Since I had just retired after 25 years in the Army (that same month), I took this as a sign from the Universe it was time to sit down and take a break! I spent the next few months on the business plan, creating content, and confirming my passion to offer healing services to the community. The studio re-opened in June 2020 for reiki, then yoga classes shortly after, but at 1/2 capacity. Since then, I have been building momentum, adding classes, and seeing new faces every week. This is just the beginning as I'm adding more instructors and class diversity/ times as the studio evolves. Everyday is a new experience in business, the community, and most of all, the healing process. Come see how we've grown, how we've persevered. The Yoga instructors are totally different, each has her own rhythms and cadences as she gently but firmly guides you through a session. The studio itself is comfortable and comforting. The atmosphere is calm although the yoga challenges each practitioner to the fullest extent of her ( or his) capabilities. These are obviously experienced and impeccably trained teachers who skillfully push each student to explore her ability and focus. Despite my age and obvious inexperience I have never left a yoga class with any pain or discomfort, and yet I feel myself strengthening and becoming more flexible. as I leave each session I drive away already looking forward to my next class. The props such as mats, bolsters, blocks etc. are clean, fresh and easily accessible. I strongly recommend these two studios ( New Albany and Jeffersonville) in every way and hope to see you there..

The studio is on the side of the building, and there is ample parking right in front of the studio. Upon entering, I received a friendly greeting and signed in. The studio is a big open space. I attended the slow flow class, and it was very enjoyable. Brooke was a great instructor with wonderful spirit and great instruction. The class put me in a good mind space and was a perfect flow. The end was a special treat, as Brooke brought around eye masks for us during shavasana, and she also came and did a little hands on work on our shoulders during that time. That was such a pleasant way to end the class. Check on the Facebook for Rebel Yoga with Brooke for any updates. For example, the first class is free (at least of writing this), and they posted that on Facebook. There are also packages available, or you can just do a drop in class here or there. Brooke has whatever options you may need! This a great yoga studio; I recommend checking it out!

I love that a local hometown girl is following her dream and helping the community get more zen! I attended the opening event and was greeted by Brooke and supporting friends and family. They had refreshments and drinks for everyone. Kids were dancing and the vibe was great. The space is open with a fresh and clean look. There is a tentative schedule that includes Gentle, Rebel, and Slow Flow most days. I cannot wait to hear about some of the upcoming workshops! ‍ Rebel Yoga is on the side of Penn Station behind Arby's. The strip mall is a mixed bag but I always visit Feeders Supply to see kittens when I'm down there! Yoga and kittens in the same strip mall- what else do you need in life?

My biggest fear was that I wouldn't 'fit in' and I would be surrounded by yoga enthusiasts who had practiced for years and I wouldn't be able to 'measure up.' What I found at PM Yoga was just the opposite! All of the instructors that I have met have been welcoming, supportive, and very knowledgeable! The clientele have been friendly and very non-judgemental and welcoming. There are yogis with various levels of ability in the classes and I have never felt judged or inferior as a newbie! The studio is always clean and well-organized and it offers a variety of classes (there is something for everyone) 6 days a week at convenient times. Yoga props are provided free of charge and mats are available for rent. The building is conveniently located on Shelbyville Rd, but can be entered from the back (Main Street-Middletown) as well. While I have never attended another studio for comparison, I have heard friends mention that in their studios the instructors walk around and observe participants while offering guidance and correction on poses. I think this would be very helpful and would be an improvement at PM Yoga. In addition, I have heard about 'gratitude pricing' and 'senior discounts' at other studios which would also be a potential improvement. I am so happy that I found PM Yoga and am happy it is in my neighborhood! I will continue to go as long as my wallet will allow!
