It's far enough away that you can get a decent night's sleep (once you get used to the traffic and thin walls of am old house). It has charm, feels safe due to the fenced-in yard, and the southern hospitality your expect in these parts. Patrick was communicative before we arrived, ensuring he was aware when we would check in and offering to accommodate an early check in if available. Karma was wonderful, as well! We missed our first breakfast due to having a swamp tour. We were at to meet our bus for that at the time breakfast starts. I let Patrick know in advance and he said to remind them the day before, which happened to be our check in day. He said they could do eh sandwiches or something if we were OK with that. We agreed those sounded perfect - warm and portable on a chilly February morning. Karma had them ready for us in a little carry out bag, along with a couple surprises: warm banana bread slices, a fresh fruit cup (which was a perfect snack on the bus back from the swamp), some Sunny D, and some waters. It was all quite thoughtful and very tasty! The next morning we enjoyed praline French toast casserole, which was delicious but I couldn't finish it! (Another individual was having scrambled eggs and dry toast so they can accommodate if you opt out of the breakfast of the day) Coffee, with and without chicory, was available. Tea was also available, which was nice in the cold evenings. Patrick offered tips on where to see parades for those in town for Mardi Gras, and tips on other sights as well. We'd certainly return!

Our host was pretty accommodating and let us keep our stuff for longer in our room when we needed to hold our luggage. The kitchen is full of snacks, coffee, and other beverages that can be accessed at any time. Our room was outside the main house but it was cute. It had a hot tub inside with a ton of different bubble settings. I really liked the effervescent salt that came as a packet to use with the tub. For breakfast, it was available anytime between certain hours. The breakfast came with the most amazing chicory coffee. It was honestly the best chicory coffee I have ever had. Food wise we had the Monte Cristo rolls. I really liked the jelly with the ham and cheese.

Linda (the owner) gave us a fair&unbeatable price for the Larger poolside suite despite it being Mardi Gras, Valentine's day, as well as it being the weekend when we arrived. Linda was a DOLL! She took care of us, fluffed our room when we were out & reloaded our fridge with breakfast daily. She showed us around the place and welcomed us like family. I truly felt like I was at mom's house. True southern hospitality. We had a few good talks about the history of her house and her life as she once lived in New Orleans. My fiancé enjoyed talking with Linda as New Orleans is where he was born and raised. Despite our talks, Linda does not hover! Which was so appreciated, when you're on a "romantic"vacation. We had our own privacy during our stay as each suite is separate and inaccessible from where Linda stays in her home. We came and went as we please and used the hot tub at night as late as we wanted. We had our own private entrance, which was incredibly nice. The privacy was appreciated as I didn't know what to expect when we first arrived, but I was prepared to be open minded. I think I will always choose a Bed and Breakfast over a lousy hotel in the future. The rooms were grand and clean. The bathroom was nice and the shower as well. Everything was clean. Its just an old house, but I loved the cottage vibes. It was home-y. The town is walkable and cute! A Mardi Gras parade came right through down the street, during our last day there, which was nice. The poolside porch and hot tub made me feel like I was at a resort. The beauty of the home is breathtaking! Romantic cottage vibes! Perfect for couples or even a small girls trip. I will definitely be back to Linda's next year when we visit again for Mardi Gras. Linda has made me never want to stay at a hotel again.

We had more than enough space for an entire family plus a grown kids significant other. Such a beautiful setting on the water with a private fishing dock and pool for cooling down. Every detail was attended to. Lenny and Cathy are very personable and gave recommendations for meals and charters in the area; they are incredibly accommodating, doing far more than expected to make everyone comfortable and feel welcome. We came in after a long day in NOLA to find laundry done, toilet paper and food restocked, and more mints by the bed like the night we arrived....we even had wine waiting for us upon arrival! We made friends with their sweet old dog Meia Belle and the friendly boxer Lexi that belongs to the neighbor (she's smart enough to open the door and let herself in if you don't lock the door!). We can't rave about this place enough!

First, I've never even heard of this town, so it was a pleasant surprise to check it all out and fall in love. This B&B has so much charm and you can tell how much the owners love it. The house itself has been very well maintained. We were the only guests in the main house that night, so we had the whole house to ourselves. They left out snacks and drinks for us, left the lights on, and unlocked the doors, as we arrived well after the check in time. We were in the master suite, which had a king sized bed with a sleep number mattress. Awesome! Plenty of space in the room to make ourselves comfortable. The bathroom was big with a separate toilet area. Also, I'm a sucker for clawfoot tubs. It was a very charming room to spend a night in. We had a vegetarian breakfast the following morning, which consisted of scrambled eggs, stuffed French toast, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice. All very delicious! Lastly, this place is pet friendly and close to restaurants and shops! If you're ever in town, please check this place out!

Beautiful house and gardens. Michael, the owner, was great. Loved the beautiful room with the comfy bed and the lovely huge soaking tub that was perfect for a long bubble bath. It is in walking district to everything in the "Old Mandeville" area and so close to the lakefront. We walked to all of the surrounding bars and dining spots and just felt so relaxed !!!! The lakefront is lined with beautiful, raised, opulant Creole Cottages and huge trees dripping in spanish moss, it is a beautiful area. My advice is "GO STAY THERE", Micheal is a great host and we loved "Baby Cat", the 20-yeear old, one-eyed kitty who was our welcoming mascot.
