Never was the suggestion made that as it was only a hen why not put her down, she was treated as though she was an expensive pedigree. On the spur of the moment I called this surgery and they kindly agreed to stay open a few more minutes to allow me to come and check Noddy. I agree about some receptionists. You go to the PDSA because you cant afford normal vets, but you…read morestill care enough about your pets to get them looked at when unwell. You get asked every time now for a donation and are made to feel guilty, when you have to explain you have nothing you can give that day. All of this is done infront of everyone in the waiting room, and they even put on the system how much you have donated, when you can give them something. I had to have my dog put to sleep recently after being part of the family for 11 years. We were obviously upset, but was also crying because of the way things were done, which I will not go into, but felt so guilty leaving my dog like that.

The staff and vets are so friendly and very well experienced in all kinds of animals. Often you find that a vet specialises in a certain type of pet but I have taken all kinds of animals here. This surgery has a central location and dispite it's popularity you can get an appointment very quickly. The only problem is parking there isn't any but it is walking distance from the town centre.

We use this vet for our two cats. It was originally recommended to me by a friend who is a vet but…read morehas moved and now lives too far away to be our vet. I like that this is a small practice with staff who genuinely care about the animals rather than profit which can be a problem with some of the larger chain type of practices. I have always managed to get a same day appointment when needed one of my cats is often getting himself into scrapes and has needed quite a few visits over the years. I do find this to be a lovely friendly caring place and we will continue to use it for as long as we have animals.

The only things is that the waiting room is quite small and can get backed up. Quite often there is a wait and sometimes there is nobody behind the reception desk. I wish people who had dogs would keep them next to them as it can be frightening for chidren and cats to go past. The fees are good and the vet is lovely, so I continue going there.
