Most use primarily dried ingredients (think falafel mixes that you can buy in bulk at most grocery stores). With dried falafel - dried chick peas, dried herbs, dried garlic - the taste ends up pretty flat. At the very appropriately named Fresh Falafel, the fresh herbs, chick peas, garlic and spices combine to create a bright and well-textured basis for gyros and wraps. Oh, and because they are friendly, fast and in my neighborhood. I'm told their kafta is pretty killer, too.

There is street parking around the corner - the parking lot is for PSU use. The food was average for me. The beef had a good char and the sauce added some great flavor. I did feel like the beef and plate itself ate slightly sweet for me. Maybe it was sumac? I liked the onion slices, but feel like the side of pickled vegetables added too much to the plate for me.

We discovered them in Winter 2022 and have been faithful to return regularly since our first experience. Nestled away quietly on Taylor Street, Shalom Y'all is a lovely little venue full of delightful food and drinks. We have learned that if they have our favorite liquor on the specials menu, always try it (I'm a gin guy, so this is quite often an option). I've never had one of their specials that I didn't love. Otherwise, a standard martini is solid! Their menu doesn't change often or that much, which is wonderful. They have a moderately sized menu but what they do, they do WELL! Foods I can speak to: Warm Castelvetrano Olives, Hummus & Pine Nuts, Hummus & Spicy Lamb merguez, Lamb Carnitas, Baharat Chicken Kebab, and King Salmon. ALL ARE AMAZING! Food superior to the vast majority of other food joints in the PDX metro. The service is always on-point. They keep their servers with few tables, so you get very quick and personalized service. The ambiance is warm and modern without being fussy. They know how to keep it comfortable in a lively setting. We've never been when the sound of delightful voices didn't fill the air. Highly recommended. Lovely venue. Absolutely nothing but positive to rave about this place. Anything less than a 5-star review is inaccurate. Go andEnjoy! ADDITIONS: We've recently added their Roasted Cauliflower and Braized Kale to our favorites - AMAZING!!! Lastly, Tyler is absolutely above-and-beyond, our favorite waiter in all of the Portland. I would say his friendly smile, amazing demeanor, bubbly personality, and just overall general pleasant presence makes every experience a 100 of 10 stars! Thanks to Tyler and the team for making every experiene magical!

We ordered the Melon salad, hummus, calamari, hangar steak, chard cabbage, corn and sesame / chocolate ice cream for dessert. Standout dishes were the hangar steak as it was cooked perfectly and the sauce with it was amazing. The corn was also super flavorful!! It felt a bit smaller than their other restaurants but it still had a very cool vibe to it. Kyle took great care of us throughout the evening - we will definitely be back!

The fries were also perfect. Golden brown and crispy without being over cooked. Perfect saltiness where you could not stop eating. Just a great meal that was super well priced for amazing food. In my view, bad things can happen to any business, it's how they handle it that matters most. Bumping my rating accordingly.
