5 stars easy. I was walking my way across the city coming on my way to go get some fried goodness a few blocks away.
I walked by this bar and wasn't necessarily in search of a drink, but there were a few people standing and smoking and drinking at the stand up tables outside, I heard music that sounded cool and I glanced in and saw a full bar and a fridge full of high quality beer. I was tired, thirsty, and I was on vacation. When in vacation mode I have more of a, "hey I'm on vacation, I can splurge a little" type of attitude. I noticed a kwak beer in the fridge, but didn't see any prices anywhere. I figured I would get one no matter the price and just sit down, take a load off and enjoy myslef and my beer.
To my surprise I was met with a smile, an eagerness to please and a price of 4 euro. I've noticed that most bars in europe don't tend to try to gouge you on drink prices. I was happy with my beer, the ambiance and everything this bar had to offer. My feet also needed a break and this worked out perfectly for everything.
I also looked up this place on yelp b/c it had a yelp sticker outside and it was rated well, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with giving it a try.
Then it was on to Di Matteo.... read more
