Wine tasting time
Irina P.

This wine tasting experience was absolutely what we needed! A cute barn, awesome hosts and of course Greta wine! Their Pinot is really nice and I really loved tasting also some unusual Sauvignon blanc! I ended up signing up for a membership and looking forward to going back there soon

Exceptional experience for those looking for an off the beaten path wine tasting experience. The Belden's know how to welcome folks and you feel like you're part of the family by the time you leave. Rustic, rural, cool and fun. Great wine, the gruner veltliner is a gem, wonderful pinot (for fruit forward fans and those of us wine nerds who like more rustic stuff), killer sauvignon blanc, nice syrah, and don't miss the sparkling. Don't forget to wish big.

The estate

What a great spot. Our car got stuck in the mud and Nate got his truck over and helped us tow it out. The property is wonderful and the wines are delectable. Since this was after the COVID lockdown, we had the entire estate to ourselves and watched a gorgeous sunset sitting under an acorn filled wishing tree. The irony was that our wish had already come true for finding such a amazing estate and owners.

This was such a unique experience at Belden Barns. It was an intimate and special tasting with Nate and Lauren as they shared their stories and lives with us. Beautiful location. The wines were exceptional- the sav blanc is an absolute must (it'll make you a white wine fan!). There wasn't a wine that we didn't just absolutely love. We all joined the wine club. Don't miss this hidden gem - it's a must do while in Sonoma area.

Gorgeous property

Beautiful property and great wines. Belden Barns makes small-production Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, two Pinot Noirs, and Syrah. Most of the wine is sold to wine club members. The wines are outstanding and very reasonably priced. Belden Barns does not have a tasting room open to the public but you may contact them if you wish to set up a tasting for groups.

Their wines were delicious; the whites had a hint of elderflower scent and there was a nice, lighter Chardonnay, not too buttery. For reds, the Cab was full bodied and fruity. Their Malbec tastes authentic and showed off the winemaker's South American roots. Our very knowledgeable and cheerful guide Nicole, said the winemaker came from Chile. Her descriptions were helpful and she had a friendly, energetic enthusiasm which showed a true love of her job. The was a good full plate of cheeses and salamis available. They even gave us a "to go" cup to wander around the grounds, so overall it was a very generous pour to sample! Highly recommended to book in advance and allow time to explore the grounds.

We stumbled across this property on a recent visit with my dad who lives in the area and I'm so glad that we did. We didn't have reservations but we're still accommodated. Chris took us through our tasting for the day and was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and had a ton of great food recommendations for the area. The estate tasting consisted of 6 wines for $35. We were given a delicious pour of their non vintage brut rose as a welcome pour. I enjoyed all of the wine that we tasted through. Somehow during our visit I missed their lavender gardens but that just means I have to plan another visit.

I have enjoyed this offering at St Francis at least once a year and it never disappoints. The food is fresh, unique and delicious, the flavors accentuated by the wines. On this visit, the potato and Gruyère soup was a standout, as was the beet gnudi that was deeply flavorful with the mushroom sauce reduction that had great depth and heft. The service was attentive and friendly as always, with a lot of knowledge about the food, wines and region shared through the meal. Set in a beautiful room with a view of their vineyards, it's a lovely few hours. I highly recommend if you're looking for an experience in wine country.

The reds were a pinot noir and zinfandel, but neither really stuck to me. For the whites, it was a sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. The chardonnay was okay but the sauvignon blanc was my favorite out of all 4. Not only does it smell sweet and fruity, but it also tastes like it! I ended up buying a bottle of it to bring home ($35 if you're not a member). Our wine was paired with 12 spreads. All of them were delicious and some were even quite unique, like the sweet pea one! My favorites were the brie, carrot, and rhubarb spreads. Not really sure if I concluded on which spread paired the best with which wine, but they were nice snacks to munch on. If you're seated outdoors, you get a nice view of the vineyard as well as some mountains. There also looked to be some pedal powered trolley, which we saw a group doing but didn't do it ourselves.

Even after moving from the Bay Area to the Central Coast, we continue to visit and stock premium La Crema wines. Our favorites are clearly the "Nine Barrel" Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Kelli Ann Vineyard Chardonnay is right up there with our all-time favorites, year after year! If you're looking for a wine club (and we've been in dozens and dozens of them over the years), La Crema is the place to start. When we arrived I was amazed at how beautiful the estate is and the vineyards are well kept and breathtaking. As we entered the estate we were greeted my the host as my friends had reservations and since it was a hot day we did our tasting inside with a wonderful window view of the vineyards. We were each giving a glass of the Pinot Noir Rose which was absolutely refreshing and delicious this was actually my favorite wine. We had wine tasting of both Red and White wines. I am more of a Pinot Noir drinker than Chardonnay. Every tasting we had was really good, but no of them topped that fantastic Rose. Ursula, I believe was her name was our wine host is she was amazing and explained the different wines and the vineyards and where their grapes are grown. After out tasting we had a really nice picnic outside and enjoyed each others company. I would definitely come back without a doubt.
