It is gluten-free and just bursting with refreshing and light lemon and passionfruit flavors! Simply dessert perfection! They had a few other gluten-free options as well. I was leaning toward ordering this, but first asked a staff member which of the gluten-free items was her favorite. She said the Lemon and Passionfruit Cheesecake, so that settled it! As a celiac, I would love to see more GF items, but this one is really all I need! Overall rating: *****FIVE STARS***** Gluten-free rating: ***THREE STARS***

Really quite terrible:…read more - Bread was bland. - The scallop pie everyone raves about on Google was really fishy and gross, and mostly made of not scallops. Did not taste fresh at all. - All of the fruity desserts (pear & passionfruit) tasted like soap and artificial flavor. - Vanilla bar custard was flavorless. - Chocolate was like from a box. - The whipped cream inside the lamington was the only ok part, certainly saved only by the fact that it's almost physically impossible to mess up sweetened whipped cream. They gave it the good old college try, though, by putting that sickly medicine-flavored jam on it. Staff was friendly and no one's actually died from the meal, so I suppose it gets one star for that. But 0/8 items tried were actually good. How atrocious. Would absolutely not go here.

Why didn't I take photo? Why? Far out. Ok. Just please believe what I will tell you. Coffee and fresh juices -excellent. I would say better selection than most other inner city cafe. Lunch- I had beautiful salsa with corn fritters ( bacon optional) value for money-5, taste-5 not oily or dense at all, tasty, sexy, just scrumptious!!!!!! Snacks- peanut butter bliss ball. Yes nuff said Cake- you know those orange cakes with edible flowers on top. Yes they have lots of those and all their friends too. I am talking bout a good 20 selection of beautiful fresh and delicate looking cakes. Not your local deli sponge cake or frozen cheesecake. No siree What else - how about fresh baked baguettes and bread, house made cookies and biscuits??? Don't forget the small selection of foodie things on their shelf that you can buy . Honey, preserves. Ohmygatrrtrrdfddd Someone tell them they are seriously undercharging. Awesome food awesome chef awesome everything!

We walked in after being enticed by the lower prices and found three women behind the counter, laughing and cutting up with each other - there was just a great vibe in this happy little cafe. We stayed and are glad we did! They have a large selection of pies, pasties, pastries, desserts and sandwiches, served cold, hot or as toasties. We opted for the turkey, swiss, cranberry and spinach on focaccia- toasted. It was delicious and large. We also split a Napoleon (vanilla slice to Aussies) and had a cream soda and ginger beer - $39. Granted it meant the sodas and desserts must have been as much or close to the sandwich but the prices weren't listed for those so was a bit of a shock when the sandwiches were only $8.80. Hence 4 stars instead of 5. So check the prices before you order any extras you may want! Overall everything was first rate and uber fresh.

While eating there, around 30 minutes, there been at least 4 groups of Australian coming in to get food, including the girls from the local lifeguards located around 15-20 minutes walk. The place had a quiet small town restaurant feel to it. Service wise, the lady taking the orders was like she had just eaten a bitter gourd, didn't smile and was not pleasant at all. Nevertheless she took our orders quickly and prepared the food quickly. She was also attentive as she quickly came to assist when I walked over to the dessert display after the meal. There was another helper, making the drinks and sandwich. We ordered couple of pies, fish burger and drinks. The pie was great, not too salty and contain chunks of meat, imho better than that of Dinkum Pie at The Block, Melbourne. Not only was it better, it was also much cheaper but after all this is a small town compared to Melbourne. The fish burger was large and was freshly prepared with fresh greens in it. Overall the food was good and the pricing was cheap.
