Last year, they were one of the companies at the part time job fair at SJSU and I kept in touch with the lead recruiter through email. Eventually, we set up an appointment for an interview. I did so well they hired me. Once they hired me in November, they handed me over to the hr generalist where she sent me the paperwork. The majority of them, I had to sign. It was around $80 to have my finger print scanned. All of this took me a month to complete. Every now and then, I had questions about the paperwork so I called the hr generalist but whenever I called her, she never picked up. During a phone call with the hr generalist, she asked if she can call me Tuesday morning and I told her I was free Tuesday and I was up early on Tuesday but she never called me. This isn't the only time this has happened. Another time was when she told me she was free to call at 3. I called her at 3 and she didn't pick up. An hour later, she calls me back saying she was in a meeting. It sounds to me she's making excuses. If you're going to be in a meeting, I would prefer for you to let
me know in advance instead of having me wait like that. I have other things to do. I get everyone is busy but you have to communicate and let others know ahead of time that you can't do something so they can adjust and won't be disappointed, because if you don't, that's bad communication. Fast forward to February, I started the online training, which took 40 hours. I completed it in March. Once I was done with it, I called my supervisor on March 15th but she didn't pick up so I left her a voicemail. I tried her again March 22nd and she still didn't pick up so I left her another voicemail. She finally called me back March 23rd and explained what I'm going to be doing when I start working. She told me she or the hr generalist were going to call me March 24th but they never did. I was looking forward to working with them. I told them I would prefer to work with clients online through Telehealth because of covid and they were accommodating and going to find clients for me to work with online. I called them April 30th to check in but they didn't pick up so I left them a voicemail. I called them again in June and the supervisor picked up. I asked her if she was able to find clients I can work with online, because I haven't heard from them in months and she told me she hasn't been able to. She was out of the country for a month, which explains why I haven't been getting a response. How are you not going to tell your employees you're going to be out of town? I get everyone needs a vacation as everyone's tired and stressed from work but this isn't how you conduct a business. She says it's going to be harder to find clients to work with online, because everything's going back to normal and the majority of sessions are in person. She suggested looking at other companies and wished me the best of luck. I'm like, "Then why'd you hire me? What was the point of hiring me if you weren't going to be able to find clients I can work with online? I went through a bunch of paperwork, hours of online training, and an online Red Cross course to earn a cpr certificate, only for you to tell me you're not able to find clients I can work with online?" That's so unprofessional and inconsiderate. I was ready to work and now all of a sudden I have to go somewhere else? That's ridiculous and a waste of my time. I don't expect them to be perfect and no company is perfect but they should be more consistent with communication. I even had to travel all the way to their office in Walnut Creek to take my badge id picture, because they weren't accepting photo submissions. This isn't fair at all and I'm disappointed. read more
