I loved working with Bella Angel. They did an incredible job on my hair and makeup for my wedding. My artist was amazing and so was the communication whenever I emailed or called. I used Bella Angel for hair/makeup services for my wedding at the end of October 2022. Sue was extremely responsive answering all my questions in the months leading up to the date, mostly through emails, but even jumping on a call when needed!! My preview session with Jackie and Katie was held at the Cherry Hill location, which was convenient since it had a parking lot. I found the preview session (which I was initially hesitant about doing) very helpful since I was able to test out the hairstyle I was considering as well as my makeup and lashes. It was a good trial run where I was able to give my input and request any changes etc and, at the end of the session, I was extremely happy with how my hair and makeup turned out. This helped put my mind at ease for how things would go on my wedding day. On the day of my wedding, Katie and Jackie arrived on time, were very professional, and did an amazing job getting hair and makeup done for everyone, including a couple of extra people for makeup. Jackie did my hair exactly as she had done during the preview session, which was a replication of a photo I had shown her. She even placed my tikka on perfectly. Katie also did an excellent job on my makeup, and it looked exactly the way we had practiced during the preview session. I feel so grateful to have been able to work with Bella Angel's expert team for my bridal hair and makeup. Shannon Noto did my hair and Tanya Belfiore did my makeup. During my trial, both Shannon and Tanya attentively listened to me to ensure that my bridal beauty turned out exactly as I imagined. I wanted to get a hair/makeup company to come to my hotel on the day of my wedding because I thought it would be easier and less stressful, but it ended up being more stressful. I asked a lot of questions beforehand about how the makeup trial works. I told them I really liked MAC products and they said they had it. I was encouraged to bring photos of hair and makeup styles I liked, and I was assured that the trial would not end until I was completely satisfied with the result. So the day of my trial I arrive with my maid of honor and I believe Barbara was my consultant. I brought a lot of photos of makeup and hair ideas that I liked. She coldly told me I had too many photos and to only pick out 1 or 2. She also said my eyes are different so the makeup might not look the same on me either. I picked out a couple of the photos I liked. I wanted a shimmery eyeshadow in either brown or purple. She then asked me to pick out colors I wanted from her eyeshadow palette. I was overwhelmed and didn't really know what colors I wanted just by looking at it, I thought that was her job to figure out colors to use based on my photos and the information I give her. The eyeshadow just didn't look right, something was off. She later told me it was only because I couldn't decide on a color and they had to keep taking it off and reapplying. I think it's just because their makeup is cheap. They also didn't use mac like I asked. She was getting frustrated with me that I was taking so long, and the hair stylist had to do my hair at the same time so I could get done. My eyeliner did not look Smokey like I wanted it either, it looked like sloppily painted on. Eventually I just told her it was fine because I could tell she was annoyed and anxious to leave. She quickly packed her bags up and left and didn't even say bye. I complained to the owner of the company about my consultant and experience. I said my consultant didn't understand what I wanted and I had someone at ulta do my makeup better when I didn't even have to explain anything. She suggested that maybe I should go get my makeup done there then and she'll refund me my money. I was surprised that she said that but figured she just didn't want to deal with me. I said I didn't want to drive anywhere and already told my bridesmaids, so she then offered a makeup trial redo. I had to drive to the cherry hill location this time instead of the philly location which was out of the way, but I agreed. Maybe I should have just took the money refund and ran. The new lady I had was named Bobbi I think and she was definitely more pleasant. My makeup with her did look somewhat better and it was purple shimmery like I wanted it. She used the stick on eyelashes this time cause the individual eyelash extensions bothered my eyes and didn't stay on long. They looked better, but looking back I wish she had asked me if wanted longer eyelashes because in pictures you can hardly see them. Overall the makeup re trial went well but my makeup at my actual wedding didn't quite look as good. I think it was cause she was afraid to go too dark and then have to take it off. I told her I liked it dark and wanted sexy Kim Kardashian style makeup. I must have told her at least 5 times to keep going darker. The eyeshadow just wasn't looking smooth and filling in everywhere, it looked cheap. Eventually I said it was ok because we were running behind schedule and we needed to be done so we could take pictures. Looking back in photos it looks like I hardly have any makeup on. I wanted my makeup to look celebrity quality. I wanted to look different than I did normally and wow people but I looked the same. Maybe it was partly cause I'm used to only using a certain kind of makeup. I figured out afterwards that I wanted a sexy contour type of makeup, but I didn't know what it was called. Contouring wasn't popular yet at this point, but I'm sure they could have figured it out if they asked. I should have just went to MAC and got my makeup done there. They also charge you an extra $20 for airbrush makeup that's supposed to last longer, that's the whole reason I went with this company and not Mac. I thought all the makeup was supposed to be airbrush but it was only the foundation, that is a ripoff. I looked really pale, I wanted to look tan. Also, they charge you money for the trial. It should be included with the package, you're paying enough money for it. The only good thing was my hair came out good and looked like how I wanted it. read more

Not to brag, but I looked stunning and gorgeous at my wedding. I'm going through my wedding photos, and I look great from every angle, even in photos by guests. Bella Angel did such an amazing job. I felt confident all night. I cried at minimum 8 times during my wedding. Cried during my first look. Cried walking up the aisle Cried during the ceremony. Cried walking down the aisle. Cried during four of the wedding speeches. Not a single eyelash out of place. Not a single smudge. The make up looked just as good at 2PM as it did at 2AM. I normally don't wear a lot of make up, and my stylist Becca did a great job of making my make up look beautiful, yet natural. I couldn't even feel the foundation on my face, and it didn't irritate my skin at all, not even at the end of the night after dancing for hours. I was too lazy to wash everything off the night of my wedding, so I left my eye make up that night, and I woke up with all my false eyelashes still intact. My hair was gorgeous. It stayed in place the entire night, but it moved beautifully when I was dancing. I was very impressed. The best thing about my hair and make up was that it was gorgeous and noticeable, but not something I had to fuss with during the day. I didn't have to think about it once they finished working on me. It was perfect. Additionally, they did a great job on my bridesmaids. Everyone loved their hair and make up! My group was an interesting challenge because we had ladies of so many complexions, and it was important to me that I had stylists that would do an amazing job on everyone. Timing-wise, Bella Angel was just impeccable. One of my bridesmaids said to me was concerned about the timing before the day. She had never been to a wedding where hair and make up would finish up at 3.5 hours. I assured her Bella Angel would be on time, and they delivered. They actually finished a bit early! Also, they showed up a little early to have time to set up so it didn't cut into our time for services. This was great and allowed us to have a stress-free, and on-time rest of the day! We had photos immediately afterwards, and then went to the church, and the ceremony started on time because Bella Angel helped us start our day on time. The same bridesmaid said to me right before the ceremony started, "I've never been to a wedding that's started on time." Lastly, what stuck out in my mind is how much my groom loved my look. When he turned around during out first look, he had the biggest smile on his face and said "oh my gosh!!!" He started to tear up; mind you, I've only seen this man cry twice in our 4 years together. But WAIT, there's more- They will also not explain a single thing to you and very casually have you sign a contract that binds you if you do not cancel before 3 days. That's, it 3 days! READ READ READ. They will not contact you for MONTHS until 2 weeks for your wedding demanding finalization and payment. They will tell you they held your date and reserved staff even thought they didn't have you make a deposit. Sue will call you and bully you around with threats. The end result on my wedding day was great. My hair and makeup was what I wanted and lasted all day and night. Becca knows her stuff and made adjustments when I said I wanted more gold or pink or a piece of my hair was not parted the way I wanted. Becca is very talented. She was great at individual fake eyelash application. My first trial was a disaster. The makeup did not last after 2 hours and actually peeled away from by face. The foundation or concealer did not sit well with my skin. I was very nervous about the wedding day so Becca used different foundation (airbrush +$20) and offered a re-do of my trial makeup which worked out better. Victoria was ok. Don't expect to ask a lot of questions. I wanted to communicate the needs of my MOH and MOB but they were not interested so I was a little nervous of how they were going to turn out and if the artist would have the right supplies. It worked out fine but again, do not expect a lot of custom information. Also I asked what brand makeup they used and got a response of professional brands like Bobbi Brown, Mac, Urban Decay, Not the case. Mascara was $4 Maybelline Great Lash (the Pink and green bottle) and the rest was also CVS sold NYX. Be specific about the brand of makeup you want or bring your own. Again the end result looked great and lasted. The process to get there was a bit bumpy for someone who has never gotten married or was nervous about what to expect. read more

Scam artists !! My friend went for a trial to get her make up done. (They did not have black eyeliner? What makeup company doesn't have black eyeliner) The make up was nice but her hair fell out before we got home. So she decided to try another company. After hearing nothing from the company she booked another artist. Fast forward to October(2 weeks before the wedding) and they are emailing her about a confirmation and payment. Long story short she has to pay them $300 for nothing because she signed a form when she was there back in july. If you plan on doing a trial don't sign anything!!!!!! Mother of the Bride - I recommended that my daughter seek an artist familiar w/ darker skin tones. A very large wedding, and at least 10 diverse ladies getting hair and makeup from Bella Angel. My daughter booked months in advance after reading great reviews for women of color and was very excited to have her makeup done by Bella Angel. She spoke with Victoria and asked that she pass along some pictures of what she (the bride) looks like and what she envisioned for her makeup. Victoria, for whatever reason refused to send her pictures to the artist prior to her trial. My daughter sent her photos anyway hoping to make sure her skin tone would be matched prior to her air brush session. Trial location was a bit 'sketchy' but they proceeded with the process. Pictures were taken by a friend during the trial and the color was way too red, the eyebrows were not my daughter's style and there just wasn't anything spectacular about the outcome. I did express concerns about the harsh red undertone and the artist gave an answer about how the photographers prefer red, but they will order her correct color for the wedding. Hmmm, doesn't sound too reassuring to me, we've had professional pictures before. My daughter was trying to coach the stylist and was hopeful she would eventually get it correct. That evening my daughter literally had to go home and fix her makeup because it was a poor job with coverage, eyebrows and matching her complexion. Airbrush wasn't providing proper coverage, so the artist mostly used foundation and a lot of blush. My daughter was sad and proceeded to tell me that she didn't want to be rude but tried to tell the artist on several occasions how to fix, apply and manage her skin appropriately. I recommended she contact the manager and ask for another trial session with the correct skin tone color. My daughter is in her 3rd year of Dental School, doesn't have a lot of time and wanted me to set up another appointment or get recommendations for a solution. She also didn't enjoy her initial contact with Victoria regarding sending before pictures or Victoria's communication style. Okay. Seems to me like an easy fix. I call the shop and leave a message, expressing a few concerns. Shade doesn't match, too red, daughter not happy, how we can resolve, please call me back. Victoria calls and leaves me a long voice message full of a bunch of excuses. Not once did she apologize for our discontent. She spoke with the artist and said the following, "[your daughter] said she LOVED her makeup. Victoria, said she saw the pictures and thought they were beautiful, on her wedding day it will be fine, blah, blah, blah more excuses, excuses, excuses." Okay Victoria, now I'm annoyed. You have NOT addressed any of my issues and concerns. We have a large diverse bridal party and I don't really care what 'YOU' think is beautiful since it's not your daughter or your wedding. We are the client and paying a lot of money for your services. Stop making excuses and LISTEN to your client's needs then communicate or supply a solution. A simple, "I'm sorry you're not satisfied, let's see what we can do to resolve these issues. We'll order the correct color and let's try to get a better match. What day are you available to try again?" That would have been an appropriate response. Victoria would never call 'ME' back directly. I was not willing to wait until the day of the wedding with the hope that you get her shade correct. I'm posting a review of this online and maybe I'll get a response." I proceeded to post a negative review online. Ohhh...so now you call our wedding planner. You tell her that, "I'm Mean" and I posted a negative review that could hurt your small business. Victoria, what the heck is wrong with you? You're a grown woman, with what I thought was a reliable business. I'm not mean, I'm assertive. You need to learn how to take constructive criticism and listen to what clients are telling you. It's business, nothing personal. Long story short, Victoria still would never call or email me back directly. She harassed my daughter. I took down the negative review and immediately get a call from my wedding planner stating, "Victoria thinks it's best if we no longer continue with this process. She'll send me my money back ($100+) for the single trial." WTH...so, 42 days before our big wedding day in JUNE, a huge wedding party and over 10 ladies to get hair/makeup, contracts signed months in advance, over a year planning you want to tell me this...NOW!?! So there you go!! Victoria, thanks for nothing! Bella Angel, hmmm BELLA DEVIL is more like it. I wonder how many other people Victoria has bullied into removing negative reviews? Seems to be her M.O. I had a wonderful experience with Bella Angel! Victoria was very responsive and answered all of my questions. I had a preview session about 6 weeks before the wedding. The preview session went great and both the makeup & hair stylists wanted me to be completely happy with both before leaving! On the day of (12/3/16), the 3 stylists arrived at Hotel Monaco on time and all 11 of us were ready in about 3 hours! The best part was we did not even need to leave our hotel room!
