I got an anti-aging facial at VALO and I have to say it was one of the best I've had. I really love…read morespa treatments and make it a point to go to high-end spas when I'm on vacation; but just because there's a hefty price tag on it doesn't mean it's necessarily that much better in terms of quality. The actual facial I received here was incredible. I would call VALO a demi spa in that it has some amenities, but not that many. They do have a nice locker room and offer spa style robes and sandals, and you can take a shower after your service if you like, but they don't have a hot tub, a sauna, a steam room, etc. Their robes were pretty size inclusive, the biggest one I saw was a two XL. The facial room itself was nicely appointed, and had a feature I haven't seen in a long time, which was a little light display on the ceiling that was very soothing. The facial bed/table was very comfortable and ergonomic. The facialist was warm and friendly, but professional. She spoke to explain things as she was doing them, and to warn me when something would be cold or bright, but didn't speak so often that I felt like she was interrupting my Zen. I can tell she was very well trained, and her massage technique was excellent. Her hands felt experienced, and the way she moved from treatment to treatment was seamless. The only thing I noticed that could be improved upon was the volume of the music in the lobby. I really like the music they had, which was sort of a more modern spa track, but as the receptionist was giving me the tour, she spoke with her back to me and between that and the music I couldn't hear what she was saying.

This place is such an oasis…read more Being Scandinavian, a visit to Valo feels like going home for a couple of hours. It is so nice and quiet, and even waiting for your appointment is part of the experience. Sitting in their dimly lit lounge, wearing a luxurious robe, sipping a delicious cup of tea, and watching the "flames" dance in the firepit...it feels so indulgent, and since phones aren't allowed, it forces you to just be present for a little bit. I usually go for facials, and I love the Swedish Maria Åkerberg products they use. These are also available for purchase. Halle is a wonderful aesthetician, and I always feel so refreshed and relaxed when I leave. They provide the robe and slippers, and have lockers to keep your belongings in during the appointment. The locker room also has a shower, and some complimentary hair products and deodorant available for use. Everyone is always so friendly, and the prices are really comparable to other spas in town. To my knowledge though, this is the only place of its kind in town - a true, stand alone day spa. Definitely go if you're looking for some quality "you time".

Being less traditional than many of her peers we decided that a more spiritual place would be more in line with representing her soul. OM Center stepped up and was more than happy to help. Much more fair in price than $750 the funeral home wanted and we were even allowed to bring in our own food. When we arrived we noted the gentle storefront and soothing tea area, but what struck me the most was the spacious area that was hosting the private event. At our disposal that night was a full size kitchen with large Stainless Steel appliances, a large counter/bar area for serving, linens, tables, and chairs. I was able to tweak the lighting to showcase what I wanted to and it really felt perfect. I know I was being looked upon with smiles from wherever Momma is hanging out these days. A large showing of old friends, family, co-workers and neighbors came to celebrate and there was enough room and warmth for us all. I would love to have another event at the OM Center, just maybe a bit more on the lighter side of things

My goal was to lose ten pounds and see if I could alleviate the pain in my knees because they were aching continuously. The trainer, Colin Gable, took his time with an interview and listened to what I wanted to achieve. During my hour-long sessions twice a week, he explains each exercise and always demonstrates them first. He adjust the machines, steps and other equipment exactly for my smaller frame. He is punctual and never leaves me during a session. He keeps accurate records so I know where we are on this journey to be the best version of me. On St Patrick 's Day of 2024, I did the 144 steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, famous for"Rocky Steps" . In early May, 2024, I had my annual physical. I had lost 18 pounds and my BMI had decreased over 3 points. My knees seldom hurt and I haven't worn a kneebrace since last November. I moved to Omaha without knowing anyone and I was unfamiliar with the city. Then I discovered Ambrust YMCA in my neighborhood. I feel a sense of belonging and my trainer has made it successful and fun. The money, time and energy I have invested in this venture has been life changing for the better.
