The beach is gated although if your dog is a good swimmer, may want to make sure they don't go over the rocks divider. Once you finish, there is hose down area before you head back out. First, I really appreciated that the park was separated with sections for large and small dogs. Second, the section for the large dogs is pretty large. Unfortunately during our visit, there were no other dogs at the park. While there was plenty of open space, I didn't notice too much shade, which is probably why there were not too many dogs during our early afternoon visit, but I guess that's a minor concern. Although we do not live in Annapolis, I can see us visiting again (even with the $9 entrance fee) as a means to tire out the pup before checking out a local restaurant.

Mostly paved with mounds covered in artificial grass. The holding pen has a trash can and offers poop bags. Unfortunately, people are NOT cleaning up after their dogs. First, what I like, is the size. It's a decent amount of area for the dog to run and play. The surface is a mix between mulch and dirt. It doesn't stick to dog's fur like other types you would see, so that was nice. There are plenty of balls for the toy focused pup to fetch with. They have a smaller lot to park and there has never been a issue with that. There is a section for smaller dogs, but that's rarely used. What is disappointing is the lack of a water system. It's just buckets that owners fill up. The problem is that it's standing water and I'm not a huge fan of that. Also if you forget water, then your dog is going to be thirsty. I'd like to see some dog obstacles. A tunnel, a hurdle, or even an A-frame for them. It's either hit or miss with the amount of dogs you'll see. The most I've ever encountered was 5 other dogs and there have been times were we are the only ones there. Obviously going at prime time on nice days will increase the chances of socialization, but that's never a guarantee, especially here. Overall, it's not bad. Just bring water and hope for other dogs. Look for us! He's the fun loving Brittany. :D

I chose this park for my walk/jog last Saturday and I liked that it wasn't too packed at the time. There were groups of people exercising and there were others solo like me! It's not a big park, but still plenty of room for everyone! I couldn't quite remember the entrance for parking so I ended up parking by the Chidos restaurant. I saw others parked there and heading toward the park so I figured it was fine. Also it wasn't during business hours either so I wasn't worried.

The park is well utilized and populated with other park goers and sporting activities. Plenty of parking, easy access, and restroom facilities of portable toilet near the playground and soccer field. Witnessed several soccer games and lacrosse team sports while visiting and driving through the park. Stadium lighting enabled game play after the sun had set. Fields all appeared to be well maintained. Fitness trail with instructional signage and equipment was well maintained and an impressive feature. Plenty of trails could be seen from our vantage point. Multiple covered shelters with plenty of picnic tables. Lots of dog walkers and foot traffic. We enjoyed the pirate ship playground equipment as well as swings, including one specifically outfitted to accommodate special needs. Play activity equipment was scattered around the large soft-surface playground, including a drum and bell stand and spinning equipment, with a handful of benches scattered about surrounding the area to accommodate watchful oversight close by. Especially in autumn, the trails here are extensive and the scenery is beautiful. There are a few little hidden areas you have to go out of your way to find, but it's worth the walking and very peaceful. Good for dogs or romantic walks. I never see shifty people hanging around, which is a huge plus and part of what sets this park apart from some other ones in the area.

However, I wanted to post a review because nobody has for a long time and maybe it will help others with younger kids. First, getting there. The address is Davidsonville Rd but it's actually a side street called Ed Dokes (I think). There is a signal light that doesn't appear in Google maps (I reported all this to Google). Just look for the Crofton High School marquee, and turn there! The equipment looked fairly new to me, and definitely well maintained, with plenty of climbing opportunities as well as the swings. There are two adaptive swings There are several picnic tables here and there, and lots of lovely trees. We didn't go check out the trails, but I will probably go back alone to do that sometime.
