It was a perfect day for sailing (nice breeze, sunny but not hot, clear skies, and not choppy water). This is definitely an activity that I will come back for. Eric is incredibly knowledgeable about NYC's history and shares it all. His boat is gorgeously kept and is incredibly comfortable and modern with a traditional feel. More importantly you can tell he enjoys what he does, which makes it amazing for those sailing with him. It's also a very relaxing experience. We went out on the 4 hr tour and it went by so incredibly fast! If you have the time I definitely recommend doing the 4 hr as it's the perfect amount of time to enjoy the experience. However, if you don't have the time I very much encourage taking the shorter tour so you can experience a great time. A must-do in NYC!

Our host organized a Manhattan architecture cruise tour for us on a gorgeous summer day. We all boarded the boat and peered out the large windows surrounding almost every section of the vessel. Our tour guide explained that while we would need to be seated for the beginning, we were welcome to head out the doors to the front once we were on our way, as the speakers would allow us to hear her narration from the outside. She was extremely knowledgeable and directed our attention with information and history as we moved through the waterways. A beverage is included on the tour, and they have a broad selection from still and sparking water to wines and beers. You can also bring your drinks outside. Most people didn't choose to come outside until later in the tour, so it was a great ride soaking up the sunshine with a breeze from the water. One of the highlights was definitely begin up close with the Statue of Liberty. There was plenty of time there for photos as we turned around before heading back. Getting to sail through the swing bridges was also pretty need. I definitely have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the architecture of the city, and we all had a really enjoyable afternoon!

You might be able to find a private sail for less money but trust me and just book with Sail NYC. I did based on the reviews and it was well worth it. The only thing and it has nothing to do with Sail NYC, was that we sailed on July 4th to make the Grucci fireworks part of the experience. The traffic getting into the marina was horrendous mostly due to the incompetence of the NJ park police. So if you plan on sailing on any high volume holiday like Independence Day then leave PLENTY of extra time.
