Although being perceived by many as partner stores, Lidl is actually Aldi's main rival in the UK. Aldi has been a resident UK discount store for just over two decades and currently boasts over 400 outlets nationwide. Lidl, on the other hand, has gone on to launch just under 600 branches in the UK; which no doubt, is quite an annoyance to its twin and must cause some heated family debates around the German discount dinner table. Rivalry aside, Aldi and Lidl are like-for-like incarnations of each other; good grocery deals with a simple, straightforward layout. Most of the stores are mirror images of each other and are the grocery shop equivalent of McDonald's and Burger King - both do the job, but are so similar you wouldn't really choose one over the other. Aldi is a great place to shop if you live close by or if you are aiming to save yourself a few extra quid.

I just make sure I check carefully though, so be cautious if you're a veggie (it was a marshmallow based item so thought it was too good to be true anyway!) You will be able to get the majority of your food shop here, but probably not the full shop due to lack of choice. You will save money though as most items are cheaper.

Pick your own fruit, including strawberries and raspberries, depending on the time of year, is always popular. There are also special events running during Easter and Halloween, generally involving lots of children running around trying to find things on the farm. Great fun! The farm also makes and sells honey, preserves and wine, which set a high standard in local produce. This is also a bed & breakfast, which I imagine would be very comfortable at any time of the year, given the warm hospitality of the staff and the cosy decor of the farmhouse.
