But having spent my whole life in touristy places, I get the grift. If you're not too picky, you can get away with not spending too much here. The don't really upcharge for water so you can still get a big bottle for about 2 Euro. Sodas and other drinks are about 5-8 Euro. Same can be said about the food. A plain bread/Danish thing runs at about 4 Euro but get into sandwiches and you're looking at like 10. There is quite a bit of seating, even at the coveted outdoors area. Lucky for us, we were able to snag a 4 top right away and sat eating with a fantastic view of the beach and ocean.

We order Dogfish Head DNA and John Bull Classic. It is quite an impressive facility, very large and sprawling on the inside, with a lot of money spent on presenting a vintage pub. Servers that day could all speak fair English, and were very poor at their job that day. Never asked about more drinks when our glass was empty. Actually served our appetizer to the wrong table and since the never check back, they didn't notice until I asked about it. Menu had Fish and Chips with either cod or fresh fish of the day, which they said was...cod. When it arrived it appeared to be a fairly typical plate, but living in the area we knew to be careful. Each of our first bites revealed a surprising amount bones, which we don't expect in restaurant served fried fish cuts. We tolerated it until, in my first piece, I further came across the actual vertebrae of the fish. 2 of them the size of finger knuckle. I brought the waiter over to explain, his response was to blame the cut of the fish, we said we were finished, and left. Only one visit can't really account for the real trend of a place's service, and they must have some success base on their appearance. An emotional rating would be 1-star or less. Trying to look at the big picture, we give it 2.

It's less crowded and more secluded than the main beach club in Positano. We happened to be staying across the road which was lucky. If not, the beach club actually has a boat that will ferry you over from the main Positano area. The space isn't huge, so be sure to make a reservation in advance. In addition to reserving a chair you can also reserve a time slot to have lunch at the restaurant. 20 euro gets you a chair with a sun shade, a towel and an umbrella. We got there early and had first pick at a seat. If you can, I suggest doing the same. It was really nice to have views of the ocean (instead of another chair) in front of us. But honestly, the beach is so beautiful that there really isn't a bad seat anywhere. A chair also includes waitress service. There is an extensive drink menu with tons of cocktails, spritzes, wines, beers, frozen drinks and smoothies. Prices are very reasonable for a beach club -- cocktails are around 10 and bottles of wine 20. We weren't expecting much for lunch but the restaurant was actually phenomenal. The grilled octopus came with a huge portion and was super fresh. The ravioli pomodoro was perfectly al dente and stuffed with a delicious ricotta cheese. The grilled eggplant was simple and cooked in flavorful olive oil. Lunch was also fairly priced, and service was fast. The seats also overlook the water, so it's a beautiful and relaxing dining setting. Two people can walk away after a full day of fun and sun, eat and drink well, and spend not much over 100 euro. I strongly suggest making sure that your Positano itinerary includes a day to spend relaxing at Bagni. You won't regret it.

I'm never really sure why pubs abroad feel they need to market themselves as Irish, anyway, I'll just put that down to one of life's little mysteries ;) The beer menus are pretty vast and expect to find an excellent selection of Italian artisan / craft beers and fantastic trappist beers from Belgium and Holland. Price wise, the beer's not cheap and the service can be a bit slow. However, the food is good and the beer is mighty fine and cold. Music can also be a bit lame, with generic music television channels blaring out the latest naff pop hits. Apart from the bad music, Molly's is a great place to quench your thirst and hang out for the night!
