I've honestly never had a more uncomfortable shopping experience. I went into the store last minute to buy an outfit to go to the Kentucky Derby. Within seconds of being in the store, I looked at a dress and out loud said " This is super cute". Instead of Being greeted, all I hear is A woman say " We don't have your size". I tried not to read too much into it and proceeded to shop. The girls in the store proceeded to throw any dress my way that they deemed "my size"- never once asking me what size I wore. They were pushing me so much to buy dress that I just did not feel comfortable in and didn't have the wow factor that I was looking for. When I told them this, A woman said " Can you just not afford it?" I couldn't believe she actually said that to me. My mother visited Bella Rose to shop for her "mother of the bride" dress for my wedding. The lady who assisted her looked her up and down, smirked, and said she wouldn't fit in the dress she wanted. My mom insisted that she wanted to try it, explaining that she loved it and was willing to have it altered. The lady grudgingly got the dress for her to try on. Once she had it on, she was told that the dress "was the same color as her and totally washed her out". My mom left in tears. The staff here is totally unprofessional and straight up mean. We were able to find the exact dress on Helsi for about $250 less than the price listed at Bella Rose. read more

The staff here makes you feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. The scene where she walks into a "high end" boutique and is immediately judged, sent away and told she can't afford anything in the store. We walked in, they weren't even wearing their masks properly. An older blonde woman asked my friend and I condescendingly if we had been up to "anything fun" lately. I think she might have forgotten we were in a pandemic and nothing fun is actually going on. They have beautiful clothing, all the dresses downstairs are covered in plastic. Kind of reminds me of my grandma and her well preserved clothing. read more

Expectations are always fulfilled. Consistent attentiveness to your needs and wishes. Nothing is ever mundane or dated. They seem to always be a year or two ahead of the rest of the competition. First time in the place was a good experience. Two younger girls helped me find a dress for a wedding, which was very helpful! But I don't wear dresses, they gave me plenty of dresses to choose from; very helpful. But I really wasn't thinking what I was doing and I tried on a dress that I liked, so I bought It. I also bought a pair earrings, and they told me a spank that didn't work with my dress. I later got home and realized that I couldn't sit or walk in my dress. So I called and asked if I could return, which I followed protocol which is ridiculous when you almost pay $1000. I tried to return my dress and the owner was so rude and nasty to me. Bella Rose is the nicest women's clothing boutique in Lexington Kentucky. The owner has beautiful taste, and she and her staff are wonderful to work with. I highly recommend Bella Rose to be anyone looking for the perfect dress, hat, or accessories. There is a reason why her shop has been so successful for so many years. read more

Beautiful clothes and a lot of inventory to choose from. This is one of the few stores that I look forward to visiting when I'm in Lexington. They carry Southern standards like Milly and Shoshanna, but this past visit I was surprised to find a number of pieces from designers like Black Halo as well. I went shopping for bridesmaids' dresses here with several of my friends. We have NEVER been treated so badly by employees at any store. The staff were extremely rude and judgmental and not remotely helpful. We believe this occurred because we appear younger than their typical clientele (which the clothing selection leads me to believe are middle-aged to elderly women). The woman working the sales floor was so inconsiderate as to barge in on me in the dressing room as I was changing without giving any notice or even asking if she could come in. (She was well aware that I was in the room, as she had seen me go in only a minute beforehand.) We felt that she went out of her way to follow us around the store without offering to help. (We would have gratefully accepted her assistance! The store is quite disorganized.) I am a Lexington native and believe strongly in supporting local businesses, which is why we visited Bella Rose instead of heading straight to, say, David's Bridal. We were treated with such condescension that I will never set foot in the store again. It's a shame--they did have a broad selection of dresses (although the prices are considerably higher than the quality or taste level in many cases). My advice for other brides: don't waste your time here. The bridal stores elsewhere in Lexington are staffed by courteous, helpful individuals who will treat you with respect. Bella Rose will only disappoint you and leave you angry. read more

This store has beautiful clothes for that perfect occasion. I found a purple Nicole Miller dress that was perfect for both Vegas and Keeneland. The caveat? The staff is so snobby! I'm not sure why because this is Lexington, not Aspen or Rodeo Drive. I would expect this type of attitude in Scottsdale or Dallas but this was just hilarious. I was treated better at Vera Wang on Santa Monica boulevard wearing jean shorts and a t-shirt! This boutique needs to straighten out its act because I have heard the same scenario from other young women that I have talked to. read more

Just left this store. I walked in, went downstairs, spent 20 minutes trying on dresses and left- no one spoke to me- asked if I needed help- welcomed me or said goodbye. I am looking for a dress for a special occasion and ready to spend money for something really fabulous. The clothing is beautiful but the customer service is TERRIBLE. read more

I love Bella Rose! Yes, they are fairly pricey, but I've always had a great experience shopping here. The owner is super sweet and the clothes are good quality. I bought the most amazing prom dress from Bella Rose when I was in high school and I come back anytime I need a great dress for a big event! Just be prepared for the prices and understand that you're paying for a one-of-a-kind dress (or other clothing item) that you won't find anywhere else. read more

This was the second bad experience I've had at Bella Rose. I needed to buy two dresses today. There were three employees there. One asked what I was shopping for, held up a random black dress and said, "I wish you would take this one off my hands" and walked away. That was the last thing spoken to me (by anyone) as I browsed. (There was only one other customer in the store, and she was in the dressing room.) The employees were clearly too busy gossiping and talking about mutual acquaintances and clientele to even ask what style/color/length I was looking for. The icing on the cake was when the other customer emerged from the dressing room, unable to zip the dress she was trying on and saying that the dress was too tight. All three employees exclaimed simultaneously, "It's not too tight! It fits perfectly!" I'll be spending the money I had budgeted for the dresses elsewhere. (Incidentally, I'm not sure what this store has to be so snobby about. The window displays always look beautiful and enticing; but the merchandise inside is absolutely nothing special. That's why it would've been helpful to me to have some assistance combing through everything to find a style that matched what I was looking for.) read more

I visited Bella Rose last week after hearing so much about this store, and was so excited to see their selection. I walked around this small store for more than 25 minutes and the sales people literally ignored me. They walked right past me several times and didn't even say hello or ask if I needed help. I was shocked, and I decided to stay a little extra time to see if I might be wrong. At some point, I realized that this was deliberate. If you want to be treated with respect by a store that values you as a customer, this is not the place. I will never go back to this store again. read more
