I LOVE their Chicken Curry pies. There. I said it.
Being that I'm a non native, and only working in the area at the time, I ate here after work a few days a week after work because the pies were so good and fresh and quick. In the US we seem to only have chicken and turkey "pot pie" which is difficult to equate in terms of similarity, maybe like a hearty thick chicken cream soup in a pie with peas and carrots. I didn't see a single chicken pot pie in Australia. BUT I did discover this little wonderful bakery with their amazing assortment of other delicious fare.
In particular, I loved their chicken curry pie. I added chipotle pepper from home to it to kick it up a notch and bring in that smoky lustrous flavor noted in that particular brand of pepper.
I wish I could learn to make these and a number of their breads at home, I just can't seem to find any place in the US that I've been that compares. read more
