Simply awful! Over $40K in damages, only covered $26K in damage. Ruined so many sentimental things that cannot be recovered. Truely a scummy group to work with... got to our final destination and they held our stuff hostage saying that the move took more man hours that estimated.. then proceeded to extort another $5K or they would not release my stuff. completely lied about how many guys and how long they were there. When the guys were there, they stood around mostly. They actually were not the lowest cost provider.. I went with them because I thought they had the best team. WRONG! read more

The original estimate was less than 5,000$ but they tried to charge me 8,000$. The estimate is a blatant lie.

I called this company on Aug. 4 for a Aug. 26 moving date. I was told that was not an issue and they could move on this date. The person doing the price quote did not come to the home until Aug. 18 and gave us an estimate of the costs. I said I would accept that and he told me he would have to check to see if the 26th was available. He called me back on the 20th and said they could not do the move. I was floored. Luckily I was able to book an excellent moving company and we did move on the 26th. I would never recommend this company due to the way we were treated. Recently moved with the help of Bekins Moving Co., Wilkes-Barre, and their crew! These men were courteous and co-operative. They took great care not to damage any of our possessions. I hired this moving company for residential move. They sent out a gentleman for a moving quote who seem to be nice and respectable which is why I hired them. On the day of the move three gentlemen came to my home to pick up my boxes. They smoked multiple cigarettes during the job and just complained about how bad their job was they did not wrap the furniture appropriately nor did they stack boxes the right way. This should have been my first clue and I should have asked them to take my boxes off the truck and leave. When my items arrived at my new place the next day my furniture was destroyed. Items were broken including the bedroom set, chests and drawers also the dining room table which had broken legs and chips .. the man insisted that the items came this way prior to their arrival.. which was obviously a lie. The items are brand new. I called the company to file a complaint, 2 gentleman by the names of Rick and Rich both spoke to me in a disrespectful manner shouted and yelled. I called their corporate office in hopes of being able to file a claim which I'm currently going through. Doesn't seem like they're that attentive. Hopefully I'll have some luck with repairing the damaged items which their company did. I do not recommend using this company if you are in the market for a moving team. I hired this company because the estimator was professional and responsive. The movers who moved me out of my home in Pa. were great. And this is where the good story ends. My belongings were in "storage" in Mountain Top for less than a month while I relocated to Colorado. What happened to our belongings is unbelievable. One 18th century table top is split and a 1 inch chunk is missing from the edge. Two feet are entirely broken off. Another antique chest has two broken legs. An antique Sheraton chair was obviously left where something had dripped on the back rail. The TV that they packed is destroyed, with hairline cracks throughout the screen. They "lost" my ladder. An antique rowing oars' blade is shattered and they tried to patch what they could together with some kind of yellow glue but there are pieces missing. I packed myself and one crystal glass was broken along with another coffee mug and a fruit bowl. Bekins packed the TV, which arrived broken. This company did so much damage............it's hard to believe they are still in business. We've filed our claim with their claims department and I've had to "chase" them for accountability. A repair man is scheduled to show up who claims he will be "repairing" my furniture in 1-2 days. Meanwhile, the Mountaintop firm has washed their hands of us, although they did run my credit card as soon as the mover left their facility. He claims to have seen them drop my furniture off their loading dock. This is so unfortunate and they've already told me that they will not be liable if I move the broken furniture before they "appraise" the damage. They don't deserve any stars but it seems I can't post this review with out one. They don't deserve your business. read more

I should have checked here before trying to hire this company! They have wasted my time for over a month!! They assured me that they would move my large items (which we had by the doors) On the day of the move 3 young men came in and looked at the items - the rest of the house is cluttered (we are moving after all) and they refused to do the job. I called Rick who said I should be reported to the health department!! He was telling me about my house when he has not been here!! He claimed there was a smell from animals (1 dog, 2 cats and litter pan was cleaned out a few hours before they arrived) I don't know what "smell" they were talking about maybe the air freshener we keep near the litter pan?? They claimed they couldn't even breathe - the house was wide open - 3 doors with fresh air. And again items to be moved were just inside the doors!! These guys just didn't want to work! If you don't want the job say so from the beginning!!! They have jerked me around for over a month!!! They are getting 1 star because I can't do zero stars!!! read more

After moving noticed my very expensive pair of sun glasses were swapped out of their case with a cheaper pair. Roughly $350.00 pair of sun glasses. Sent in claim with all documentation they requested and got a very generic response. Basically, they looked into it and have no proof my glasses were stolen. I wasn't even asking for money just wanted to make sure the gentleman that were with my items were notified that customers items were claimed stolen. read more

We had our furniture and household items in storage for 16 months. Upon delivery, they said all boxes were delivered. However, upon opening our large plastic containers, we found items missing - men's sport coats, cashmere coats, designer purses etc, We believe this to be, not a case of missing items, but an actual THEFT. Things were actually missing from these large plastic containers. It seems that the workers at the storage warehouse had a field day with our items. We contacted the agent and received $200 and $150 of that was used to repair damaged furniture. They never addressed our concerns. While we obviously will never see a dime more and certainly such an accusation would be hard to prove, please believe an honest retired couple who just want to save others this experience. Edward Z June 2015 We recently moved from Pa. to Florida; The worst part of the experience was Bekins. We purchased a furnished home so we had an LOL (which means less than a full load); we were combined with another small move. Our belongings were stored in the Wilkes-Barre, Pa. warehouse because the original truck that was scheduled to move our belongings was full. It sat for a few days then was reloaded, driven to Jacksonville,Fl where it sat for a couple of more days. Upon arrival at our new home the movers kept prompting us to go inside and relax which we respectfully refused to do. When they opened the doors, we understood why. Our belongings started to tumble out of the truck. It looked as though it was loaded for the land fill. Wepersonally packed everything in bubblewrap and used Rubbermaid totes (not boxes)which were clearly marked (HEAVY-FRAGILE). Heavy totes were piled on top of fragile totes, packed upside down; bottoms were crushed. Of the few pieces of furniture we moved every piece was damaged. Legs were broken off every piece with a leg. Heavy duty UHaul wardrobe boxes containing our clothes were crushed so our clothes were covered in dirt. The GROSS NEGLIGENCE IN PACKING WAS APPARENT!! Everything was just stuffed into the space allowed with no regard to the outcome. We moved an antique table that was wrapped by us and arrived without the quilt that covered it(I guess someone liked it). We also moved a wooden antique wall mirror which we triple wrapped in heavy duty bubble wrap; the wrap was scraped off and the wood was grossly damaged. We had a NEW hand-truck which still had the packaging on it; it never arrived(I guess the movers needed one). I called the customer service while the movers were still at our home; she told us to photograph and document everything. What a JOKE!! The claim form asks for description of damage, estimated weight, original cost, date acquired, amount claimed ( essentially, lots of details) when the claim is paid solely on weight. So.....the antique table and mirror cost $500 to repair but you get $.60 a pound for the damage. Do the math! Try to repair/replace damaged or unusable furniture with $.60 on a pound. So, the insurance is based on the weight not the replacement. No wonder they don't care!!! I sent a letter and photos with the claim forms. When the agent called to confirm receipt of the claim she hadn't ever LOOKED AT THE PHOTOS or read the letter. They picked what things they wanted to cover based on estimated weight in order to qualify a small refund. We received $.60 a pound; which didn't even cover the cost of replacing one bookcase. In fact, our refund didn't even cover the repair of the table and mirror. They told us to send estimates for repair; another JOKE. If you are planning to use Bekins, you are better off selling everything and buying new when you arrive. I wouldn't even give them one star!!! read more

The folks they sent for both loading and unloading were very professional and friendly. Couch and chairs probably should have been shrink wrapped, but came through ok, so harm, no foul. This was a full house move out of state, and nothing was damaged in transit, which is far better than I've had with other movers in the past. Nor did they do any damage to walls, etc., as they were moving furniture in and out of tight spaces. I can't comment on their packing of items, as we packed most everything ourselves, and we pack bombproof. But none of our boxes were damaged or crunched upon arrival anyway. The communication from ACE - Bekins from my first call to them through delivery was excellent. Moving is stressful enough, and these folks seemed to get that. They were very reassuring when they arrived that everything would be ok and very helpful with last minute things that had to go on the truck. They were always on top of keeping us informed about timing, etc., and were very easy to work with. Price was very competitive as well. I would recommend them without reservation and would use them again. read more
