There were at least six people in line when we got here for dinner on Saturday night. This was our first time and we didn't know what to expect. Well, the reviews are correct - the food is good. I've tried this place a few times now in the Piedmont Pods. Good portions and reasonably priced, the small size has always been enough to fill me up plenty ($12). I've tried the Armenian slow cooked beef, Chicken Curry, and beef saaj. They were all very good but I listed them my favorite to least favorite. Beef saaj was still great but the spices on the Armenian beef and chicken curry were exquisite. I didn't even mind their salad which had a tasty pink yogurty dressing, but the last time I went they switched it to a more normal like ranch type :( and my only other complaint is that all the times I've been they are sold out of those delicious looking stuffed bell peppers, maybe they just don't do them anymore. read more

The couple running the cart are so friendly and really take pride in serving consistently high quality food! My favorite combo, in any cuisine, is chicken, rice and salad. So at Bella's Cravings I always go with the Kabob Dinner choosing two skewers of chicken or one chicken and one shish kabob (beef.) The meats are marinated and perfectly cooked providing a depth of flavor while retaining moisture. The kabobs are served over rice along side of a huge salad of fresh greens dressed in a delicious vinegrette, the lemon adding a brightness that pairs well with the meat. I keep forgetting to bring my own container so I can eat half there and bring half home as I can never finish it all. Definitely enough for two dinners or to share. The cart itself is adorable, decorated with succulents, little white lights and faux flowers. If facing the Piedmont Pods, Bella's is on the right side next to the coffee cart. Excellent quality Mediterranean dishes served in an "upscale" food truck park. My Shish Kabob was nicely spiced (albeit slightly over salted) and our other dishes were quite flavorful. Food trucks are all the rage in Portland and the food truck parks are upscaling themselves to create a more park-like picnic ambiance to distinguish themselves. Bella's Cravings is in one of the better parks with nice wooden pavilions for covered eating spaces. The truck itself is also quite artistically decorated. I'm amused by the numerous 5-star gushing the food trucks are showered with, as if they were Michelin rated restaurants. Bella's Cravings is one of the better food trucks, yet I debated between 3 and 4 stars. I heard several customers being told that their orders wouldn't be complete because the kitchen had run out of certain items. My order took close to 40 minutes to complete when I was told 15 (makes it a pain to order from multiple food trucks for a group). The food is quite good, but you're still walking up to a counter to order and eating at an outdoor picnic table (and bussing your own table - not sure why they have a tip space on the receipt). read more

Amazing, Amazing food! Visited on a Tuesday afternoon with my partner towards closing time and the food was still spot on and delicious. Very unique flavors and Mediterranean dishes. I've been craving chicken kabobs and saw them on the menu here so I gave it a try. Pretty darn good. The chicken itself was marinated nicely. Wish it came with more chicken though. Quite a bit of salad comes with it. Lots of rice too, but I'm not sure I like the red dusting on it but that's just my taste. Wish I had more of that chicken. It had good flavoring. Not too crazy. Some Mediterranean places like to lay the seasoning on thick. Not here. Perfect. Only thing I didn't care for was the hummus. Average menu price is around $13-$14 for a full meal, but if you aren't feeling as hungry you can opt for the "bowls" which are the smaller portion sizes of the full sized meals and are around $8-$9 range. Tried nearly everything on the menu at one point or another and I've been pleasantly surprised at how good each dish is! Fresh ingredients (and seasonal vegetables when available) make this place well worth the price. Portions are huge as well! This time, I opted for the chicken kebab plate, and it came with basmati rice, two large skewers of chicken that was perfectly cooked and seasoned, two grilled tomatoes, and a fresh green salad with peppers and balsamic glaze. The food here is really good (TLDR: If you get to this cart and it's open, eat here. Hands down some of the best and healthiest meals I've had in PDX). It's the service / consistency that lacks. You never know what their hours are. When I lived nearby, half of the times that I'd walk to their cart they would be closed (though it was well within website hours). My biggest gripe is that you can't get delivery! I'm disabled and it's difficult to get to them now that I'm not living in the neighborhood. I would gladly pay extra to be able to order delivery - the few times I've seen them available on an app my order was cancelled by the merchant. Also I miss the original coconut chicken curry! The food is super fresh and the flavors are bright- clean and imaginative (but not over the top). The guy who took my order was very friendly and happy to accommodate my request for packaging the salad separately from the food (I had a long drive ahead of me). the ingredients they are using are quality ingredients- they even accented my kebab plate with a grilled tomato- who knew these were so delicious?! I LOVE the food here! It's been a favorite of mine. However, the last few times I've gone, I noticed the worker wasn't wearing a mask, or was using an ill-fitting handkerchief as a mask, which kept falling off his face (as he was singing). I want to keep going to this place, but I hope they'll provide their employees with better masks, and really enforce COVID safety protocols with more consistency. This food made me feel things I haven't felt for a while. I am so sad I haven't tried it earlier because now it's hands down my favorite food cart in Portland. I tried chicken curry and vegetable sabzi and both were absolutely delicious. The food is spicy, flavorful, rich, just wonderful. I've also appreciated the thoughtfulness of the person at the cart. I came with my 8-months old son and got one of the meals thinking to share it with my son. A nice friendly cook said that one of the ingredients they use in their dishes can be an allergen for the babies and that if I want, he can give me a little container of the chicken curry without that ingredient.
