I would give this office zero stars if I could. Several of the staff members were nice enough, but I was repeatedly harassed by one of the technicians. When I expressed my concerns to the management, they chose to take a defensive stance and treated me like I was making it up stating "no one had ever complained before". The owners/management were clearly more concerned about protecting their reputation than objectively addressing my complaint. I pre-paid thousands of dollars and they refused to refund any portion of the services rendered despite my dissatisfaction with the experience. After a considerable number of back-and-forth emails and phone calls, I was finally able to make arrangements for them to refund the remaining balance I had pre-paid. They had well over a week to do so. To add further insult to injury, when I arrived to pick up my refund, the office manager Barbara treated me with a NASTY attitude and still had not written my check. I was forced to sit and wait for 20 minutes while the staff member I initially had the problem with made sure to parade around me menacingly to the point where I felt so uneasy I had to leave and wait outside. The reason I went to this office in the first place was due to all the positive reviews I found online. I wrote a negative review about them on a different website yet now their entire Indiana office's profile has been taken down from it. I now see that a possible reason this chiropractor has all good reviews is because his office takes down profiles showing negative ratings. My therapy was cut short and it took several communications over a month from the time I complained to get my money back. I am made to feel like this was intentional. I originally went to this place at a level 10 pain and because they hijacked my money I was left in a state of daily pain while I waited for my refund so I could afford to go to another clinic. I blame this in part to Barbara's dismissive and vindictive attitude. I had to completely restart my therapy from the beginning with half as much money at another clinic. My experience with this place was a complete waste of time and resources that still leaves me feeling angry and cheated months later. read more

A friend and I went visited Kothmann's after meeting an Michelle (the owner, i think) at a bridal show. She offered us a wellness exam and we accepted. We did not get our backs adjusted because they have a policy to doing x-rays before an adjustment can be done. They offer on-site xrays but dont develop them immediately. This is different from any other chiropractor i've been to who dont xray at all. They did, however, do an extensive consultation followed by a couple of other therapies. This place seems more like a physical therapy place than a chiropractic office. They have MANY MANY different machines and gadgets. Everything is out on the floor and multiple patient are getting treated at the same time, side-by-side. If you are a private person, I dont recommend coming here. One downside is that the office seems pretty disheveled. There were random things everywhere. This is probably because they are getting ready to move to a new location and their office was recently flooded. Michelle is wonderful. She is very nice and makes you feel very comfortable. Korey, the doctor, is very nice too. I highly recommend this place! read more

I don't recommend that anyone goes to this place. If interested why read my story below. I was looking for a new chiropractor that was going to be gentle and not hurt me like I've been hurt at the joint chiropractic center by actually having my ribs broke on my right side. Took 6 months to heal and still have pain here and there to this day. I was afraid to see another chiropractor due to what happened. I suffer from migraines so I knew I needed some kind of relief in my neck. I found this place Kothmann Chiropractic, Lubbock advanced physical medicine. The best of the west. I called them and visited 1st time in September 2020. All staff was awesome except the rude greeting from receptionist named Jessica reddish hair with glasses. Not friendly at all. I started to believe I shouldn't even be there and if I would even get the right care. I stayed anyhow and got treated by Dr. Cale, he was professional and gentle. I still had an erry feeling when I left and didn't ever wanna return. I kept dodging their phone calls to go over a schedule to be seen and what not. She made me feel so uncomfortable. Fast forward January 2021 was seen at ER for migraine attack. That next day Monday had no choice but to call and go in to see them to get relief. Was put on the table that moves while an assistant pressed on your back to stretch your muscles. Well, as this was only my 2nd time here, it became my nightmare! I don't know if I wasn't on the table correctly or what but she pushed on my left rib area and I felt a pop and got up and was scared as hell. I looked over at my husband and said no not again, just about in tears. Dr. Cale came over and tried to call me down and adjusted my neck to where the migraine was gone. That's all I wanted. I didn't want this pain that I'm still feeling in my ribs under my breast that is still killing me 2 weeks later. Dr. Cale walked me out and said come back on Wednesday it'll be on the house. Came back on Wednesday and had x ray and didn't see anything bad but couldn't see if it was a hairline fracture or the surrounding tissue being bruised. He wanted me to see the nurse Amy and get a pain shot on the house. I saw Amy and wasn't given a pain shot as I had motrin in my system. However, was given kenalog and B complex to see if I might get relief $80 later. Was adjusted sitting at a machine where it calculated your spine pressure and an instrument thumping your spine. Was told to come back on Friday for another adjustment. I didn't make it and my husband called to talk to Dr. Cale and told him I was in so much pain and didn't sleep nothing was.given me relief. He said come in on Monday, he wouldn't be there but his brother Bret will be and that he knew what was going on. Over the weekend I was just not in pain but swollen from head to toe. I mean kankles hard skin to walk. Went in on Monday and had crappy attitude given to me by the receptionist airing my business in front of others that was there. Again just overall rude. Saw Amy was never given a pain shot just talked about my swelling and that it came from the shot. When it did come from that and constant motrin use. Was taken over to the machine and waited 20 minutes and the area was jammed packed due to Bret being in appointment with state inspector. When I came back I was feeling 50 to 60% better. When Bret worked on me he used more force than Dr. Cale. I asked to have my neck done manually and he said he would but to have a seat. The more I waited the more it was getting busy and people were watching you. He came back to me 7 minutes later and laid me down and adjusted my neck quickly and I mean quickly, I believe because they were so busy. He was not as gentle as Dr. Cale and with that being said I'm back to hurting so bad and I don't know when this will ever go away. They wanted me to come back today Monday and I canceled cause 1, I'm in so much pain and 2nd I can't afford their mess up. I'm so upset and feel that they don't care. I was told 4 weeks to heal, it's only been 2 weeks and I'm miserable. I also don't like it being so open that other patients see you being worked on. No privacy at all!! The receptionist even was rude when I left that last day. A Nightmare I'm living all over again. read more

The pain was so bad I could not walk but Dr Kothmanns staff was so courteous and explained everything in detail and put me on a plan of success. The staff, the chiropractors, the facility... All amazing! I have been a patient for a few years, they take great care of me and my husband. I always say they are the only reason I still walk upright and that I have crawled into the clinic, only to walk out! These doctors really care, listen, and take the time to address all of your issues. The staff is kind and accommodating to a busy schedule. I have been most impressed by the thorough, holistic medical care and treatment they are able to provide. I tell everyone about this place and most of my family sees them as well. If you throw out your back, have crick in your neck, or have serious orthopedic issues, this is the provider for you. I'm especially grateful for the way the always find a way to work me in! Dr Kothmann and his office have treated my entire family for years. His office staff is some of the most professional clinical personnel I've seen in Lubbock. Very well trained on how to treat patients with respect and dignity. Dr Kothmann has managed to relieve my back pain for years allowing me to have a active lifestyle.
