Mehmet's is an ace little place. Full on huge, hot portions, comfy seats, strong coffee and fast service. It's no frills, a few pictures decorate the walls, but there are nice big windows to check out all the fun of suburbia walking past. The prices are cheap as can be, but this doesn't reflect badly on the place - the black pudding is one of the best I've ever tasted, and you can see the entire kitchen, so you can tell it's nice and clean. They are located in a caravan-style bar, which can be found close to Lambeth Bridge on the southbank side. They have some outdoor seating, so you can sit and enjoy the perfect Westminster view -- as long as the weather is appropriate! You can choose which coffee bean you would like out of a pleasant range, and the barista will lovingly prepare a perfect latte. Likewise, make a choice out of their 20+ speciality tea leaves, such as Dragon Well or scented Earl Grey. Also they have homemade cakes, which are simply amazing, and they will give you a giant portion so it could make for a naughty lunch on the riverside. If you are bumming around the Southbank, maybe going on the London Eye or getting some nice riverside photos of Westminster, I would highly recommend going to check out this place and enjoy a nice coffee or tea break. You won't regret it!

When I went to ask where my order was, there was no apology, just a reply 'it's coming' as if it was reasonable to keep someone waiting so long. When my coffee finally arrived it had syrup in it. I took it back and politely asked them to change it. They denied that there was syrup in there - basically accusing me of lying. I asked for a refund. They were reluctant to refund me and behaved as if I was being unreasonable. The money was eventually put on the counter with a bad attitude and there was no apology. I can't see this business lasting long if this is the way they treat their customers

What a predicament tis that I must choose one or two. Walking by we couldn't help but notice the window display. So many tasty treats to tempt the eye and stomach of each and every street goer. We decided to purchase a few items. It is hard to remember the items that we purchased. We took our take away and continued to tour Greenwich and other stops before making it back to our hostel. Upon our arrival our desserts did not appear as when we left due to the jostling along the way. But, the treats were still tasty and delectable. They hit the spot. Thanks so much to the employees who helped us make our choices. They were kind and knowledgeable. Everyone here was overwhelmingly friendly!!

Thanks to Yelp, I found the branch of Konditor and Cook bakery closest to the theatre. The entire staff was very helpful over the telephone and via email as well as live chat. My daughter and the other members of her troupe all agreed it was one of the best tasting cakes they'd experienced I am looking forward to visiting the store next month when we visit our daughter in London. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it was somewhat pricey with dollars vs. pounds. I would recommend this bakery for any American who has someone overseas in London and needs a cake for a special occasion.
