After a long day of exploring Old Antibes we were hungry. We were hungry for a nice steak dinner. We had outdoor seating and could hear the crashing waves from the beach area--- even over the music. We ordered steaks and a dessert. Golden beef offers many cuts from around the world. I am an avid BBQer and consider myself a good critique when it comes to meats. The main reason I did not give this restaurant 5 stars was for 2 reasons. Reason 1-Although the restaurant was somewhat busy- they never came to check on our meal or how our meat was cooked. I needed more to drink and ended up grabbing my drink from my backpack. Reason 2- Meat was ok. It did not give me explosions or beautiful memories when I ate each morsel. Meat lacked something. When I bite into a steak I want to feel a romance in my mouth of different flavors--- flavors of grilling, flavors of seasoning and flavors of the juices. Seasoning? Not sure.....It was lightly seasoned and the delicious taste of the meat stood out- but still, something was missing . I selected my meal with a chimichurri and the chimichurri was ok- it did not add to the meat. I realized after I finished my meal what was missing, what it was.... A nice crust.... It just did not have the sear that gives the meat that nice crust. I am guessing here- I believe it may be cooked sous vide and then just finished lightly in the end.... I feel when you do that's you loose some of that smoky element you get when you grill or pan fry- sometimes that grizzle adds a deep element that can't be replicated. There was no juiciness when I cut the steak--that juiciness you like mopping up with a nice piece of bread or a side dish... the juiciness you get when all of a sudden you eat it all up and you look at your neighbors plate to steal their food. Will I come back? Yes. Mainly because I want to try other items at this restaurant. The dessert was delicious! And the location is a no brainer.... If you are in old Antibes, it's a nice place to end the evening at.

I am the Intersection of both being a black female from America. My waiter was awful. He was a middle-aged, tall, thin man with salt and pepper hair. It immediately started off weird. I asked him do they have lemonade and he said yes and brought me a Sprite. Ok. Whatever. He was waiting on everybody else and would come to my table as an afterthought. He was personable with everyone else, but with me, it was always weird. I was in there for 60 minutes when I could've been in and out in 30 had he been even moderately attentive to me and my needs. A white guy sat right beside me. He treated that guy like he was Jeff Bezos. I got treated like the help. Even the guy kept looking at me because he saw how differently we were both being handled. Fast forward to the end of the meal. I say to him I want to get this to Go. I had 90% of my fries left and half of my fish. He grabs my food and slams it on a tray full of dirty glasses. My plate is literally touching a filthy glass that had been taken off of someone else's table a few minutes earlier. This is highly unsanitary. I'm thinking maybe he thinks I don't want my food. 10 more minutes goes by as he's helping everyone else and I'm trying to tell him that I need my bill. He continues bringing everybody else else's Bill and And ignoring me while my food is laying up against dirty glasses. Some other waiter grabs the tray and runs off with it. I tell the initial waiter that he took my food. He runs down and finds the guy. And comes back and tells me that he's packaging my meal. At this point, I really do not want it. The second waiter eventually brings me my to go bag and there's no fries in the bag. All I want to do is pay and leave. I'm here for a Film Festival and my next screening is beginning shortly. I flagged down the initial waiter again and I tell him the man did not pack my fries at this point I'm angry. I'm telling him you put my food up against dirty glasses. You left out half the meal and he can see that I'm annoyed so now he's trying to get angry. He finally takes my card so that I can pay my bill. I now have to wait for fresh fries and I'm highly irritated. The waiter was extremely rude throughout the entire process. As I stated earlier, I will never return there, and I'm here for five more days. And the food was mid.
