The healthcare team take time to not only answer questions but also provide reassurance and education. I especially like that they talk directly to the kids about their care and engage them in small talk as well. When I used the on call system on a weekend, the doctor was patient, kind, and calming. He also answered questions and didn't just send us off to the ED as a precaution. While my kids don't have any special healthcare needs, I know they have experience working with a variety of patient needs. Highly recommend!

I called the office and was referred to Susan, who offered to walk me through the process over the phone. Still, I was not able to get access. Now, here is the very amazing thing. Sensing I was still frustrated, she offered to have me come in and she would help me step by step. I told her I'd be there in 10 minutes. She was actually waiting for me at the front desk when I arrived. This woman was incredible. She was so kind and patient and calm, which is exactly what I needed today. Susan was able to spot what the issue was, which allowed me to access my account. Problem solved. Susan didn't send me a link to click on or a toll free number to call. She just sat down and helped me. She didn't judge me. She didn't make excuses. She saw I had a problem and knew I needed her help. Each time the RN providing care entered the room, she was wearing one more religious symbol. The test results would be ready in a week. Most places take only a day or two. They refused to give results over the phone, when asked to do so. At the end, the RN, with her religious medallions, requested prayer with me. I went for healthcare--not to be prosyletized to. They have another facility in Ankeny that provides transportation. Cannot have one of their bus drivers over there come and take residents to the grocery store or other appointments? For the amount of money they spend on rent and services, they should receive a discount because one of their services is not available for two weeks. I was there in May over Mother's Day weekend and they did not plan correctly for the number of people coming for Mother's Day brunch. They ran out of food. Also there were no management present on the weekends ever. Activities did not plan anything special for the women at the facility. It's discouraging to see your kid on the 20th percentile of anything, but doctor here knows his stuff, he doesn't send you to a specialist every time you go in... plus he's a very nice knowledgeable person. I've been to doctors who like to show off their med school vocabulary... ones that don't really care.. ones that love referral money to get you to other specialists. I had a very painful c section (I had to keep telling the Anestesiologist to give me more and more drugs) and afterwards I was given tylenol 3 and ibuprofen- which didn't really touch my pain at all. The nurses in the hospital even admitted that other patients who had a c section in the other rooms just feet away from me were given pain meds. He won't do VBACs either. I had previously seen many chiropractors for many years regarding this same injury, but Dr. Aaron was the only one to diagnose me properly and actually heal my injury instead of just prolonging my "no pain" time. When I became pregnant, I started seeing Dr. Kurt on a monthly basis to help with mobility and to prevent any larger problems. I am convinced that Dr. Kurt kept me healthy and pain free during my entire pregnancy.
