I think that the Parkridge as a whole is a great nonprofit organization that helps women. It helped…read moreat first by doing a pregnancy test, to see if I was pregnant, and once I found out that I was they offered a freee sonogram, and then there was a lady that calls me every so often to check up and see how I am doing. They also offer classes called Bridges, and they are free classes for pregant women. There are five classes, and then a celebration class. In the classes there are other women, that are in the same shoes as you, they are pregnant, and this class becomes your own unique support group. Every class there is a different speaker on topics that you will experience during pregnancy: Pregnancy, Labor & Delivery, Newborn Care, Parenting, and Self Care. At the begining of each meeting there is a dinner, and then we would talk as a group about the topics, and if we had any questions or concerns, they would be answered. There are different reading that we did as "homework," but really it helped answered a lot of questions that I had and I feel better prepared now then before. I feel that these classes are instrumental and are very helpful, and I hope that you sign up for them, because they truly are great and I think would help you as well.
