What a gem! They have what are certainly the freshest and best pecans and pecan candy that you can…read morebuy. They've been open for over 60 years in exactly the same spot and Linda Earnest, the owner, is the second generation to work there (but third and fourth are working there, too!). Linda is delightful and is happy to tell you the history of the business. They are an aggregator, meaning they buy pecans from local farms and individuals. The nuts are then sent to their buyer in Pensacola who in turn sells them to shellers who sell them to businesses that sell the nuts or use them in goods such as candies. The buyer takes the best nuts, shells them, and sends them right back to Earnest either raw or in any number of candies. These are "new crop" nuts, meaning they were from the current season (October-February ish). That's different than "this years" nuts which could have been harvested back in January (which is what you'll get from many of the roadside but sellers and supermarkets). So you always want new crop, rather than this year's, when you can get it. They are fresher and far tastier. You can go around back and see the buying and bagging operation. But you really want to go into the store to buy some nuts and nut candies. Everything we tried was delicious. And they also have a large assortment of holiday gifts and packaging. The business is seasonal and is typically open from October until February, or until pecan season is over. Call them or check out their Facebook page for their current hours. Well worth a visit!

There were also some amazing looking warm pastries and I bought a couple of them. I had a turnover that was pineapple and some curled pastry that was also pineapple. I used the tortillas for dinner the next evening and they were delicious! I'll be going back to Quincy to pick up more tortillas and pastries. My friend got my 4 year old chocolate milk and he was being a curmudgeon, but when I threatened to drink it, he said, "no!!" And slammed it down. He must have really enjoyed it too. I had not visited this town in 8 years. Prior to that visit it was around 20 years! My husband had…read morenever seen the town in which I graduated high school from, so on our couple's two week trip to Destin, we drove over for the day. It's about 1.5 hours from Destin. Driving into town I spotted this place and had to check it out with my high school friend. Nothing this cool existed here in the 1980s. The owners were welcoming and let us sample their craft brews in order to decide which we like. My friend had the cheese curds and they were good. There was a stage for live entertainment in the evening. This place is just getting off the ground and hope you will check it out and help it be successful in this small town.
