I am back to write again about the horrible state of the women's locker room. The entire women's…read morelocker room should be condemned. Almost every single shower is lined with mold. The vents are lined with mold. Most of the lockers rarely work. The carpet may be from when they opened. It's super matted, stained and disgusting. To top it off the sign for westside is dirty. They do an amazing job taking care of all the animals. Matter a fact the animals enclosure are cleaned daily but and they even got new penguins. But they have yet to even redo the women's locker room. To add the indoor hot tub, cold plunge area was redone but is rarely cleaned. There is still grime around the poles and it's generally sopping wet in there with hairs and dirt everywhere. It's unhygienic and unsanitary. Westside please do better. The gym has everything you need. However as far as maintenance of areas and cleanliness it's a 1-Star. Who what's yoninhsle mood while showering. And the cold plunge and hot tub area/pools still reeks of mold. So they may have redone the area but whatever they did did not remove the mold smell that sticks to your body when utilizing the indoor hot tub and indoor cold plunge. Maybe it needs new piping and better extreme ventilation.

There was also a bowling alley and it looked like a water slide but it was closed that day. Tennis courts everywhere and pickleball courts too. I didn't see the gym. The food they offered wasn't the greatest for how much they charge but I didn't pay for anything so maybe it was just the food that they provided that was mediocre. We did ask the staff to cook the pizza some more as it was kind of undercooked and doughy and the staff was extremely nice and didn't have a problem helping us out. I spoke to one of the members while I was relaxing in the patio area and he was telling me about all of the events for members that are free with the membership. Really cool place.

He agreed to give my son an hour lesson. My son went and enjoyed himself. ----- All they care about is what they can extract from you in the moment. It's quite odd that they would rather take $50 today instead of nurturing a long term relationship. Previously we had some good experiences and used them during off season, even did a camp with them. My son couldn't find his equipment before the lesson, so I tried to call to see if we'd need it or not. However, we had the first slot of the day. So I called as soon as they opened, but they didn't pick up and it went to voicemail. We got someone to borrow the equipment and raced over. By the time we got there, they had given my son's appointment slot to another kid... And TOOK our $50 for the lesson. They refused to let us make it up. Even though we made the appointment last night and all thier slots were open and they weren't available for us to see what Thier policy is, etc. I just found the coach who was now busy with another kid during our time slot and the manager incredibly poor at customer service. It left a really bad taste in my mouth. To top it off, it was a birthday present from his aunt!! They didn't care. They stuck to thier policy and we're uncaring, showing no empathy. So we will never go back again. In the end they took our$50, but lost out on hundreds more over the next 3 years.

This place is literally a facility to go into if you or your child are serious or want to get a good feel for the intensity of playing baseball. Having been an all-around athlete myself, Coach Clarence reminds me of my school coaches who would say, "Listen, Focus and Perform." No fluff, no time to play - Seriously, "Batter Up!" You get your money's worth with Coach Clarence with hitting clubs and individual practice slots. Coach Austin is great for running mechanics. Glad Brock's baseball team coach Jason Espeseth set up a batting practice period at this facility months ago. We've gone back on our own and will continue to go see Coach Clarence regularly. Some days are more crowded than others but my son just muscles his way in. Sit back and let them learn from the best.

After several months not swinging the bat, my sons swing was pretty bad, and Clarence took time to not only make sure we were squared away in the cage, but also to help my son and I to improve his stance, his mechanics and even mentally. Legit…read more It's a pretty elite Gym which only serves people that work in the area, and it's kinda fancy but also kind of expensive which I suppose makes sense, because if the earnings of the people that work around here are anything to go by, then this is expected to cost a lot. But it does seem a bit elitist, and also I think the fact that it opens at 5:30 can be a bit of a problem, because if you work here at Memorial City and you start at 8, that might be okay as long as you only want a quick workout, but if you work somewhere else in Houston and you start even as late as 9 then good luck getting done with a 2-hour workout and getting to work in time.

Not sitting on a patio sipping mimosas with my girlfriends (sigh)! Gymboree Play and Music is a great second choice though, and my daughter's first choice for air conditioned climbing fun. She looks forward to each Saturday class with Ms. Taylor for fun, age appropriate games and activities, friends, catchy songs (my husband and I have been singing the 'sitting in my high chair' song all day) bubbles, and of course the indoor playground equipment. She has a blast each time we go, and we love the atmosphere and loosely-structured play environment. While it's encouraged for your kids to follow along with the group activities, if your little one just wants to roll a ball one day, or go up and down the slide, no worries! You be you, little one. Be sure to bring socks for all adults, because if you forget you have to buy a pair for $10 at the front. Kiddos go barefoot to prevent slippage, but do wear play clothes suitable for active play (leave the baby suits and dresses at home and opt for a comfy onesie!). The way Gymboree operates is with a monthly membership that gives you one or more class a week, plus unlimited visits during open gym hours. They have different types of classes available, so depending on what you and your kiddo want for structured play you can choose the appropriate class. We opted for the Play and Learn 3 class after attending the Play and Learn family class we did for our free preview. The family class is for all ages 0-5, and is geared towards families with multiple children attending. It was fun, but we decided the age-appropriate class made the most sense for us. As an FYI- more Hina one adult can attend with your child at once. We attend on Saturday and most of the kids have both parents in attendance, and it's a fun way to meet other parents in the area. Now if only we could incorporate mimosa into Gymboree play, that would be the best of both worlds.
