ones I originally ordered, at least an upgrade thus the 2 stars. Also the promise of a free future oil change that I will not be taking advantage of. The Saturday after thanksgiving is a busy time for tire places. I realize that, so I called the day before. All appointments were booked, however, they said if I brought the car in for a snow tire transfer as soon as they opened, they could realistically get me in and out within 2 hours. I was there a quarter to eight. I spent 5 hours waiting for a relatively quick service, watching as the automotive specialists lumbered along, stopping frequently to chat. The only saving grace to this experience was the $32 they took off the final bill. My advice is to bring a really good book next time you wait for tire service. read more

I bought new tires at this location. When they finished putting them on, the service advisor told me that I needed hundreds of dollars of brake work, basically replace everything. I was skeptical and decided to get a second opinion. He told me he didn't recommend that as I was in the verge of a catastrophic brake failure. Long story short, next day the dealer told me I needed new brake pads only, and it should be done "within the next month". No immediate danger, and no hundreds of dollars of unnecessary repairs. Talking to a friend, I found she had the same thing happen. When her husband went back in, the guy told him that she must have misunderstood what they were saying. Ordered 4 tires. Had to wait few days to be delivered. Went to appointment talked to tech. All seemed well, left truck. Hr later Got call my tires were not in. But they could go up a size for 22 more dollars. Wasnt happy cause I already paid close to 500. But said ok, went back when finished. To be told they had to go up 2 more brands but wasnt gonna charge any more cause they seen I wasnt thrilled so they were gonna do me a solid. Took survey online. Got email back sayin they shouldnt of charges me 22 to come get refund. Well within 3 days I was takin truck back because 2 were leaking. So while there i asked about refunf of 22. Was lopked at like I was dumb n no one knew nothing. So i said never mind. Fix tires. After almost 2 hr wait. I left hr later they called to say they were ready. Um nope had to work. But since every 3 days we have to fork out money at air tank to fill these brand new tires . not to mention the additude im getting from husband cause I talked him into them and there was rebate. Four new tires were installed on my AWD Equinox 7 months ago. I continued to have issues with 3 out of 4 tires holding air in the time following. The technicians tried to resolve the problem 3 different times after the initial install but each time the tire pressure dropped on all 3. They had patched a nail in one of the tires, but it continued to leak after 2 patch attempts (I understand the initial nail hole is not their fault). The other tires kept on leaking at the bead despite redoing it each time. I didn't have any issues with my tires leaking air prior to getting the new set from Bell Tire. Furthermore, the tire pressure sensors were not programmed to the correct tire during the initial install. In addition to their poor technical abilities, the customer service is meager as well. I scheduled an appointment and when I showed up, they did not have it on their calendar. One occurrence, they left my window unrolled, while it was outside, in the middle of December. The plastic seat protector and paper floor mat were left in my car when done working on it. On the second attempt to fix my tires, the manager assigned his 'best' technician to the job and told me he would personally inspect the tires and sign off on it. The tires still leaked. Each time I asked what would be done to ensure they didn't leak, the service employee told me they would personally look at the tires. One even suggested "we would have to baby the problem" the last time I told them my tires continued to leak, which was the 4th trip into the store to let them know I had low tire pressure again. They were unwilling to do anything more than trying to 'fix' the tires when I spoke with them the final time. Based on previous experience with Bell Tire in the last 7 months, I had lost all faith in their ability to fix the issue as they had tried 3 times already. read more

I have been a loyal customer if Plainwell BelleTire for years and years. Currently I keep four vehicles returning for tires and service. This last visit was a disaster. I am so annoyed with them right now; I wish I had some way to address my complaints. When I made my appointment, I made sure that it was clear that I needed to be out in time to leave for a 2:30 appointment. Arriving exactly at 1:30, as I was assured would give me enough time, no one was at all concerned that my appointment had not even been recorded. After waiting for 40 minutes, in became totally clear that no attempt was being made to fit me in, and no service was going to get me in and out in time for my appointment. This actually is the second really negative experience here. I had a whole series of items misordered, not delivered, appointments not kept when scheduled just last December. I came here because I needed new brakes. The staff stated my front brakes needed replaced but my back ones had 40% life left. They replaced my front brakes and rotors, this ended up costing $500. Immediately I noticed squealing while slowing down. I took it back after a couple weeks. They stated there was no squealing, I must have heard it when they were wet or something. I may be a woman however I am not completely stupid. It was summer, hot, brakes were not wet. They said it must be my back brakes but they heard nothing. I specifically told them it was while slowing down, however it smelled like they had gunned it and stomped on my brakes. The manager rode with me and of course they only squealed once. He said let them get worn in. I gave it some more time and the squealing continued to worsen. I came back again, 3k miles later, with the same complaint. The squealing was happening at every braking episode. They kept my car and it magically didn't squeal the whole time. The way the men spoke to me made me feel as if they could give two shits less about my experience and money, and that i probably know nothing. I will never go back to this location. Got new tires put on. Took significantly longer than they said it would. They didn't clean out the car afterward​. There was grease, dirt, and oil on the steering wheel, shifter, seat, and inside handle. Was also told they had locations in Illinois (which they don't) as a selling point because I was worried about needing them serviced. I went in for frozen bearings in a front wheel. I waited several hours as mechanics seemed to stroll along slowly and talk with customers about auto unrelated issues. They did not come to give a progress report and the fee was $385.00 for the bearings! A week later I ended up with a HUGE power steering leak in my driveway. I took it back to Belle because I thought they might have caused it when it was in for the bearing issue. They said there was "no way they could have caused the power steering pump and leads to leak" while working on the wheel bearings. They gave me a quote and said they would order the parts. I left my 2006 Ford Escape with them for a week (driving my 87 year old mother's car in the meantime) and they STILL did not have it done! They said they had to "call ALL OVER MICHGAN to find the parts" and they found the "LAST ONES". After installation, the power steering began to squeal a week later. When I called in to have them check their work, they could not remember me or my repairs! I brought the car back to them to "see where the leak was" inside their garage for another hour long wait. They said one of the new leads they put on the Escape were leaking. They would "ask their guy where he ordered them" and "replace them under warranty". By Wednesday the next week I had not heard a word back from them so I called. AGAIN THEY COULD NOT RECALL ME, MY CAR OR WHAT WAS NEEDED FOR REPAIRS! They want me to bring it back in again so they can look at which "one of the leads may be leaking" when I asked why they didn't determine that on Friday when they had it in for that purpose. They apologized and said the mechanic neglected to look! Now they want me to bring the Escape BACK IN ON MONDAY and I say..."you didn't allow me to replace ONE of the leads when the original leak took place" I had to pay for both because you said you "could not determine which one was leaking" To me, that works both ways, you cannot determine which ONE is leaking now and you made me pay to replace both leads..why can you NOW replace only one lead when the fee is coming out of your pocket??? I think I need to get some other opinions and maybe see a lawyer! Oh, and every mechanic in the area says Belle Tire in Plainwell is dishonest. PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I am a military wife and can tell you this place has no value for customer service at ALL.. I am currently with a husband deployed and I am by myself with two children. I took my vehicle here one late Friday night after work, as it was making a noise that did not sound good. The manager was so nice and told me not to worry as he was going to figure it out and get it fixed and I will be on my way. It turned out it was a wheel bearing and my tyrod. They had to order the tyrod and they fixed the wheel bearing for me. So the manager told me it was going to be ordered and to check back. So I called Monday since did not hear anything from them on Friday. I guess that should have been my first sign as to how well their customer service was. They told me the part came in that if I could bring my car up drop it off they would have it fixed in a hour. I dropped it off and a hour later received a phone call that the part was in but it was the wrong part in the right box. They apologized and said this sometimes happens. I totally understood. Appreciated them calling me. I then said my mom was in town and I could borrow her car to work tomorrow if need be. They said great we will keep it and get the right part first thing in the morning and have it on and done no later than 11 am. Now the next day I am at work and not receiving any phone calls on my cell phone. I came home from work and decided to call up there to find out what is going on with my nissan van. The guy put me on hold for the longest time and apologized it looks like the part came again in the wrong box. I then said I will be in to get my keys. I went in to Belle Tire to see them all behind the desk eating donuts and licking their fingers (REALLY???!!!). And I asked for my keys and the guy apologized to me yet again, while the manager said nothing as he finished his donut. I looked at all of them and said I didn't get the courtesy of a PHONE CALL???? My time is just as valuable as theirs. And when you are trying to be a mom and work full time running a house hold by yourself you shouldn't have to double check with places to make sure they are doing the job that they told you they were going to do. And I know in my profession when a customer walks into a place of business what they see and how they are greeted is always a first impression. Just a heads up to the manager allowing a hang out social area of donut eating at the greeting desk. I kind of wish I would have seen the signs of bad customer service in the beginning it would have saved me much important and valued time. read more
