I got a terrible haircut with no shape or style. It looks like I went to the chain haircut salons that do cuts for $40. It was not worth the $110 I paid at this salon. I am more than happy to pay for good service. I have paid much more at many high end salons. The results with other stylists have been wonderful. This was just terrible. I have been a client of Tala's at Bella Moda Salon in Potomac since the pandemic -- And I am so happy that I found her. All my life it has been a struggle to find someone who can color and cut my hair -- I have dark, thick hair -- and she is a master at both color and cut/styling! She has very good taste (she will tell you the truth!) and she takes her time to deliver a wonderful style at each appointment. Tala cares for my hair and does a wonderful job. My hair was medium brown and starting to turn grey but I am now a proud blonde. Tala doesn't mind that I have a ton of hair, she takes her time to make sure it is perfect. No brassiness or chunks of blond. Got the best service here. Came here for hair cut,coloring and eye brows. Both the Turkish hairdressers "Dogan" and "Matt" are their at top of this profession. Been to other hair salons owned by Turkish hairdressers (because they all are so talented) in DMV area. But I was not happy with my other trials with other salons. Finally I wanted to try them and now I am their regular. Never got disappointed. And "Sehri" is the best for eyebrows. They also do waxing. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for the best hair service. Both men and women are welcome there. So this is a plus too. read more

Wow...did I go to a hair school or high end salon? Yellow highlights and layers around my face when I asked for a long bob? Matt couldn't have gotten it worse. Adding insult to injury, I was quoted $200 (which would still be a rip off with my results) but ended up being charged $330 + tip! I'm all about paying for quality results, but that was simply not my case. I responded to the salons feedback request and was not contacted after sharing my experience. Unless you're over 80 and colorblind, don't waste your time and certainly not your hair. read more

I wanna thank the guy who got me a ear infection.. I came here for the first time being impressed from how fancy but extremely expensive for just a haircut. Not just that, after warning the guy that I had a cartilage piercing 3 times. He managed to hurt me twice at the start then the very last time before we were finished he got the brush stuck between my piercing while pulling down hard, my ear hurts a lot and it got all red and swollen until 2 days later where puss and it started to bleed. I am baffled by the negative reviews of this salon. I have been a client of Dogan, the owner, and Sheri, his wife who does nails, waxing and threading, for five years, and they are both polished, professional, creative, and approachable. If there is a mistake, they correct it without charge. I have also worked with Matt, who is so good we entrusted him to do my daughter's hair for her wedding. She was a stunning bride. Her hair was gorgeous. Potomac does not offer cheap prices, unless you want to use a Hair Cuttery place, and of course that is a choice. But if you are looking for a full-service salon and spa, Bella Moda is convenient, moderately priced for the area, and most importantly, a salon that has you leave looking lovely and self-confident. I cannot recommend it enough. read more

I love this place!! I just had my hair colored by Homa--and she did a fantastic! job I have dark hair and have never been happy having my hair colored. When Homa did it--it came our beautifully and I have gotten tons of compliments! I will keep using Homa! I get my nails done here too by Penny. I am very picky about my manicures and Penny does them perfectly. Its a lovely salon. Everyone is nice and very welcoming. Great place. I highly recommend it. read more

I believe that Dogan is a very professional kind business man, but his choice of hair stylists needs to be more examined. The hair dresser arrived twenty-five minutes late to my appointment. She gave me a perm that 'fried' my hair. It was brittle and so straight and frizzy, I feared that it would fall out. The hair stylist, and you know who you are, blamed me. She said that it was like this because I slept on it! That I did not know how to care for it and that it was because I have gray hair. During the portion of curling my hair, she asked me if mixing the two perm bottles is what the directions said. I should have gotten up and left at that point. She ran out of grey curlers and added several pink ones in. Later on, she charged me an extra $25.00 for the pink curlers????? I was not told about an extra price for more curlers. Their prices are too expensive to begin with and I was very upset with this. When I complained that she came twenty-five minutes late, she said, "I give you 10% discount." Please Mr. and Mrs. owner of this salon, educate your hair stylist in the chemistry of doing a perm. It is a serious matter. I do not understand how you allow your hairstylists to negotiate prices. I went to Bella Moda on Saturday, December 26th, 2015, to treat myself for New Years. I went to Tala and told her that I wanted balayage hairstyle and what I got was far from it. First of all she unnecessary bleached my entire head. She definitely didn't know what she was doing, because my hair came out orange. Before I knew it she wanted to blow dry finish my hair, so, I said: "what are you doing?" Because she left my hair as is, without any color. So, I got a little upset and to try to fix her mistake, she attempted to use toner to get rid off the brassiness, and it came out yellow/green. At that point beyond upset and told her to stop touching my hair. And still had to pay full price $135. So upset I went home, woke up the next day and couldn't stand looking at myself with this mess, so I dyed it brown myself at home. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go get their hair done by her. She clearly wasn't listening to anything I was saying. read more

I just received the WORST haircut I have ever gotten in my life. I asked for a simple trim, all one length. The hairstylist cut "layers" in my hair that are completely uneven and so short that they barely pass my ears. There is not a single piece of hair that is the same length. My head is full of uneven chunks that look like a blindfolded six-year old cut. I will never return to this salon and highly recommend going elsewhere. read more

I went here 8/24/16, to begin with the reason I came to this store because my sister want ombré hair color and since she work in the village she knows almost everybody in this area and she told me that the receptionist of Bella moda keep asking her to come over to do her hair, we knew that it's expensive since its in Potomac village but the lady insisted that we will give you employee discount and plus there advertising 30% OFF for first time costumer, who wouldn't want that? so I call the salon, talk to flavia for an appointment and confirm that they do have 30% OFF for first time costumer so I go ahead booked for ombré hair coloring and since I'm gonna wait for my sister might as well try the brow threading. We had appointment 1pm for my sis and 2:45pm for myself, we arrive 10min. earlier but they accommodate us and seated which is nice and also they again confirm that we are first timer, after wards while there doing my sis hair at exactly 2:45pm I went to the front desk to remind them about my brow threading and this two lady told me "oh ok you can go back" so I went back to my chair sitting and patiently waiting but no one is coming, I reminded the person who's coloring my sister hair that I supposed to have somebody help me out with my appointment and it's been 3:30pm, Matt went to the front desk and when he came back the receptionist is with him and she told me, I told you to come back, I replied what am I supposed to do? I went back to my chair is that what you mean and she walk away go to the back of salon and check something when she come back she told me that the person supposed to be with me fixing my eyebrow is with the costumer and ask me to wait, what I'm supposed to do but wait since she didn't give me any other option, so I did because there still working on my sister. Finally they took me for my eyebrow threading around 4:15pm and then I went to the front desk right away to pay for my sister and my bill total 167$ and she ask me again first time costumer right? I said right and the we head out since I'm pissed for what happen. when i double check my receipt seems like it's odd so I call the store to ask if they give me the discount they told me I guess so, so I ask can you double check It to the system and find it out they don't. I ask to talk to the manager they told me she's not in for the weekend and will call me Monday first thing in the morning but never heard any. More or less this is truly False Advertisement and Poor Service I highly not recommend this salon!!. read more
