This cozy wine bar was a fun stop for a PSU weekend, while getting out of the college town. The gentleman that took our order was kind, engaging, and very helpful when we were making our wine selections. We ended up finding wonderful conversation with other patrons inside and thoroughly enjoyed happening upon this place. While they do not serve coffee, there were cheese plate selections that I saw others order. All looked so good!

My wife and I enjoyed a flight tasting and opted to go with the larger pours (slightly more expensive). Let me just say, they aren't messing around with those larger offerings! They present the glasses in a unique and lovely spiral serving rack, and each sample was closer to a typical glass of wine. There's more than 40 unique offerings on the menu, so we went with a divide and conquer approach. My wife opted for whites and assorted sweet wines, I went with dry reds. As we worked our way down, sharing each other's flights, we found all the wine to be very good. Honestly, we could've bought a bottle of most everything we tasted. We particularly enjoyed the Pinot Noir (see attached label and don't mind the corners, I took the photo as I was removing the label for my wine journal). But what's nice about Seven Mountain is that most anyone can probably find a wine that fits their preferences (or multiple options for that matter). The Petite Sirah, Cab and Merlot are also good choices for dry reds. Plenty of good white choices as well - both the Riesling and the Dry Riesling are excellent, as are the Chardonnay, Vidal and Pinot Grigio. Dry, crisp, flavorful - perfect for pairing with cheeses or fish dishes. If you opt for the larger samples, my one piece of advice would be to budget enough time to drink responsibly. The tasting room is conveniently located near other shops and restaurants, so feel free to make an afternoon of it and support some local businesses.

Seven Mountains Wine Cellar Wine Bar - A well-enjoyed bottle of the Pinot Noir. We purchased 4 bottles when we visited, but easily could've walked away with a dozen or more.

Im not usually a moscato drinker, but I had to get a bottle of the Trout Run wine since my family cabin is right on Trout Run. They have recently added alcoholic slushees and cider, which I have yet to try, but am excited to! Quaint gift shop area with cups, apparels, and other gifts. Check this place out!!

Cute little gift shop with not only wine tasting, but slushes and ciders as well. Hey guys, wine made of grapes!!!! Not just sugar and random fruits!!! To describe my wine tastes and to gauge whether my review really matters: I can drink/appreciate any grape wine (red, white, rose, blend), but I absolutely cannot stand a "wine" that is just sugar. There are definitely sweeter wines I enjoy, but if I cannot taste anything but sugar, it is just not a good drink. How it works at Benezette Wines: All of the wines on their wine list are represented by a sweetness scale 0-5 with 0 being most dry/least sweet. This makes it easy to pick something for any taste. The tasting of 6 wines comes in little medicine cups, and it's FREE! I don't know if you've been to Napa Valley or Fredericksburg lately, but tastings are going for $20 these days! Nice to see people are able to experience new wine without all the undue hype. The wine is made with actual grapes and the cabernet Franc tasted like a cabernet! I know that seems basic, but trust me it's a rarity here! Well done Benezette Wines!!! ( I am sorry PA, but the fruit wines I am tasting are over-sugared, lack any depth and simply make me sad) Benezette Wines also makes a really nice Chianti. I actually bought both the Cabernet Franc and the Chianti (Bella Rosa). Another wine that I found interesting was the Raspberry Cabernet. I can imagine it being a very nice, special wine to serve at a holiday dinner party. Just a hint of spice (maybe cinnamon) and splash of raspberry flavor, but still overall a cabernet style wine, a sweet table wine. I may have to come back for this one closer to the holidays. Benezette itself is a cute little town with elk wandering around most of the year. For whatever reason, the elk are just very happy in this town and in turn the town has embraced their presence! I think as a downside to this though it can get quite overwhelming with tons of cars stopping on the sides of roads, crowding the restaurants for a chance to be a part of this magical elk town for a few hours. We only saw 1 elk, but she was great! I am told it was too warm for the elk to be out (it was 85 degrees, sunny) and that elk are out more in the early am and at about 6-8 pm. We are planning on coming back out when its a little cooler and later in the day so that we can hear an elk bugel!
