I just got home from having my brows shaped by Jill! So I've never had my brows done before, they're not unruly, hairy, or anything--I just felt like they were very "blah" and had no shape so I wanted to try having them shaped. I've read and heard about horror stories about girls getting their entire brows waxed off, irritating wax, "sperm-shaped" brows so I wanted to go to a professional to avoid any mishaps. I was nervous because I didn't want anything too dramatic. Jill was great! As soon as I walked in she was really welcoming and sweet. I felt comfortable instantly. She made sure to talk to me about what she was going to do and that she wasn't going to freak me out by doing them too thin. I don't have that much hair to work with up there anyway so she told me that nothing too dramatic could be done anyway which I was totally ok with! She only tweezed, no wax which was nice because I have sensitive skin. She tweezed really fast so it was over SO quick! I was amazed! It was nice too because we talked the whole time she tweezed so it was over before I knew it! All in all I had a great experience there! She was so nice, did a wonderful job, and the boutique was very cute! I look much more awake now haha thanks Jill! =] It's expensive if you are used to going to sketchy places but for her expertise and the results I got it was definitely worth $35 plus tip. Before I found Jill I used to go to random people with no real credentials and have had every type of bad brow imaginable. I've had the ever so popular sperm shaped eyebrow, when an esthetician tweezes almost all of the arch and leaves it bushy towards the middle of the face. I've had the line-brow, which is as unattractive as it sounds. And I've also had horribly uneven brows which cannot even be justified. If people learn best through their mistakes, then I must be some sort of expert in the field of finding a good brow stylist. Anyway, I found Jill. And She is a joy. Even though I probably only see her once every six months, she always asks about my mother and my family and seems to mention things discussed in our previous sessions that I don't even remember telling her! But the real reason I used to drive an hour and a half to see her and still remain faithful to Jill (In spite of the price increases) is because I know she is amazing. When I leave, my eyebrows are so neat and she manages to make arches out of nothing! Her styling really frames the face and is very flattering. I do not leave with burn marks above my eyes from too hot wax and I have really never had a bad experience. One time, a woman told me that she flew all the way from TEXAS to get her eyebrows done by Jill! On a side note. Jill is the best. I was very excited a few years ago when Jill opened her own store with her lovely friend Nicole -- they are so sweet. Bella Cara is adorable, chic and convenient. In addition to leaving with perfectly groomed eyebrows, I have also bought delicious smelling candles and little gifts from Bella Cara. Jill will happily tweeze me instead of wax when needed, and even remembers to ask if I need to be tweezed if it slips my mind. $35 is worth it. There is street parking. Jill has always been so considerate -- from gladly changing my appointment whenever possible if I messed up the timing, to offering to put a little cover-up above my brows if it is red and I have somewhere to go. This review is for spray tan only: This was my 1st spray tanning experience and it was a good one! I found the salon through Yelp, and am very pleased with my choice. This was a personalized spray tan and the lady (not sure of her name) was extremely professional, made me feel comfortable instantly, and walked me through exactly what I should do. My tan, surprisingly, actually lasted about 10 days. I thought there was no way it would last that long, but it really did! It wasn't a scam! I followed all the directions they gave me to enhance the tan and it did make it last long. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the tanning room itself seemed a little dirty. I understand spray tanning is a VERY messy business, and because I've never tanned elsewhere, I don't really know the standards of what a clean room should look like. I just know that I got that feeling of, "this could be a little cleaner," you know what I mean? I'll be back for another tan:) read more

I had to stop seeing stephanie who used to be at the end salon, leonard drake before and now at aqua day spa b/c she got too expensive and too hard to book. So, I was beside myself (and a little hairy), until I went on yelp and found Jill. What more can I say then Jill is great! She knows brows. She knows what fits your face and what will give you that instant lift. She's charming and well mannered (which is hard to find in LA). The only thing I do miss that Jill doesn't offer, is laying down during the brow wax and getting massaged with wonderful smells on my temples.....but there's also something to to be said about getting in, sitting down and getting out all within 15 mins. I highly recommend her to anyone, but please don't make her too busy I can't get in :( read more

Saika is very nice, sweet, and professional. She has been my lash extension esthetician since April this year. I was her customer from her previous place but i followed to her new place and am still her loyal customer and super happy that i can still see her. There is a reason for me to go to a japanese esthetician when i can go to so much cheaper places. They are detail-oriented. She is very thorough and spend her time to give you the right satisfaction. She listens to what you want, and once you open your eyes after long deep sleep during the extension tx,(i always fall in a sleep lol), you will be satisfied. If you are not, she will try at the next appt to choose the right fake lashes. I wanted to have a natural look with my lashes and it is really hard as an asian since i originally have thin, short, and pathetic lashes :(. But people around me told me it looks natural and sometimes i get compliments that i have long pretty lashes. Haha! That was not from my mom but from Saika. :P The lashes usually stay more than three weeks for me. You just need to make sure not to wash your face thoroughly for one or two days ( esp around your eyes) or dont take a shower on the same day you did the extension. So, i always take a shower right before the appt. This place can be a little bit pricy or reasonable to you ( not a cheap place) but your lashes deserve better extension! So you can be happier for a longer period of time! We all deserve better. read more

Really REALLY bad spray tan:( I was looking forward to coming here based on the reviews, but sadly it was a HUGE disappointment! I think the only people saying that it's a good airbrush, have only done a mystic booth and therefore, yes, this is better by comparison. Really fake color, faded super quick and did the weird patchy thing that made me look like I had a skin disease. I did all the prep and post work too...and still BAD. My dog also didn't want to be near me after I got it cuz it had such a yucky smell:( Maybe the brow service is better? Jill at Bella Cara is AMAZING...I had moved to L.A from Seattle in spring of 2008, was going my eyebrow designer in Seattle every 2 weeks...I say designer because let's be honest anyone with an Esthetician license can throw wax on your face and pull it off with muslin strips...I wanted to find someone that really knew what they were doing and was able to shape my brows to frame my face. Most women don't understand that eyebrows are the frames of your face and you should have your eyebrows done/waxed/shaped even if your eyebrow growth is slow or you have very little to work with...as a true eyebrow designer will be able to show you how to fill in or use powder to make your brows look their best. Anyway, as you may have already guessed I'm VERY particular about my eyebrows and I found the perfect eyebrow designer in Jill at Bella Cara in Beverly Hills. She is amazing with the wax and tweezers, she always takes her time in trimming and shaping my eyebrows to my expectations. Jill at Bella Cara is the best in the Beverly Hills L.A. area and I wouldn't trust anyone to do my brows but her...unless you're willing to drive 4 hours to Vegas....but that's a whole different review. read more

First first timers she walks you through how to prep for the spray tan, how the spray works, as well as upkeep. There are different degrees for how dark the tan is and she has examples so you can pick out the color best for you. It is worth the splurge for the personal spray tans. I've been getting my eyelashes done by Saika for almost 1.5 years now. I absolutely adore her. She is very sweet, thoughtful, and meticulous - all the right ingredients for a consistently enjoyable experience. I'm always 5 minutes late (shame on me -___-) and she has never once made me feel anything but welcomed and appreciated when I arrive. She even texts me telling me to drive safe and not hurry - what a gem! Her company is technically called Sakura Beauty, although it is located inside Bella Cara. Her price is mid-range for eyelash extensions, and the quality is outstanding. I'm blond so my eyelashes are almost non-existent looking without makeup. This has lead me to almost always wearing makeup outside the house. With the extensions, I've cut my make-up time in half and often don't even wear eyeliner or mascara. I go once a month and they stay on really great. Start falling off a little after week 3, but I'm cheap so I go the 4 weeks. I get compliments on them all the time. Love love love. Since I have been coming at Bella Cara I discovered my inner beauty. To make long story short I used to shape my eyebrows a certain way and I thought it was the best fit for my face...for YEARS! Not that its ugly or anything but I learned how to embrace my natural eyebrows after Jill took care of them. I felt like there was a schift in me and I ve never experienced this at any other waxing shops. I did go to a different place to see if I could just have the same result somewhere else and it never happened! Sooo as a pastie pastie white Irish-Scottish girl I am TERRIFIED of spray tanning. I had never had a good experience with it. I always seemed to be a bit too orange. Well I was headed to Vegas a few weeks ago with a whole group of tan bitches and i had no choice but to get a tan in a hurry! I look to Yelp ('cuz that's just what you do when you need to find something in this city) and I see Bella Cara. 1) the place is soo cute and parking is a breeze and freeee 2) the price was so right ($68 for two sessions) 3) the girls in there were very nice. made me feel totally comfortable standing around nude in front of someone I don't know. 4) MY TAN WAS PERFECT!!! I'm white. Well, I'm actually Asian, but I'm whiter than white people. Fair-skinned, I like to say...but in truth, I must stay fully clothed for fear of blinding people at the beach with the sun's glare reflecting off my legs. (Okay, so I'm exaggerating a wee bit, but only for dramatic effect.) I don't fake bake due to paranoia over wrinkles, age spots, and the like, so I just stick to stuff like Jergen's Natural Glow moisturizer. One fine Saturday morning, after dropping the furbaby off at Sparky's, I took a little wander down the block and passed by Bella Cara and a big sign that advertised 2 spray tan sessions for $68. "Why not?" I thought to myself, "I deserve a little grooming session of my own, and it's cheaper than Tex's trip to the beauty shop!" I go in and meet the lovely Nicole who assuages my doubts about spray tanning. Luckily she has an opening that afternoon, so I come back, ready to be Southern California-ized (minus the Botox and silicone). We enter a narrow little cupboard of a room in the back, where I strip nude. Nicole is so friendly that I don't feel awkward whatsoever, just a bit self-conscious. She directs me to stand on a little box and starts spraying away - a really bizarre yet soothing sensation - and pretty soon I'm airbrushed to golden perfection! I've gone twice now, and I'm a convert. There's not too much of that yucky self-tanner smell, and each session will last for a week. Only drawback is that the initial bronzer will smudge. Just make sure to exfoliate before (as I learned the hard way) or else you'll become a splotchy oddly colored tan/white creature. read more

Love... this.. place! I was going to go to the snooty Bev Hills eyebrow people because that's where all the popular kids go and frankly, i didn't know where else to get them done but then i heard about Bella Cara and decided to give it a try. Sadly, growing hair anywhere on my body is not difficult for me so i figured hey, if they mess up my eyebrows they will probably grow back by the end of the day anyway so all that will happen is that i will be out some cash. So i went. It's a funny set up. They sell soaps, candles, etc. and then up against one wall is a dresser with a mirror where Jill gets to work on your eyebrows. She is AWESOME. Jill does an amazing job and she's also an easy-going, friendly and fun person to talk to. She shaped my eyebrows beautifully and didn't try to make me look all Aguilera-Drag Queen. Usually when i get my eyebrows done, they take one look at me and want to take a weed wacker to my brow line. She streamlined them for sure but they still fit my face. I have since been back and when I sat down, Jill remembered the last convo we had and had follow up questions since we had last spoken. Believe me, the woman is busy. I had no expectation that she would even remember my name and here she was talking to me like we were old girlfriends. Can't recommend it enough. Oh, by the way, eyebrows are $35. read more

Seriously a great place to get spray tanned. My last experience with spray tanning involved getting into a booth and coming out looking slightly like a Cheetoo... not wanting to relive that oh so fun experience - I decided to try a personalized spray tan. I went to Bella Cara because of my fellow yelper reviews. I met Nicole and she was extremely professional and walked me through exactly what I should do, what was going to happen and made me feel comfortable. I picked a "7" because I needed a tan- and a "5" was just to subtle. My results were great! I was tan from head to toe, evenly done and i couldn't have been happier with the results. I was able to stroll right out to the pool with a nice tan from the start of my vacation. Woo Hoo! Nicole gave me very detailed instructions on how to care for my tan and really emphasized that you can still burn through a tan. I'm going to tan for my next big event. I highly recommend this place - be sure to pay attention to the instructions they give you and read their site before you go. Nicole did a great job with my airbrush tan. She's very informative. They keep a blow dryer on you the whole time so the tan drys very fast which is a plus so you're not dripping in solution which is something I usually dread when getting my spray tan. I went with one of the darkest tans 9%. They have an 11% but she said it's more for people in those fitness competitions. My tan looks completely natural. I'll definitely be back soon to try out the different solutions they have. read more

I've been going to Bella Cara since I moved to LA 6 years ago to get my eyebrows and lip waxing done by Jill - she is absolutely amazing and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my eyebrows. Also, anytime I need to get a spray tan for a special occasion- Nicole is THE BEST you can get a spray tan from. All my friends I've recommended to go there have said the same thing and agreed that the best spray tans they have ever gotten are from Bella Cara as well. I like to get the Bella Venetian spray tan, it is $10 more expensive but worth it because it makes me look like a Greek goddess and perfectly bronzed. I love Nicole, she is sextremely sweet and does such a great job giving me the perfect tan. She is extremely helpful in giving her honest opinion on what is best as opposed to making you look like a clown. The shop is gorgeous and very clean, plenty of street parking. Never had my eyebrows look so great, always had them threaded so giving up the pain is certainly one advantage over tweezing. I just didn't realize how well you can shape eyebrows with tweezing. I have spent the last 14 days on an airplane... literally. In two weeks time, I have been to Nigeria, Norway, Sweden, Finland, France, England, Idaho, Jersey, and San Francisco. A shabby chic, beachy, relaxing atmosphere with lots of lotions, potions and scrubs for sale. Nicole (my airbrushing agent) did a fantastic job of giving me an even, golden bronze glow. Despite my having to stand on a platform, under a bright light, in a paper thong... the experience was not uncomfortable. This was my first spray tan EVER and at $68 for two ... I like my eyebrows. They're thick, arched, black as espresso, and have been an integral part of my face for a loooooong time. But lately they've been a bit...disobedient. It's like they decided to start wandering about a bit, tired of their usual location right above my eye and sending feelers out to other parts of my face (mind you, I wouldn't be picked as an extra for the new Planet of the Apes movie, but *I* notice). Your reviews have helped me get my brows back on track, thanks to the truly charming Jill and her light-as-air touch with the waxing strips. When I went into the shop I said only two things: "I like my brows" and "Please don't make me look like the guys on 'Growing up Gotti'--which I DON'T watch but happened by while channel-surfing). Jill understood immediately, and with a few whisks of her magical wand gave me the most beautiful brows...that look like my natural brows, only more well-behaved. And hey, everyone, you'll not only get better brows, but you'll get two new girlfriends! Jill and Nicole (who does the tanning) were so nice that in the 10 minutes it took to get me browed we had swapped life stories and vowed to see each other at least once a month. So I went into a little room, got sprayed with some all-natural Australian magic spray, and two minutes later voila`! I was the most beautiful golden brown color, without having submitted myself to bad UVA rays, or risking massive leatheriness in my old age. Full discolosure: I have a naturally dark complexion (my ex used to call me "Goldie") and I always thought that anything except my own skin color would look fake. Nicole's magical tanning device makes me look like me, only with a bit more oomph. So, I've avoided that whole Beverly Hills fakey fakenstein look, and you get the little jolt of something kinda nice. Plus you can even get tan lines, if you so desire.
