Due to her pre existing kidney failure the chose to do dyalisis while she was sedated and in a weakened state which caused cardiac arrest. She was revived after more than 5 minutes which caused brain damage. This ultimately killed her.

They have unconditional 'positive care, they have her back, thank God thank God but.... Moleen and LaShonda are they absolute Queens of patient care. May I plesse suggest an employee recognition for Moleen. Today, I didn't know she wasn't the CNA or PCA for Kristie's room. Kristie had pooped and was about to undergo dialysis and I didn't want 4 hours of poop to be on her. I turned the care light on and guess who popped their head in to see if I needed anything, it was Moleen. It wasn't even her side of the hall but she unconditionally stepped in and helped me clean my daughter with the care of Kenya. God sent her to us. I believe it. She got it done with extreme extreme extreme care and proficiency down to the nitty gritty clean which was enough to get her through the dialysis without stinking. God only knows that kind of compassion from her type of heart is rare and Kristie and I are Blessed to be in her presence. She is like that everyday...24/7....unrelenting and I can't thank her enough. Is there something I can give to Moleen, she went way above and beyond to come to my aid and wasn't even assigned. That's the way it used to be back at them older days when a staff member came to work they cared for the whole Hospital team of patients and not just the ones they were assigned to they work there to look at the unconditional care of anyone who needed it which made them an awesome asset to any hospital they work for because they made the hospital also look good by being an unconditional carer. Is their recognition through a program to recognize her? Please let me know what I can do to give something please please please. And LaShonda too. Moleen and LaShonda are my complete and blessed 'total care for the patients' for my daughter Kristie. Oh, don't think it stops there, you have a Nurse Oshia...Lord, as many times as she has put her name on that board I cannot spell her name correctly...Lord forgive me, who is unconditionally a great Nurse and CNA wrapped in a Blanket and delivered to Earth by one of God's Angels Amen. Total recognition to her if I have to squeeze some funds out of pocket to present some type of Employee recognition. If that is so I definitely have some others I want to list on recognition... from the Respiratory Team, from the Wound Care Team (my Saviours) from the Dialysis Team! Oh my God, Kindred is an all-around Saviour for my Daughters' continued care. Lord God. Dr. Winn is working overtime trying to help me get her cognitive senses regained with the Modafinil treatments before she has to go back to a nursing home because she died at Fallbrook nursing home because their care was very minimum very very very bare minimum. I walked in from the store with her gasping for air and turning purple. I immediately began CPR on her while screaming for the Nurse to call 911. The ambulance got there and did that shock thing on her twice and God.....!and He brought her back again and she had to start all over with the cognitive medication Modafinil. To watch my child die again before my eyes has almost weakered me but I have to continue to learn to Walk by Faith and not by Sight. When we got back here to Kindred, Dr. Winn immediately started the Modafinil treatments again. Lord thank her because that modafinil is what's making her come back to her brain activity again to be able to move her hands and body and head and facial expressions and to hopefully be able to follow commands from the Doctors before she leaves here because that would help so much with her care if we could get her to follow some commands because then she will be able to go to a better nursing home that is more concerned about her care than putting her on hospice. Yes my Lord God she died at Fallbrook and God brought her back again...she is a fighter she is a fighter she is a fighter and so am I and I will fight with her I will fight with her I will continue to fight with her. God thank you God for giving me the strength to fight with her. Po' Baby Girl had to start over from scratch after Dr. Winn had done all of that work from her first visit here.

When I had the misfortune to be in a hospital for 11 weeks including 8 surgeries I wanted nothing else but OUT. So I was very alarmed to learn that I had to be relocated to yet another hospital for rehabilitation therapy to gain strength and performance for the daily life lying ahead of me. To say my feelings were mixed is the understatement of 2023. On the brink of panic I was transported to a facility that was hiding behind a very small EMS bay and an even smaller entrance door - the back door. Inside, I was greeted friendly, which gave me some hope. Apart from being really clean, which is not the norm for hospitals, Kindred has a general whiff of southern hospitality. My arrival time was too late for dinner, but after they heard my stomach growl I got a dinner plate nevertheless. And I mean porcelain dinner plate, fork, knife, spoon out of metal, and the food warm (where did they get that from?). I was impressed. The next and following days impressed me a lot more. I have never encountered a doctor in a hospital not being in a hurry to get to the next patient. My "primary" doctor, Dr. Lee took his time every day to listen to my issues and discuss possible treatments in great detail and compassion. And then rushed off - as he must, of course. I came with a lot of pain and he managed to ease it to a bearable level. The wound doctor, Dr. Maus, is a great person who - apparently - dwelled in the knowledge that nobody of the team was aware that his last name simply translates to "mouse". I changed that immediately with a small evil smirk. Still, he gave me great confidence that my big wound was in good hands, so to speak. Very professional, friendly and tech savvy. Dr. Burton, on the other hand, apparently told my therapists to push me as hard as they can. Deepa and Kyle squeezed every ounce of energy out of me - for my own good - and I love them for it. The nursing team, and I will forget to mention a few names unfortunately - Francesca (no worries!), Evans, Marie, Emmy, Elizabeth were on top of their game, very warm hearted and bent backwards to ease my intense pain flares and other needs. A special shout-out to Saba who - almost like a mother - assured me she doesn't want me to cry of overwhelming pain and managed to keep it at bay with medication, good timing and sometimes just a word, a hand on the shoulder. Let's do not to forget Janice who organizes the unit from the background and still was visible and present for me when I needed her. OK - let's stop here. You just read a middle aged guy bantering - just words - it's just words that were written. BUT: What impressed me the most is the food. On a scale from prison slop to 3 Michelin star food it ranks higher than any fast food chain and a little below your grandma's chicken pot pie. I try my reviews always to reflect price/performance ratio. This place delivered quite a bit more than expected. This is 5 out of 5 stars.

Her surgeon thought she would benefit from the more aggressive rehabilitation she would receive here as opposed to the acute care hospital where she was becoming more deconditioned due to lack of aggressive therapy services at the other hospital. She made such a wonderful recovery here. The therapy department was exceptional. Her physical therapist was Charles and her occupational therapist with Linda. They both worked so very hard and were so gentle and patient in their technique. My grandmother made great strides of progress thanks to their efforts. Maria the rehab tech was also a gem. The nursing staff including the supervisor Jean were also fantastic. We were a very involved family and they always attended to our questions or concerns. They kept my grandmother comfortable and safe. They were constantly seeking feedback to try to improve and were receptive to this feedback. My grandmother also had a wonderful nutritionist named Anjail who was always so kind warm and helpful. Her team of doctors including Dr Elati, Dr Yang, and Dr Pandya were also fantastic. We owe the great recovery my grandmother made to the outstanding care she received here. I very highly recommend this place.

After discussing the issue with several different leaders and asking for a plan, they had none. We then requested CT scans, the Lung Doctor saw the results and recommended antibiotics. However, the Infectious Control Doctor reviewed the scan and noticed mucous plugs. Why didn't the lung expert notice the plugs? Why did we have to advocate so hard to get an updated status of her lungs and request tests? Why were they not continuing her care based off the discharge paperwork from the previous hospital? This is disappointing considering we are talking about someone health who can't speak for themselves. Where did the transition communication breakdown from one facility to another? I feel bad for those that don't have anyone to speak up on their behalf. It wasn't like we didn't do our research before choosing this facility, Not the experience we were expecting.

She kept pressing the buzzer all night long and couldn't sleep because she needed to get changed. Finally someone came around 10am. Can you imagine being in a soiled diaper that long? When asked if the buzzer was broken, the nurse said it wasn't and that she was so busy that she had forgotten all about her. If they are so busy and understaffed, why are they accepting more patients? She also was not getting her blood sugar checked or her medication and nutrition was bringing her the wrong food. We had to go in there and make changes to her diet/foods ourselves because she didn't know how and no one advised Nutrition that she needed to be on a strict diabetic/heart healthy diet. Luckily, my entire family was on top of things. I spoke to the Director of Nursing once who told me he would look into all the problems we had (not even 24 hours into her being admitted) and he said he would call me back - never did. My sister called his direct line, couldn't get him on the phone. When my family arrived Friday, my Mom's bed sheets were soiled. They took it among themselves to change out her sheets, only to find the CLEAN sheets covered in yellow and brown stains. (See photos.) Absolutely gross. We determined it would be in my mother's best interest to always have a family member with her while she was at this facility (which honestly defeats the whole purpose of her being there if we couldn't even trust their staff). And as we predicted, the staff's demeanor was completely different when they knew they had eyes on them. She stayed 4 nights and 3 days. They have 2 schedules for bathing and she was there long enough for at least 1 bath. Not once was my Mom bathed. On Sunday, my sister came up there and bathed my Mom herself. After the first night alone at this facility, a family member stayed with my Mom at all times to help her use the restroom. When we needed her blood sugar tested or meds, we would have to request it. If family weren't there, she probably would not have gotten tested or he given her meds in a timely manner. Essentially, my family was doing their jobs for them. Unacceptable. On Monday, we decided to pull her out of this facility as we felt that it was SAFER and more HYGIENIC, if we took her home. The discharge lady kept asking my family if we had problems or complaints. Well, yes, and here they are for the public to view. On the 2nd day, we notified the hospital (Methodist) of the concerns of this facility and how she was being treated, so they are well aware. Staff was observed talking and laughing in the hallways while the alarms were going off for help in other rooms. On the weekends, it was like a ghost town and we had to find someone for help. While my family was trying to get my Mom discharged, they sent everyone to her room as if to put on some kind of show. But honestly, it was probably to charge her insurance for that day and to claim she received services. They were NEVER that attentive until we told them we wanted to take her home and even the lady who was discharging was rude about the situation. Who wants to lose money, right? Do not trust this facility. I am surprised this place is still open and the state hasn't closed them up. If you do some digging you will find that this facility and their other locations all operate almost the same. They have received fines and many complaints. If there is enough, eventually they will get shut down. We could not get our Mom out of there quick enough. Thank God she's no longer there. I feel terrible for all the patients still there who have no family that cannot advocate and speak up for them.

She gave me a thorough exam including administering special drops that would "illuminate" the extent of the injury, determined it only needed an antibiotic ointment, gave me a prescription and sent me on my way. Everything from check in to check out was seamless and professional. The facility was clean, organized, and well run by all involved. I hope to not need their services in the future, but if I do, they will be my first choice.

Backstory: I was looking for referrals on a local FB page for post surgical lymphatic massage after my bi-lateral explant of my breast implants, which included total capsulectomy and lift. At the 8 week post-op mark, my surgeon cleared me for starting a detox protocol from the chemicals in breast implants (I had breast implant illness, or "BII" - and yes, it's VERY REAL and Susan agrees).
