Frustrating credit union to start doing business with, yet I think people are afraid to give them bad reviews because they are so NICE. I am updating this review after being with Bellco for three years. My first couple months with them were a chore, however I have remained at Bellco for their friendly service and convenient locations. Here is a snapshot of the initial issues: Account #1: Personal account. My debit card never arrived. After waiting two weeks, I was asked to come into the branch so they could remake my card for me on the spot. I arrived within two hours and the branch's card printer was broken. They sent me to another location to get my card made. It then took until our 3rd month to start receiving paper bank statements. Account #2: The business account. Second verse, same as the first: Wait two weeks, card never arrives. This time this branch was able to reissue me a card. The card, however, did not work for purchases or at ATMs. Swallow hard ... another trip back to the branch. After a teller was unable to fix my card, a manager went through my account and said it had not been setup correctly. As an added bonus, a 2nd debit card was issued on my account that I did not know about and never received. Fantastic. On two occasions my weekly scheduled internal account-to-account transfers stopped working. These transfers worked for months and then stopped for no reason. The first time it happened, transfers did not work for a few weeks. For the second time they did not work for a week. In both cases, Bellco did not alert me, I had to discover it for myself. Notes for BUSINESS ACCOUNTS: You must use an Excel 1997-esque "Financial Management" page to create a report that generates a transaction history that you able to export/download if you need to look at several weeks or months. This makes monthly accounting duties take longer. Also, my old credit union issued a business debit card on day one, and free checks arrived within 10 days. At Bellco, I had to order my own checks on my own time and on my own dollar. Their tellers are 5-star people and excellent, as our their numerous locations. For these two reasons, I have looked past the initial issues and have stayed with Bellco. read more

Looking for the lowest auto loan you can find? CHECK. Looking for a great Credit Union that offers deals/discounts/rates? CHECK. Looking for friendly & helpful staff? CHECK. Bellco really does have a lot to offer! I recently came here to finance a car and not only found everything i listed above, but had a great experience here! :) read more

I don't know who thought this miserable idea would be well received by their public, but Let's take banking hours and make them even more inconvenient by reducing them to only 4 hours open per day read more

We have been dealing with Velia "financial specialist" for a small loan. I have contacted her several times to contact us about our loan and have never heard back. It has been 5 days and still haven't heard. She stated she would contact us within 24 hours. I sent her personal information and she has never stated she received my information. This is horrible business practice! So disappointed with this credit union. I thought credit unions were designed to help people. I would love to have a manager contact me. read more

An elderly friend of ours fell for the your grandson is in trouble and asked for 5,000 dollars in cash. She went in today and the teller never asked her what is was for. Aren't the tellers trained to ask questions regarding large cash withdrawals Especially from an elderly person. Thank heaven she was directed to go to Wells Fargo and wait by the ATM for a phone call. The customer service representative asked her what she was waiting for and had her call her grandson. read more

So I leased a vehicle with Bellco back in 2019. In April of 2022, I decided to term my lease. I notified Bellco of it, they in return, had CULA (Credit Union Leasing of America) get in touch with me afterwards and start the process of returning the vehicle. Fast forward August 2022, I get a call from an investigator from ProFounders assuming I still had the vehicle. I explained to them that the vehicle was returned back in April and Bellco knew about it. Needless to say, the investigator from ProFounders was just as confused as I was. How could Bellco not know that CULA took care over it and the vehicle had been in their possession since April? Ultimately, the case was closed. *Think twice before agreeing to lease a vehicle with Bellco.. read more

They are making it really hard to keep banking with them. I am a long-standing customer, but they are so incredibly bad at the most important part of banking, the customer service part. Bellco offers good products, from loans to accounts. Low fees, low interest rates, but the in-bank customer service has been atrocious for the past 3 years. If all you need is to deposit and withdraw, they're fine. Otherwise, beware the rest. The latest in my bad service at Bellco is just me wanting to open a small business account. Simple right? No so. Went to my local branch in Wheatridge, was told by a employee who job it was to greet and open the door, that it would be about 30 minutes or more of a wait. two empty desks, one person working, on opening the door. Hmmmm. So I left thinking I would come back at a better time. Came back a week later early afternoon on a Tuesday, walked in sat down, and about 10 minutes later a person came over and asked what I needed, I told them, they said it would be about an hour since one of the people who could help needed a lunch break. Okay. I left. I came back today, Thursday, 4pm. Went in, sat down, waited 10 minutes, lady came up and asked me what I needed, I told her...She said that new business accounts could only be opened by appointment. Holy crap! I said it was my 3rd time there, no one until her had said that. She smiled and said sorry...nothing more. Okay, I am not a stickler for perfect customer service, but sorry?? I left and am trying to figure out where else to go open a business account. Just a last note, during my 3rd time there, I saw two other potential customers be told that it would be 30 to 45 minutes to open a basic checking account, and they both left as well. Up to you now I guess.... read more

I've been a member for years and keep swallowing my unhappiness to avoid supporting the big, evil banks, but I think it's about time for me to switch. If Aspiration, the other bank I use, offered checking, I'd be all the way over there already. They charge fees for NOT using their bill pay service, member support is snarky and rude about it, the app is continually updated to *remove* useful features, mobile deposit barely works, and most of the fee-free ATMs are in a 7-11 that is somehow always located 7 miles away from you. read more

Do not I repeat do not use Bellco credit Union. Their online banking reliability sucks. They're call waiting times are always atrocious. If you create an online account and try to use mobile banking your account will be locked out off and on. Requiring constant password resets which are one hoop to jump thru after another. read more

I have had some great, helpful, and friendly tellers here so that is why they get more than a single star. I have a savings account and wanted to add a checking account to it. I went in and was told to wait for the next available processor. There was one couple in front of me wanting to make a deposit in their HSA. When someone finally came over that couple was told to just use a machine in the building that would process the deposit. One of the other employees yelled from across the bank that, "no they can't do that they have to fill out paper work and will have to wait." The two had a snide conversation with one another about if they could or not, and both were rude and unprofessional sounding to each other. He then finished with them and turned to me asking if I was the one that wanted to open a new account. I informed him that I already had an account and wanted to add checking. He then told me that they only have two people working and they were closing soon (30 mins to closing) and that they couldn't help me but I can go ahead and do it online. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP! I actually decided on Belloc to start doing my regular banking at but if this is what they promote and the customer service they provide maybe I will just stay with my current credit union or try out Wells Fargo. read more

Awful. Just awful. We had been banking with Bellco for years. Joined when you had to meet criteria for joining. Years later after greed took over and customer service went south all we want to do is get away. I can't even pay off our loans without issues. Problem after problem and crappy correspondence both online and over the phone. I paid off my car loan in person 3 weeks ago and cannot retrieve my title. I was told "5 to 7 days" to my face. Upon calling 2 weeks later it was "10 days minimum sir". Again par for the course and still no title. STAY AWAY!!! read more

If it we're possible to give them zero stars I would. My mother and I have been given the run around on insurance claim money that was designated to fix the car. Upon following the business bankers explicit policy concerning the release of funds I spent $1000 on getting my car fixed. The next day the bank withdrew their instructions and the funds (that I deposited via insurance) and told me it was "too bad" even after I had the work done and I had spent numerous trips to multiple branch locations. Their policy changed on the spot and I will never believe a word they say. We will be moving our car loan as soon as possible away from this bank that lacks common sense, any sense of customer loyalty and most important - integrity. I just simply can't believe being lied to straight to my face. read more

Writing this review on branch manager Brenda M. Thank you so much for all of your help! You were truly such a pleasure to work with every time we came into the branch. You were so helpful, so kind and went above and beyond to get us the help we needed. While we came into the bank and you weren't there we left dissatisfied with the other managers/tellers. Thanks again Brenda! Only because of your help and excellent customer service will we be banking here. read more

When signing up for an account, the tellers? or whatever their title is should not act judgmental toward the client. Nor should they treat people in their 40's as if this is their first bank account. I really did not enjoy the process and have already withdrawn my money due to the continued conceited attitudes of every employee I encounter. This is not a people friendly bank. read more

My first deposit check into Bellco Credit union for $8,000 they lost. The guy who wrote me the check gave me a photocopy of the front and back showing it cleared March 24, 2008. Here I am in April and they can't tell me if it cleared yet. So where is the money? It left his bank 8 days ago. They don't know. So I have someone else wire funds into my account for the same amount. Totally collected funds. Good as CASH. They cut me a cashiers check, but refuse to cash it! So I have filed a complaint with the Colorado Division of Financial Services who monitors their state charter. I call Bellco every day, same excuses. They tell me they may have to hold my deposit check for 30 days. Federal Reserve said Regulation CC states 11 days max. Don't bank here. Next it could be you. read more

I have not had any problems with Bellco or this location. I went in recently to deposit money to pay my auto loan. My 3 year old liked playing in their little waiting area, which has some toys and a dollhouse. I had to wait in line for a bit (it was a Friday at 4:30, to be expected). They ran the line through at a good pace. In all, not a bad location for basic banking needs. read more

Due to a mistake in explaining how the system worked, the bank charged me several hundred dollars. I understand mistakes happen, when I went in to get it fixed I was politely told off, and to come back when a manager was there next week. When I spoke with him he proceeded to refund me a small amount and told me it was all he was willing to do because he deemed it "fair". However it wasn't all he could do. This was specifically explained. They basically told me to tuck off, albeit very politely with a smile. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I cannot recommend banking here. read more

The folks at this branch are excellent. I have been with Bellco for decades. I love getting the higher interest on the Boost checking account. I cancelled my money market and moved it to checking. The rates for credit cards are very good as well as for car loans. read more

Zero help. The wizard behind the curtain wouldn't come out to answer my questions and kept referring me to a phone number. Terrible customer service! read more

I have been a member of Bellco for over 3 decades, most of the time services move along well, teller, atms, ect. BUT, the online banking is a pain. Periodically, I am forced to change a password on my business account, (this doesn't happen with my personal account). I have developed a rotating series of passwords such that I can accommodate their demands. I don't sign in and check my online balances every day, or every week. The problem arises if I happen to attempt to sign in and use the wrong password, three strikes you are locked out, three wrong passwords ever, not over a few days, weeks, months, years. A further problem is accessing the overworked IT phone contacts to assist, my last wait time, over 15 mins. Very frustrating. (I don't feel protected, I feel kinda pissed.) read more

I'm a big fan of your ATMs. Out of the 50+ times I have used either their walk up or drive up machines in the last year, I have only had 1 ATM not be able to give me my cash. I have never been inside so I can't tell you anything about the inside or employees. read more
