I was actually planning to go to Anthracite Mercantile. On my way there I found myself in front of Claypoole's. I loved the owners and perusing the store. They were friendly and helpful. There is an abundance of merchandise but the store is not organized. I found the items to be extremely expensive. February is make an offer- but I am not comfortable with this- it would be insulting. I found a vintage glass rooster priced at 24$- I found the exact same item at Studio 895 for 4$. That's a great example of what I'm talking about. It's a fun place to look around- but I'm not likely to purchase anything there. I don't like when retail shops price something ridiculously high and then offer a "discount". Even with said discounts you'll be overpaying.

The prices here are very fair and reasonable- nothing like Claypoole's down the street. I was pleasantly surprised with this store. I honestly thought it was going to be surplus merchandise like overstocked towels/sheets. I was delighted to see such pretty antiques! I will definitely be back. There are individual booths with various items of interest. Everything from vintage melamine fishes to Pyrex, to collectibles! Jewelry, collectibles and Nicknacks galore. I really enjoyed the extensive Mr Peanut items available. I didn't purchase anything but I sure enjoyed looking. There is a parking lot available.
