Got my hair cut twice here by Cindy while I was visiting. If I lived in Louisville, she would be my regular stylist. I went from long locks to a pixie cut, then on my second visit got my pixie trimmed with a fade in the back because I was having trouble getting the back slicked down. The first time I got my pixie cut it was a little short which didn't work for me because I have thick hair with Asian heritage, so if that's the case for you I would definitely communicate that. I was in Kentucky for the summer working at Fort Knox. A rough experience at another location sent me here, despite the distance. Most of my experience was with Jessica and it was excellent. The shop itself is small but certainly has a great feel to it. Prices are very reasonable and the general location lends itself to solid food and coffee options. Parking is available behind the shop. These ladies have superior salon skills cleverly disguised in a no-frills, no-nonsense venue. No complimentary glasses of champagne or sparkling water, with an aromatherapy chair massage... My natural color is a deep warm brown and my hair is straight in some parts and slightly curly in others. I've had a difficult time finding people who could cut my hair to my liking, and an even harder time finding someone to color it as well. Plus, I work in corporate America, where wild hair is generally frowned upon... I went there for a haircut two days ago, decided to go check them out since all of these Yelp reviews were steering me that way. I come in there it was my first time, I didn't even get the name of the lady that was cutting my hair. First thing she said to me was okay take off your hoody for me. Throughout the whole process of her cutting my hair she hadn't said a single word. I didn't like the service at all, the haircut wasn't good either I've been to a fantastic Sams that was able to cut better. I honestly want to call out the lady that cut my hair, but I didn't even catch her name. I had been on a search for a new hairstylist, closer to home, when I stumbled on all the excellent reviews for Beechmont Bombshells. My hair had been growing for 5 years and was quite long, but I was so sick of it not having any style and I've never really thought long hair suited me anyway. Regardless, I was still a hot mess of a ball of nerves about getting it chopped off. I wanted something unique and decided on an asymmetrical cut, and made my appointment with Jessica. I got in pretty quickly, before I even had time to change my mind. Jessica was friendly, talkative and very comforting for as nervous as I actually was. It probably didn't help that I didn't let anyone in my family know the hair was coming off. I left with a fabulous, very reasonably priced haircut! Once I played with my hair on my own, I decided I needed to make some very minor adjustments (I wanted the short side cut much shorter, only because the half-wave/half-curl that my hair does), but I was so worried that Jessica would think I didn't like the cut. The cut itself was amaze-balls, it's my hair that's difficult. Needless to say, the next day I did make the call and asked if we could just tweak that one little thing and Jessica got me in quickly and made the changes (which I'm super happy with!!) She didn't charge me, but I did not feel right about that at all! It was through no fault of her own, it was all me! I still gave her what I hope was a decent tip for being such a pain in the ass! I have to say even though I was a nervous wreck (I am with any new hairstylist), I am very satisfied with Beechmont Bombshells! My 16-year-old son needed a haircut sooner than we could get an appointment with his previous stylist, so I looked online and found good reviews on this place. I got him an appointment the same evening, with Heather. This is a tiny little place on Woodlawn. Heather did a great job, cut his hair like the actor on "Supernatural", which they both have seen (I've never watched it..). She did a razor cut on the sides and scissor cut on top. It can be styled several ways, which is what he likes. He is super pleased with his cut and he is mighty handsome, and I don't think that's just a biased mom talking! Great prices, too! read more

Horrible customer service. Running late, never acknowledged this. I even called 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment, would have been a great time to let me know so we didn't rush to make our appointment ON TIME. (Not to mention it wouldn't be acceptable for us to arrive late 15 minutes late for our appointment). Seemed completely put off when I asked how much longer as we were on a tight schedule. I went in on a Wednesday. I loved my hair, cut style, everything. I enjoyed the atmosphere and conversation. Friday my husband notices my hair had faded. My neighbor and friends notice. I did go from blonde to brown. She advised there would be some fading and suggested some Olaplex additive to help prevent that and make my color last longer, I agreed. I expected fading in the long term not a couple of days. It was the longest and most expensive hair cut/color of my life. However, this is not the first time in my life I have gone blonde to brown with long hair. I have been going back and forth between brown and blonde since I was 17. I have also washed my hair everyday routinely with the exception of lazy days on occasion all of my adult life (I am 35). I mention this because when I went to the salon to show Cindy what I was talking about she became defensive and abrasive. She denied it was different and then told me it was my fault for using my shampoo and the frequency of which I was my hair. I am not saying my hair looks like crap now. I did expect some fading after 4 or more weeks, not a couple of days. I paid $210 ( and tipped $10) and spent 5 hours getting my hair done. It was the longest hair cut and color of my life and the most expensive. She told me that she didn't know who was telling me my hair was faded but it hadn't. I was fuming. I will include pictures to show how much it faded. It is the worst hair experience/customer service I have ever had. I told Cindy that I would write this review and include pictures. On my way out Jessica asked what could be done to make it better. She said negative reviews not only impact Cindy but the whole salon. I told her that I was only looking for an apology. Cindy said she didn't have anything to apologize for. The salon is small and the only rinse sink is Cindy's chair. I will never go there again. I appreciate Jessica's offer and attempt to correct the situation. If you read the other negative reviews on here for the salon,you will see in Cindy's responses not an apology for customer service but she apologizes for how people feel. She accepts not responsibility in negative experiences. It is just bad customer service. I realize that not all things turn out the way we expect. I am not sure why a business owner would be to proud/arrogant to apologize. I posted the pictures of my hair. The day after my color and three days after my color. Cindy's reply to this review only proves what I have said. I did not dog my past hair salons. My husband is not mad about the money. He was only upset that for that kind of money I wasn't completely satisfied. I didn't dog a family member. I loved my close friend doing my hair but I also drove 6 hrs to Michigan to get it done which got old. The picture is not old.The timing on the pictures is accurate. I don't need to continue to dispel her personal attacks. I could do the same but like I mentioned poor poor customer service. The replies to any negative feedback is evidence enough that she lacks customer service skills and professionalism. read more

I was so excited when I read about Beechmont Bombshells and thrilled when I did not have to wait to get in. I had a long-term hairdresser, however thought I would try something closer to home, especially after reading about them. I agree with the other reviews regarding the prices of "hair cuts" and didn't have any complaints about the cut, HOWEVER had highlights which were supposed to be blonde and when I left could not even tell it had been colored, my roots were still dark and this after spending over $80. Decided to go back and try again, nothing complicated just foils and blonde highlights. When I left I had a brassy color, not blonde and after a couple of washes and in less than a week it was drab and dull. I had numerous comments from coworkers that they liked my hair blonde and this after spending over $150 (2 visits) and in less than a four-week period. Also the products used on my hair were very low budget, the hairdressers shared a weaving comb, there was no root boost, texturing spray, nothing to offer to make my hair look presentable when I walked out, not to mention there was no styling, I left with my hair very damp and with an upset stomach over the services I received for the money. I ended up having to go and get my hair redone at another salon and they said my hair was too brassy. I left this salon with what I originally wanted and at half the price. Everyone told me they liked my hair and my son told me he was glad I went back to my original color. If you want a cut or eyebrow wax this may be a good place but if you want blonde highlights you may be disappointed. Also, my hair is short and fine and I spent over $80 for each visit, which I find very expensive. If I had walked out with what I went in for I would have been ok with the price but this is the Southend not Shelbyville Road and I don't think these prices with the quality will bring in repeat customers. I'm not really reviewing this salon, since I haven't actually been in the salon. I tried to make an appointment, left a message in great detail about looking for someone to work with curly, course and thick hair and never received a call back. First of all, I'm not a fan of the leave a message thing. A customer wants an appointment when he/she calls, not later, and in my case never! I suppose they didn't like my message and perhaps had an attitude. Whatever the case, left a sour taste in my mouth. I love this place. It is the only place I get my hair cut anymore. I went just today and got an amazing bangs haircut by Cindy. We looked at my pictures, we discussed how it would turn out, and she have her honest opinion and they look great! I even go there for a quick trim because their prices are so affordable. $15 cut and I give a $5 tip so I can easily just hand over a 20. I would recommend this place to anyone, boys and girls alike. The first time I was there, I was ready for a style change and Cindy spent quite a bit of time with me, looking at pictures and studying my bone structure and hair texture. Took my son for a haircut as he has outgrown kiddie salons, and has had too many questionable barber shop cuts. I was drawn by the reasonable prices and the good reviews on this site. The cut took 35 minutes, but not for any other reason but that the stylist seemed really intent on providing quality results. When the cut/style was complete, I marveled at the finished product. I don't know how much Cindy has paid these other reviewers for anything more than a single star. This place is horrendous for multiple reasons. Let's start with the greeting. It sucked. I received attitude from the moment I walked in the door till the last excruciating second that I escaped that den of negativity. Now granted I don't go to get my haircut for the personality so let's move on to the haircut. Cindy asked how I would like to have my hair cut and that's apparently when she shut off her ears. I'm not kidding when I say she literally did everything opposite of what I requested. She began to chop and chop and chop, at the same time I thought she had to be through hacking, in her head she was only about halfway there. I'm confident that she only knows one haircut for men and it's called the "f**k you up." I would advise any person that cares what their end result hairstyle would be to run as far and as fast as possible from this debacle factory to some place that actually knows what they are doing.
