Great service loading, storing and unloading. The men that did the work for us were professional, hard working and never complained. Moving is expensive and it is easy to want to cut costs where you can. However, Bekins was worth every penny that is paid. It was a little bit more than the PODS/U-Pack Trailers, but again worth every penny. The extra cost meant I didn't have to run around town gathering last minute items to make the PODS work, I didn't have to worry about finding movers, moving heavy boxes, packing up the televisions, etc. There is SO much more than goes into moving than people realize. Bekins was there every step of the way, communicated effectively and timely, and even stopped by the day of the move and has followed up consistently after the move. (I also significantly underestimated how small the U-Pack trailers actually are and it would have been a huge mess if we had gone this route). read more

This company was great. I called them for a estimate of cost and they were lowest of the three I contacted. Their crew showed up when they said they would and delivered our belongings the next day as promised, a distance of 300 miles. The crew was very friendly. While they worked they were laughing and joking joking with each but it did not interfere with their getting the job done. When they delivered nothing was broken or damaged. I use this company to move from Canyon to Amarillo. I came up missing some property and call the owner who was very nice, but never resolve my issue. The Ottoman question is a jack that's on the floor with four wheels and rows across the room. I am a disabled veteran and those jacks are the only way I can move my furniture around. Now it's been a couple a week since I've talk to them and haven't heard one word. They were very nice but all of my property did not make it to my house. read more

Do not use A & W Transfer & Storage. I moved from Amarillo to Austin, Texas. The company "lost" my Xbox and didn't deliver my desk chair. I assume someone just stole the Xbox, but losing a large box containing a desk chair is absurd. I called the company and got a claim form. After sending that back, I called the company after not hearing anything. They told me my chair was still in their warehouse and that I'd have to wait for a truck to pass through Amarillo on its way toward Austin. I was given no time table. After many phone calls, the company still was not being helpful. I filed a police report about the Xbox, but the company didn't seem to care. My chair was still sitting in the warehouse, and it was going on a month later. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and called A & W about five days later. That's when they started being slightly helpful. I was told a check for the Xbox was on its way, and they were shipping my chair via UPS. It had been about a month now. About 25 days after filing the claim, I received a check for $30 for the Xbox. To be fair, I will say that I did not get the company's "For All It's Worth" insurance, so they were nice to cover 10 percent of the claim. But more 30 days after my things arrived at my new place, I received my chair. It was just sitting in their warehouse for thirty days! Contacting the BBB was the only way to get the company to do a thing. The chair was broken, but I can't for sure fault A & W for that. UPS could have broken it. Then again, who knows what A & W did with it in the warehouse for a month. A & W is an awful company, and by proxy, its parent Bekins is no better. Do not use either. They're shady and not helpful. read more

we moved from Pampa to San Angelo,the movers where very helpful. We had paid for crates for a 4'x5' painting and 2 flat screens ,they didn't use the crates. We where told we would get a refund never got it .they did bring wardrobe boxes for us to use. A lot of confusion over the type service . read more

We hired A & W transport to move our furniture. Our move was local and I was a bit hesitant to call such a big company, thinking their prices would be too high. Their rates were reasonable and the service was excellent. The managers or owners answered the phone every time I called, which is very important to me. They sent two movers and a huge Bekins truck. They were very professional, skilled, and worked hard to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. The whole process went smoothly and I will always recommend them. A+ read more

Sales rep failed to disclose additional fees; not consistent with quote provided. After I got the final bill I discussed it over the phone with the sales rep; she admitted she did not tell me that the Day Certain Load price quoted varied depending on weight and that it in fact had nothing to do with the date; I was charged $160.60 extra. She also apologized that she did not advise me that the insurance price would go up according to the weight. The day of the move I asked several times if the insurance price would go beyond the $200 and was assured that it would not go up; I was charged $80 extra. The sales rep voiced she was sorry that she did not explain the facts in detail and that my cost went up by $240.60. I asked since she admitted to being at fault and not disclosing the correct information if they were willing to resolve this by removing the $240.60 from the final bill but she said there was nothing she could do about it. The movers that handled my goods at the pick-up location, as well as drop-off, were very courteous, professional and friendly. They took extra care and there was no damage. Even the office staff was professional and pleasant. I would highly suggest you get everything in writing, in detail, so there are no surprises. I did get other quotes before going with them and they seemed to be competitive but with a weight of 3420 pounds traveling 1642 miles it was $3558, which I thought to be expensive.
