Our guide Luke was very knowledgeable and did an awesome job explaining the process of beekeeping! And Ryan also helped out as well! I sent Marco a text after having issues with bees living under my shed and he was able to come out THAT evening to check them out. He took a look around, gave me an estimate, and said it would be a few days given their location and the amount of work until he could get me on the schedule. I received an email quote the next day to approve and was sent follow up information on date and time of arrival of the project. I loved the additional information and knowing the bees are actually being relocated and not killed. The floor in my shed had to be cut out to get to the hive and it was all cleaned and replaced. It's hard to tell that there was even a hole. He even sent me a video so I could see what it looked like under my shed. The bee box was set up out of the way and Marco came back after sunset to pick it back up. I used Bee Leaf USA for a hive relocation for a honey bee nest that I found in my front yard in the water utility box at my home in Eastlake, Chula Vista. I noticed the hive on a Saturday afternoon and found Bee Leaf after doing a search for eco-friendly bee removal. I called the number and Travis picked up on a late Saturday afternoon and walked me through the process. We scheduled an appointment for early in the week. John at Bee Leaf USA came out, got into his gear and transferred the nest. Their new temporary home was placed next to the utility box for the rest of the day so the rest of the hive could join their colony. Found Bee Leaf after a massive swarm of bees engulfed our home, blocking our exit and making it difficult to come in and out of the house. My partner had left her car windows open and there were dozens of bees just in her car, stopping her from going to work. Travis picked up the phone right away and worked with us over the next few hours. He was so great, and so responsive. He had us send him photos of the bees several times and explained that they were a swarm that had likely had their nest destroyed and were looking for a new one. He calmed my partner and explained that since they had no home to defend, we didn't need to worry much about getting stung and could go in and out of the home and she could drive her car, without worry. He also talked me through the bees process of colonizing and explained the bees process and instructed us on what to do, and a timeline. Of course, he was spot on and in a few hours they just up and decided to leave. He was so helpful, responsive and was going to come that afternoon to relocate them for us. Travis from Bee Leaf is amazing. Responded promptly to my phone inquiry, was able to assess situation with a photos sent via email. He is super knowledgeable and really cares about the bees. He removed a hive from under a plywood floor in work shed. No, it wasn't free, but super reasonable! I got multiple quotes, some never responded, one was super rude. Travis even found the queen and let us photograph her. He boxed up the entire hive, making sure to get all the bees into the box with the queen and some honeycomb to build in. He came back at sundown to pick up the box so that stragglers could join the hive before the big move! He quoted the job with and without repair. We were on our 2nd bee hive in 2 years. I really wanted a live removal/relocation. Bees were getting into our house, mostly in the kids room. No one was stung, in fact they didn't stay alive for long...we often found them already dying or dead. I sent a short video to Travis at Bee Leaf and he sent me a quote. The team came out and worked tirelessly opening up our roof and extracting a huge hive. The guys called in reinforcements and got the bee box ready, sitting on the roof with the queen. Their attitude (despite being so hot outside) was amazing. All of them are so nice. They care about the bees and doing a good job. We need to remember how important bees are to our Eco system. I contacted them again they said they can have a tech out on a Friday. Friday comes, no show for an hour. I decide to contact them again and they said had a medical emergency will send someone today, saturday. 3 hours later no call, text or reaching to say they wouldnot be coming. Travis was quick to respond and even though he couldn't get out to my house the same day, he asked me to send pictures so he could understand what was going on. I had bees in an exhaust vent that had started coming into my house because I taped over the vent. Travis recommended removing the tape so the bees would stop coming in my house. I recently had a swarm of bees set up their hive in one of my irrigation covers. Of course, I didn't want to kill them since the populations are dwindling and they are so critical to our food chain. Ben immediately returned my call, came out the next day and removed the hive and set up the transfer box. Marco came later that day and picked the box up (once bees were all back from foraging). I am impressed with the care they both took to make sure the bees are healthy and can be transferred safely to their bee sanctuary location. What a great team and the cost was very reasonable.
