I have also taken my children to Teacher Stephanie's Music Together class for five years. My first child went from 9 months to 4.5 years old , and the next two started in the womb. We enrolled continuously, without missing a single semester. Needless to say, I am a fan. Teacher Stephanie is the kind of person anyone would want their children to know. She has impeccable manners. She is kind. She is endlessly upbeat. And my children love to say "amAHzing" in her fun, Australian accent. Moreover, Teacher Stephanie has worked with children over twenty years, and her experience shows in how expertly she handles what could otherwise turn into sticky situations. Her classes run smoothly as silk, and this feat leaves most of us parents in awe. Finally, Teacher Stephanie has a long list of music credentials and is a performing violinist and recording artist. She imparts a wealth of musical knowledge to the children: harmony, rhythm, dynamics and musical genres. The children learn by dancing, imitating sounds, and beating out drum beats. Teacher Stephanie plays violin to each child at the beginning of class, and this is a moment no one wants to miss, so people come early. Classes always start on time. My two older children went on to study violin with Teacher Stephanie in private lessons, and I attribute their success in violin to their early preparation in Music Together. She willingly shares all that she knows and has lent me inspiring books and materials on early childhood musical education. Teacher Stephanie is deeply knowledgeable about music, children and violin playing, performance, and pedagogy. I could not recommend her musical program more highly. read more

I started taking my daughter to Teacher Stephanie's Music Together class when she was 6 months old and continued until she was almost 5 years old. This class enriched our lives in so many ways! Teacher Stephanie is a gifted violinist and wonderful teacher who uses her knowledge of music and young brain development to develop a quality and engaging class for all children. Stephanie begins each class by playing her violin and walking around the circle to connect to each child, one at a time, allowing children to touch and feel the violin while she bows it. My daughter would light up at this interaction! It was a joy to see my daughter delight in the songs, learn to clap her hands, play instruments, roll balls, wave beautiful scarves, comfortably crawl or toddle or dance or sing or just listen, all in tune to the sweet songs. I cannot commend Stephanie enough for her patience and positivity in guiding children of various ages and temperaments! She cultivated an accommodating space for my daughter to learn about social interactions, from sharing and making transitions to group participation and making new friends. As a mom, I loved this class not just as an enjoyable activity to share with my daughter, but also as a resource that connected me to other parents in the community. Usually Music Together is taught by young girls (in their early to mid-twenties) or moms that have an apt for music, or some extensive music training, and most enjoy children. Stephanie is a top rate violinist and musician that could have a career as a professional violinist without teaching her trade to children and introducing babies to the joy of music. Plus, she is obviously educated on the behavior of, and loves, babies and children. I went from a Music Together class in Washington DC 4 years ago to my first Music Together class with Stephanie 3 years ago. Wow, what a difference; a fun sweet little mommy and me music class in DC to a fun, but incredibly professional, family class here in Carmel with teacher Stephanie. She starts class playing her violin, and takes time with each baby and young child playing in front of them. Nearly bringing new moms to tears watching for the first time their baby touch a violin and look so intently at it while it is being played very close to them. I have taken several classes a year with both my young boys in the past three years. I highly recommend Stephanie as a private tutor and a Music Together teacher! read more

Our daughter has been taking violin lessons from Stephanie since the age of 5 and has been with her for over 6 years now. We could not recommend any teacher or program more. Stephanie's program and approach are wonderful. Her passion and individual attention brings out the best in her students. Violin is a simple but demanding instrument. It is a perfect instrument for young children to learn because of its scale-able size and fun songs that they can learn. Stephanie is extremely compassionate and patient and makes the challenging parts fun and rewarding. Our daughter just absolutely adores her. Our family has also participated in the Music Together Classes over the years when our children were younger. This program brings such joy to our community and teaches children the love of music. I couldn't recommend this class more. We have been doing it since my youngest was 5 months. Now, three years (and two more kids) later we are still LOVING her class!!! Stephanie is fantastic. We actually took a break when my third was due and noticed something VERY significant. After dinner was always musical time and the girls asked to do it almost every day. When we took our break we noticed the girls didn't ask to play music even once. When we started the classes back up again the girls once again asked to play all the time! I knew it was having an impact, but WOW!! My second is about to turn two and she has a wonderful sense of rhythm due to this class. She claps along and when the cds come on at home she jumps up and starts dancing with the music! The only reason I wouldn't want to write this review is because the secret might get out! ;) You wont regret taking this class for years and years! :) read more

My 2 boys did one of these classes last year and loved it!!! Teacher Stephanie is extremely passionate about music and it rubs off on the children. The boys were very enthusiastic about going to their weekly class, and always got up to dance and sing. They were 2yrs and 4yrs at the time, and both of them really benefited from it. They still sing the songs they learnt in class last year. Also the music CD you receive in class that contains all the songs - well, that still gets played in our car today and the boys sing along to it. The classes have a lovely relaxed feel to them as well, so it's enjoyable for the parents and the kids. There is also a gorgeous playroom upstairs from the class where the kids are permitted to play before and after class...this room was a massive hit with my boys too! I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to introduce music to their children. read more

Our family went to Stephanie's music together class for 5 years. My daughter now 7 1/2 and son 5 1/2 still talk about teacher Stephanie's music class. The Music together program is by far the best program for young children. Stephanie is energetic, caring and engaging throughout her class. The flow is seamless and engages both the parent and the child. I truly enjoyed going to the class with my children and actually became a better singer myself as a result. This is a great benefit for my children because we have all been singing the music together songs for years and they both still love to listen to the CDs. They also both sing beautifully in tune and I believe have a strong musical foundation for the rest of their lives because of Stephanie's fun and engaging music together class. Teacher Stephanie is a fantastic teacher! She has such an amazing way of engaging the kids in song and instrument playing, and at the same time, making it fun for us parents to watch our little ones get involved in music. My kids have so much fun during class. They sing the songs at home and have become so much more interested in playing our little instruments we have at home. Having grown up playing music, it makes me so happy that my kids have shown excitement for music after watching Stephanie play her violin throughout class. This music program for children, in the very capable hands of teacher Stephanie Brown, is the highlight of my young granddaughter's week. I have taken her to other Music Together classes, but this is by far the best we've experienced. Stephanie has an amazing knack for connecting to the children, with her "up close" violin playing and encouraging tone. It's a friendly atmosphere to which Stephanie brings an intense positive energy. I have been bringing my daughter to Teacher Stephanie's Music Together classes since she was a little over a year old. Now at two-and-a-half, my daughter wants to play any instrument she can get her hands on, and she's always singing and dancing! She loves coming to music class and especially loves the one-on-one time when Stephanie plays violin for each child.
